Anyone here use a copper IUD as their birth control because they want to keep ovulating? What were your experiences?

I have Implanon (little strip about the size of a match stick implanted in my arm). It works the same as IUD but is less painful to have "installed." I chose this over IUD because I hear too many women complain about the IUD and all the girls I know ended up having it taken out within about a year or so for one reason or another.
I know you were asking about experiences for people who use it, but I'm sleepy and when I'm sleepy I'm the same as being drunk and I'm gonna throw my two cents in anyways.
I think Implanon needs to invest in advertising because it is the shizznit.
I'm looking towards non hormonal menthols of bc and implanon is a hormonal method, but thank you anyway![]()

Here is a thread with some advice about IUD's that I found to be really helpful.

I have a paraguard that I've had for a few months now. I love it. It's good for twelve years which is perfect because I don't want kids and I love the fact that my body is off hormones. I also love the fact that it is the most foolproof method of birth control aside from sterilization; I ended up choosing to get it after I got pregnant on the pill, even though I took it perfectly and had been on it for fourteen years.
I will warn you though that getting it put in is excruciatingly painful. Like some of the worst pain I've ever felt, like someone was taking a knife and stabbing my uterus through my vagina. I thought I was going to throw up because it hurt so much. However, I'm told that it's far less painful for women that have had kids and that it's different for everyone. The general consensus though is that it's pretty bad for most women.
My periods for the first few months were heavier and more painful but right now I'm a few days into my third one since getting it and it seems to be lighter and much less painful, so I think my body is adjusting. I also had a little bloating in the tummy for the first month but it wasn't that bad, no one really even noticed it but me.
I highly recommend getting one.
