I am interested in this post...I want information on the Logitech Cams and where ti get remotes for them. I def want one of those...
Not to mention when I move I was going to wire cams in every room of my house.
I have a remote, but I use a camcorder. It is like a 2 year old model, a canon one. I bought it online, it is used, but hardly used, and it had the same price as a new logitech 9000. Maybe it was my fail, but I did not find a webcam with remote. But in this country the choices are very limited and these items are expensieve.
Lots of camcorders have remotes. I would like to buy a full HD one soon, with remote. It is very useful on trips or family events so I stick to the camcorder.
However I'm also interested in the question cause I failed to find one and it would be nice to know if I sucked or it is rare.

Hm - Maybe that's a better idea.
I will have to check into that and see what I can come up with on Amazon. I'd rather have something like that and pay a lil bit more with a remote and a tripod than anything.![]()
I have that Amazon Student Prime membership so I am sure I can find something. I got a Logitech Orbit AF for 40 bucks on there brand new from someone who used it once. Then, I found a 30GB ZUNE on there with the case, car case, travel case and car and personal accessories for 60 bucks....so - I know it's possible.
I have an old sony handycam camcorder that I use via firewire to my mac. It sits on a tripod with the bar facing towards me so it's easy to use, and I bought a remote for it online. Great for zoom etc, and they run about $120 used
I heard about TrackerCam it sells tackerpods to set on some camcorders and webcam to do pan/tilt and zoom. http://www.trackercam.com/
They do support Logitech 9000 and Logitech c910 checking out the site under these cam models they just have the trackerpod and doing the rotations done from mouse not really sure if they include remote control some of the tracker pods for other cams they include it I just didn't see if they include it also for Logitech.
Before you rush out to buy a camcorder, remember, you need a firewire port on your computer. It's not a simple, plug and go, set up like hooking up a webcam.... Then I had to purchase some online software that told my computer to use the camcorder like a webcam..it worked half the time. I just went back to using my logitech after getting extremely frustrated.
I'd like to hear input on the Trackerpod if anyone has any experience with that.
I have one but I dont use it.. I did for a while but the colors were not as good, even if opened threw splitcam ( which was possible)... it was an actual surveillance cam.. made by Canon
Plus that remote control becomes your 3rd hand or 6th finger...
Its not enough I have a keyboard, dekstop, toys, lipstick water, coffee, smokes, shoes, panties, lamps and other crap around me... now I have to have the remote too!?
no thanks![]()
I have a hard enough time remembering to keep the mouse by me on the bed so I can zoom in and out.
I don't have firewire, I use it this way: http://images.digitalmedianet.com/20.../figure203.jpg![]()

I was researching this awhile ago when I saw a girl with a remote control she was using to control her webcam...and this is the link I have saved:

It seems to be the same as the tracker cam. I really like the idea, and that you can use the logitech webcams with it. When I get the cash, its something I have on my list to invest in...

^ that website is using the trackerpod as a base
I had a trackerpod and camcorder set up through firewire. I liked it but the trackerpod kept failingand then the camcorder quality was not as good as the new logitechs anyway (the 9000 pro and the c910). so, I don't use it anymore.
I would really like to get a HD camcorder but I don't know how to connect it to the comp, as they don't seem to use firewire on the HD onessigh

ebenk automatica pan and tilt head or trackercam.
