    Default Couple drinks is ok??

So i am a pretty shy person. Honestly because I take myself wayyyy to seriously. I want to try dancing again and just finally be me, the real me. You know a long ass wig (natural looking full lace), long ass nails, sexy ass outfits, and a bomb ass attitude. I guess I'm always worried about what other think about me and that just isn't the way to live. But anyway my question is do you think its wise to have a couple drink just to loosen you up and get you going?

If you're driving back and forth, make sure you don't have more than one drink.

If there's one thing you and guarantee about dancing (like any other sales job)...it helps you overcome shyness pretty quickly!

I think a couple of drinks is okay as long as you don't overdo it? Think about a couple of things - will you be drinking more through the night (champagne, drinks from customers?), will you try to cut down once you feel more settled? Will this impair your safety/judgement?
I used to drink before and during work. Whenever I started a new club I would get drunk before work to calm my nerves and make me more sociable. Now however, I realise that I work better without drinking, and have cut it out where possible. Still the first conversation of the night can feel awkward and fail miserably, but I allow myself that one warm up conversation and then go make real money once I feel more relaxed.

Don't get into the habit of drinking to "loosen up" at work. I developed an issue with drinking at work, and it got to the point where I was pregaming in the dressing room with a 20 oz Diet Coke laced with vodka or whiskey because I felt like HAD to start off my shift buzzed. I'd drink throughout the night with guys, and if there was no one around and I felt like I was sobering up, I'd buy my own drinks/shots. I wish I could get back all of those days of my life I spent hungover and feeling like shit! I've since quit drinking, and not only has my income improved, but working sober has forced me to become more outgoing.

I'm feeling the same way Marina...I wanna just have a couple, like it's not a big deal, and it's funny because I always post on here telling people how I quit drinking for a whole year just off of power of will and still made decent money. But that was a year ago and I am drinking again now.

But anway...with drinking at work now, I am just how you used to be la rouquine, bringing my own and making sure I keep a buzz on. I remember to ABC and I get my hustle on. Just makes me so random and fun. Not just with customers but even the girls I open up to when normally I wouldn't say one word. Yeah I got too drunk the other night though and they had to hide my keys, I think they took my outfit too because they thought I might just walk out the door and get into someones car maybe. I just passed out topless in the dressing room till closing. Still wearing my silk 100-dollar-bill thong, silver sparkly heels, rhinstone belly chain and earrings. HOT MESS the very definition of. Not a proud moment for me. Very embarrassing. I'm lucky I didn't a.) actually try to drive and die or b.) get a DUI c.) get fired d.)go home with a stranger (prolly never but still).....I was let go by the police for a DUI before and I kinda feel like this was a similar situation. Where everyone looks the other way and says, oh she's hot so don't fire her, or she's young so don't arrest her or w/e sorry to threadjack with my B.S. but I didn't want to make my own post about it.

Just a couple is fine...but if alcoholism runs in your family beware. I really had no good reason for getting falling down drunk. Maybe PMS. Just because it felt good, thats all, and I was starting to make money. I thought the more I gulped down the better I would feel. Wrong.

I don't feel like people who really are a good fit for this business (& the business for them) should "need" to drink. It can develop into a habit, but more importantly it can effect your weight, your health, & can cause you to "relax" so much that you aren't hustling - which means you aren't earning as much money as you could be earning. Having a clear mind will help to keep you focused.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.
