    Default Thank You!

For being supportive through my Dad's illness. He died of cancer after a two year battle and he's at peace. I'm sad but I'm also happy because he's not in pain anymore. You guys helped me immensely and I've been reflecting on your many kind and wise words especially Djoser, Vyanka, and some who've moved on. Thank you sooooo much!!!!

Glad to do something to repay the favor you showed me 5-6 years ago, when I lost my mom and my friend.

An end to suffering is better.

I just sent my number, use it if you want.

    Dear Optimist,

Those of us whose parents and loved ones have passed away after a long and difficult illness will understand your feelings; their passing is both a time for sorrow and a time of relief, since those whom you love are no longer suffering.

    Please accept my sincere condolences.

    Grac

Thanks guys! I'm trying to get beyond my selfish wish to hold him here forever or until I'm ready to let go. I heard today from everybody about how tough his last days were so I have to work on moving to a place of gratitude. It's gonna take me some time but I'm working on it.

I don't know if he went into Hospice. We debated for many days about my mom and Hospice, she was in agony even though semiconscious much of the time, but kept asking to go home. So we tried to wait.

What a relief when they finally took her in. It is the right thing to do when there is so much pain, there was no doubt whatsoever.

Optimist I lost my father to lung cancer 2 years ago. It was a hard and long struggle before he died, and I saw him go through things that I will never be able to forget.

I applaud you for having the insight to know the divide between the selfishness of wanting someone to stay, and appreciating their release from suffering, no matter how sad it makes you.

Hang in there, surround yourself with beauty, and know that things will get better.

Thanks y'all. He went into hospice after his meds weren't working anymore. They used to work for hours but in the end weren't cutting it. They put him on much stronger drugs but he soon became unresponsive for his last week. I wish he had just one more week so I could have seen him in time but it was not to be. They buried him with the snazzy new watch I got him though. He looked tired but peaceful at the funeral and his hands were soft and relaxed like he was dreaming. But as I was saying earlier today his energy is just transformed not gone.
