I go audition in a couple of weeks...my shoes came in the mail today.

Black 7 1/2 inch heels! I was wearing them for like 20 minutes, and it was pretty rough to practice dancing in them. I almost turned my ankle like half a dozen times.

Which leads to the ques...any tips/tricks to make this a less painful experience? (besides practice practice practice...which I fully plan to do for the next couple weeks ) Also, has anyone ever fallen on stage or walking around the club due to their shoes? That's my biggest fear...

You don't have to start off with heels that huge. I've been wearing 6 inch heels and did fine. Seriously, guys don't really care how high your shoes are.

It's too late, I've already bought them.

Totally willing to put in the time and effort into making 7.5" work, just looking for tips and tricks of the very high heel trade.

Okay then. If I buy some shoes that I absolutely have to wear regardless of how bad they hurt, I break them in by doing my housework in them. Lots of bending, leaning, tippy toe-ing, etc. I also wear them to the grocery store so I can lean on the shopping cart for support.

I just started wearing my 8" mules, and if I fall on the stage I'll just make it look like it's part of my routine. If you think you're likely to fall, don't stray to far from the pole. If I fall off my heels I'll just grab the pole and glide to the ground, and no-one (except the other girls probably) ever knows that I've tripped or if you need to walk around the stage to tippers etc, glide down the pole and then sexily crawl towards them (no danger of tripping) instead of walking.

    Hope this helps!
