I was really hoping this thread had been updated.
I was looking forward to hearing from someone who had been diagnosed and treated as an Adult.

i havent been diagnosed but i know for a fact im ADD =) as for treatment.. meh i think i work with it pretty well. and i enjoy my personality. Like alot of fears are, when you you start taking meds you change.
and my husband being ADHD, it helps him with his job alot~
he was diagnosed young and i think he took meds back then, i dont remember how that went but he believes too he's better off without.
guess it just depends on how bad its interfering with things.
sorry im not much help~![]()

Apologies for awakening the dead, but I didn't see a point in making a whole new thread...
I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with Vyvanse? I tried it recently and thought it affected me well. Previously, I had only ever tried Adderall (not the time-release variety) and I hated it. I'm considering going to a doctor to try to get a prescription for a lower dosage of Vyvanse than what I tried (150mg), but I don't know anyone other than my boyfriend and his little brother who have been on it and would like some other opinions, if possible. I've never been treated for ADHD and I'm 22 now, but my "coping techniques" are kind of kicking my ass, since the older I get, the more that's expected of me. Plus, I write freelance on the side, so my attention keeps running down internet rabbit holes instead of zeroing in on work.
Also, "internet rabbit holes" just sounds really, really dirty the more I read it... I'm sure something interesting would come up if the phrase were googled...
I have taken Vyvanse and done some research on it. The problem many people seem to have with Vyvanse is inconsistent results. I personally have noticed this myself and am not able to determine anything that might be causing this on my part. Also, it seems that dose is sensitive and can give that zombie feeling when is off whether it is too high or too low depending on the person. Since it takes such a long time to kick in and has a longer duration it is very difficult to adjust this and often it becomes a total lose on those days. There is less obvious side effects than adderall IR but to me the numerous and for longer time side effects make this medication after a few weeks not worth it. It has been somewhat helpful for me in cutting back and hopefully ultimately quitting stimulants all together(but this might just be in getting me used not taking the pills so frequently) Also, I do think it is still addictive regardless of how they market it! It causes same stimulant reaction but far less crash or hangover feeling then with taking higher dose adderall IR, which when I used frequently had some very harsh withdrawl. It is still there but not as unbearable as with the adderall IR. The one odd bonus in regards to recreational use is when mixed with weed it seems to give a euphoric almost slight MDMA feeling for a little while. Hope this helps. I am very glad to see this thread active again b/c some ladies on here seem to have very good information form their personal experiences that has helped me out.

Vyvanse was weird for me. Not a lisdexamfetamine fan. On one hand, during the daytime, it wasn't strong enough for me. BUT I couldn't sleep that night, which is weird because I can sleep through my Adderall whenever. I only took it a couple of days before I threw in the towel.
