Default Plastic surgery for black dancers

I am interested in lipo on my upper thighs. No matter how hard I work out it won't go away. I was wondering if anyone has a great referral of doctors that have extensive experience in working with black skin. There are girls in my club that had it with excellent excellent results but they are so petty and competitive and keep it a secret

this is interesting because black women tend to go to the same plastic surgeons, hair dressers, makeup counters....haven't you noticed all these chickies wearing mac foundation looking a hot ass mess because mac foundation is hot garbage, but i think we are conditioned to think that some things are not "for us" and so we simply ask advice from ladies who look like us and then assume that everything will be best.
aside: black women, please stop wearing mac foundation and acting like it isn't oxidizes after 13 minutes.

that said, when it comes to fat surgeries, tijuana is a super popular destination for black women as most feel that us doctors are as "aggressive" as mexican doctors. however, there is a lot of discontent with the tijuana results, but the complaints are low because the cost was not exorbitant (a "you get what you pay for" kind of thing).

if you really want to get lipo, politely/discreetly ask anyone you know who has had good LONGTERM results where they went. they may not be keeping it a secret as much as it's in the back of their minds because the outcome was so good. satisfied customers are much quieter than dissatisfied customers.

i don't know how dark your skin is that you are concerned with scarring or ....i'm not sure why having black skin matters in liposuction. imo, indianapolis has the best plastic surgeons, though i've never been to texas to compare. for the body, you may consider contacting dr kimberly short. she has been recommended to me over and over again, though i do not have any fat to lipo. best.

Camille is a great resource for anything cosmetic surgery related, she knows what she's talking about!

I had lipo on my thighs, I am happy with my results! However, I do want more, and this time around I will travel to Colombia to see Dr. Alfredo Hoyos. Google him and check out those results!

LOL at Camille! You are so right about the Mac! LMBO! I'm picturing all the sisters in line waiting for it too. Well from research I have found out that there is a difference between the skin textures and thickness so the cannulas would be different and black skin [in general] heals differently and scars differently. I have been told and read and seen that it is best to find a doctor that has experience working with dark skin such as blacks.

I googled... Those results are too amazing to be true. What celebs have he worked with I wonder? Don't they say the plastic surgery across the border isn't safe? or are they just referring to the fly by night spots/dirt cheap places? I bet he is just as expensive as US docs. Great results tho if they aren't doctored. lol no pun intended

jd, this hoyo character, do you think he could do my cheeks? because we could definitely hit bogota as a team. facial surgery recover is NOTHING. you can have a full vacation. his website is hella difficult to navigate and i'm sitting here in starbucks looking at before and after pictures of tits and lowkey wishing i was fat so that i could get lipo because it looks so damn interesting.

mmmm, i'm not sure if skin thickness would be an issue for lipo. but again, lipo is something that i have no reason to know anything about. now SCARRING in the negro, that is something that you should be concerned about, and that is something you can run past each doctor you consider. a quick "how many coloreds do you operate on annually?" will suffice.

and stay off makemeheal. when looking for a surgeon, look for someone who does a high volume of whatever procedure you want. also, if you're still in school, your university library should have a subscription to jstor and you can search for "liposuction" (there are journals for plastic surgeons) and find out who are the preeminent lipo surgeons in their fields. or at least, this would be a good way for you to figure out what, if anything, black women need to be aware of when choosing a surgeon (whether or not skin thickness, darkness, etc makes a real difference).

i am on a mission to save black women from mac foundation but we are some stubborn motherfuckers.

plastic surgery isn't really a good time to shop on a budget. this is not saying pay no mind to price, but quality above everything. you want this shit done right the first time, and MANY women who go to mexico for ps end up going back to a us doctor and just paying the money to get the result they wanted.

south america is a great place for EVERYTHING, particularly colombia, because the societal pressure on women to be well-groomed is very high. and the dollar is strong (i am assuming this, at this point, the dollar and peso could be the same give our economic state) in south america, so you will inevitably save SOME money.

going abroad for surgery might make you feel more comfortable knowing that "hey, this doctor performs on people with brown skin all the time". with a sa doctor, you can assume that the majority of their patients have more melanin than patients in the us.

there have bound to be more ladies who've gotten lipo here, i'm sure they'll chime in soon. this is a really supportive place for plastic surgery. supportive without being weird like makemeheal.

also, mentioning how much volume you are trying to lipo might help with surgeon referrals! best =)

Co sign on MAC too. Although It isn't just brown women addicted. They have women from everywhere drinking that koolaid.

Don't matter to me, that's just more Make Up For Ever products for me to choose from while they're buying the same repromoted items in different colored packaging at MAC.

@pv, honestly, i am so confident in colombian female vanity that i would be willing to get tits done by just about any surgeon. find a colombian stripper and get a name.

I still been researching. I haven't found anything bad yet. I found a whole bunch of surgeons here that he trained but my thinking is why not go directly to the originator instead of his trainees? I dont know but thats my thought on that. I am with J.D. on this one... I too am saving up as we speak for my trip. Wish I could go today!

this thread is great! i want to find out more about this too. My cosmetic surgery wishlist:

    1. NATURAL looking breast augmentation, with DD's that look perky but not fake and are still soft and squishy.

    2. Hourglass waist surgery (if this even exists lol)

    3. Hip enhancement for curvier hips (mine of straight )

    4. Lipo on my legs and thighs

    5. Butt injections for a slightly larger, rounder bubble butt

    6. Possibly rhinoplasty. I have a nice nose and it isn't crooked or have any bumps but I want it to be PERFECT. lol.

As a multiethnic woman of color I've had the same concerns as the op! Hopefully we can get some more feedback

P.S. Camille thanks so much for posting about makemeheal. i had been frequenting that forum but a lot of the posts came across as spammish which made me a bit wary.

I did this, it's totally possible! I'm just a D though... but VERY natural, no upper cleavage, round full bottom

    2. Hourglass waist surgery (if this even exists lol)

Yes! Waist training with a corset! Check out www.romantasy.com If I remember correctly, Sue makes corsets that give you a wasp waist look over time, and Sharon makes them to give you more of an ice cream cone waist shape and help narrow your rib cage. I have a big rib cage and want to shrink the circumference.

    3. Hip enhancement for curvier hips (mine of straight )

You can do the same stuff that they do butt injections with (PMMA, hydrogel, Silikon 1000 in your hips! I've seen it on girl, it looked really good!

    4. Lipo on my legs and thighs

I've done it on my outer thighs, totally worth it! I want to say he only took out 400 cc, but it really made a difference in the shape of my body and muscle visibility. I want to go back for my inner thighs and "butt handles" or flanks and have fat transfer to reshape my booty.

    5. Butt injections for a slightly larger, rounder bubble butt

Go to somebody good! I've seen some fakey fake fake asses! Way too round, hard, tight and shiny!

    6. Possibly rhinoplasty. I have a nice nose and it isn't crooked or have any bumps but I want it to be PERFECT. lol.

I want this too, but my breast doctor said no I don't want the bridge broken, just the cartilage on the tip reshaped and the muscle cut so I don't get that downwards witchy pull when I smile.

Camille knows soooo much about cosmetic surgery, listen to her! Also, I like the www.yestheyrefake.net forums, Marianne is a great resource! Although sometimes I think she is biased to certain doctors, she's had sooo much done, and posts her pictures during surgery, immediately after, later on, etc. She is very discerning and critical, and she is always reviewing new procedures. It's also a great resource with more "experienced" people and not a bunch of amateurs who rave about every procedure and every doctor. The members on yesthey'refake have been around the block a few times.

    Angel,
DO NOT get silicone butt injections. I know girls who have them and they hate them and they look awful in years to come. You are better off having fat injected into them or implants. Silicone is so unsafe...if thats what u are referring too. From what I have found and seen Hoyos does the butt sculpting. Thats a big business in Columbia and Brazil. Hope that helps!

    *still saving up
