Default Future dancer.. with a little bit of concerns..

Ok so I've really considered being a dancer for as long as I can remember. I'm really comfortable with my sexuality and of course the money is the most appealing thing of it all lol There's a strip club where I formally worked at as a waitress. I made really good tips just doing that so I can only imagine how much I'd make as a dancer. I really like the whole feel of the strip club just in general. I always go with friends just to drink a few beers and hangout. I made a lot of really good friends when I was working there as a waitress, and it's a really classy, nice place too.

However, a few concerns I have are with my mom finding out. I'm 23 years old, and although I don't have the best relationship with my mom, I still for some reason care what she thinks. She never found out that I worked as a waitress and I'm sure she would've had a problem with it. Right now i'm getting to a point where I don't even care anymore. The only problem is if she were to find out I wouldn't have a car anymore. I want to work in secrecy atleast untill I get a car of my own. BUT another issue with that is I have a few guy cousins, while I was waitressing that was a fear of mine, that I would see one of them there. Although I never did, it wasn't like I worked there for that long so theres still a possibility that they do go once in a while.

Of course, theres the obvious issue with that which is awkwardly bumping into them naked! And of also having them tell my mom or someone in the family and having it get back to my mom.

I've already asked the manager, who I have a good relationship with also, and he said that I could go and dance. So right now the only thing is I want to lose a little bit of weight and also I need money for shoes. I just recently spent all my money and have absolutely nothing.

If you guys have any advice on how to deal with the mom and money issue I would really appreciate it!

Hey honey, well for starters I don't think you should be too worried about not having a car. With the money you (should!) be making as a stripper you will be able to afford a car if you need to.

As for your cousins coming in - I am an electrician during the day, and a stripper by night. I've worked as a stripper for 2 years now, and I have never seen one of the boys I work with in the club. Of course they could come in at all time, and I'm prepared for that, but I think in reality, the chances of your cousins coming in are probably minimal.

If you're really worried, a lot of girls wear hairpieces and wigs to keep them from being recognised so easily. And don't worry about the losing weight thing I always thought I was way too curvy to be a stripper, and now I'm one of my club's top earners. It's all about confidence!! Good luck hun x

Don't ask about money specifically, but try to get a feel of how the custies are. Is this club heavily dependent on regulars? Are their busy hours something you can't do? Also, I do believe you should size yourself up against those girls...if you are carrying extra weight as a newbie you will be at a significant disadvantage. There are girls here who will tell you that you can make money at any size, which is true, but is heavily dependent on a) your city, b) your club, and c) your hustle. Being new, you won't have a hustle, and if you are self conscious it will show. Since you have a good relationship with the GM, you might want to ask him for his honest opinion.

Are you working now? Don't quit your job. Try out dancing for a month and see if it's for you. You will lose weight and tone up when you start dancing too, so having a day job during your "fat" stripper days will help but once you lose the weight you won't need it anymore.
I think it is pretty dependent on regulars. I worked there as a waitress for just about 3 weeks and got a lot of clients even just as a waitress. I had a friend who was formally a stripper then became a waitress once she came back after having a baby and after about a week she started dancing again. I'm assuming they do make a lot more money if not she would've just stayed as a waitress. I was told a lot of the times that I should dance because I was a lot prettier than a lot of the dancers and the customers offered to pay a lot of money to get a lapdance from me but of course I couldn't. I'm gonna try it out and see how it goes. If the money i'm making is not worth it then I'll just stop

If you aren't making more than the waitresses, there is something reeeeally wrong. Obviously everyone has the odd bad night, but seriously, you are opening your legs for that money!!! You're stripping for it, you need to do something if the waitresses in your club are banking more than you!!!

Not trying to hate or anything and I mean that in the sweetest way I think it's the truth though!

About the shoes, if you already have some sexy high heels, use those until you can get yourself real stripper shoes. Also, I just started and have been mostly using lingerie my ex-husband bought me. Works great, its all VS stuff.

That's a good idea.. I'll ask the manager if I can do that even if just for one night before I get some of my own.

I dunno if normal shoes in a strip club is a good look... normally girls have (quite!) a few pairs, maybe she could borrow a pair off a girl the same size for the first night, or buy some cheap off them? x

Also hun dancer shoes are a lottt cheaper online than in adult stores, if u haven't looked there yet

When I first started dancing I had the same problem. I didn't want my mom finding out. I told my family and friends that I worked at Hooters. LoL. I kept it from my mom for about 2 years. I finally told her because it was easier then to keep lying about it. It was easy at first to keep it from her, but I started traveling and would go away to work at a club for like a week or so at a time so then it became a little more difficult. I would take off and go down to the Florida Keys to work for a week come back, then go back down and work. She of course wondered how I was taking off work (waitressing) and also how I was able to afford to go down there. When I finally told her she wasn't really suprised at that point and she took it really well. I felt better to that I didn't have to lie and I could talk to her about it.

When you first start dancing I felt as if it was something I should hide or be kinda like embarrassed I guess. But once I had been doing it for a while and was comfortable and was so used to the atmosphere and it was all "OK", I was a lot more comfortable telling people and I didn't feel ashamed or anything. Dancing obviously builds your confidence and thats what happened to me and I didn't really care if anybody had anything negative to say at that point because it was my decision and I liked it!

    Good Luck!!

i had a pair of black leather high-heeled boots with lots of sparkles on them that i wore for an entire year. people preferred them to the stripper heels, maybe because it made me seem more attainable or something.
