Yeah, strip clubs are sort of like casinos--the house always wins!

I'm not sure what kind of mat they are talking about--up here everybody jsut rolls around on the nasty stage--or not.

Find out what the other girls are using. Whatever it is, I bet they didn't pay all that much money for it.
Also, $100 of a first shift isn't bad, especially in the kind of club where you have to play the juke box. If that is the only tip-out or house fee you have, then consider yourself lucky! And, good on you for brushing off all those "maybe you weren't emant to be a stripper" bullsnot comments. I would think form the way you handled it that you do have the main thing you need to be a stripper--a thick skin and the courage and determination to keep at it.

Congrats on getting hired and good luck.

^ mats look something like this, but smaller and way less bulky.

i asked my friend an she told me bout some girl who works at another club who sells them an i'm like no. i have this thing about energy an i don't want another dancers energy on my mat. so i'm thinking buying some time of foam and makin a zip around type of cover with something on one side so i know which side i sit on. some girls also use these to keep there money cause you take it with you every where.

as far as hustle'n guys we don't have enough customers LOL to depend on that. like the first day i brought 3$ with my as good luck because i don't like takin money w/ me to work. i had to use that then i had to get the house to take it out of my pay as a loan LOL fuckn lame. so now i just take jukebox money with me. its so dead in there that i kinda wonder why did go go back. but the day i to talk to housemom there were people in the club so i figured it was how it was when i used to hostess there back in 09.

Find your beauty and sell it! We are all different and beautiful in our own way. Put off that energy that your are worth every dollar that you are asking for, be confident. Find outfits that compliment your body and shape. Wear shoes that you are able to walk and feel sexy in. Smile, laugh, try to make small talk, make sure you go that little extra mile while getting ready to put yourself together more. You'll feel sexier and it will help you feel more confident out on the floor with the guys. Be yourself and learn the beauty and art and don't ever sell yourself short. Good luck!

Oh woah, you need a gymnastics mat for work? Hard core. I have no idea how you'd make one of those, becasue you'd want the slip to fit really snug around the foam. I'd say try finding an inexpensive one on eBay

    ^ Thanks 4ever!

I was actually trying to be helpful.

I'm good friends with a dancer who spends at least $100 of her own money each shift on booze. Cute girl, and a real sweetheart when she's sober. She's been fired from 3 clubs in the area for drinking (yes, it's THAT bad) and claims she can't work without drinking, if she runs out of clubs she will "have to" become an escort. ** Her? Yeah, not meant to be a stripper.

Other girls, the job starts to affect the negatively emotionally - not meant to be strippers.

Girls who have been in this business for a while have seen it change for the worse. It's an oversaturated market - many clubs will hire anything with a pussy and a pulse - just because you're hired doesn't mean you should be a stripper.

Go find the thread JD (I think it was her) posted - there's no handbook on this stuff, nobody tells you "Stop! This isn't right for you!" - you have to live and learn. So, yes, I was trying to help.

**ETA - nobody "has to" become a stripper or escort. There's a thing called a student loan which you can take out like the vast majority of the population (my friend doesn't seem to realize this)!

This place sounds very unusual -jukebox?? I've never worked at a club that doesn't at least have a dj. Sounds like you girls are putting too much money back into the club. Have you checked out other clubs in Hawaii -I've heard good things about the top 3 over there when I was doing research myself.

As for the mat -I've heard of this, but only in Hawaii. I've worked all over in Chicago, a few dif places in Vegas & a few dif places in New Orleans in the years I've been doing this & we usually just roll all over the stage & the poles (bouncers will wipe em down in between girls, though).

And as for the comment, not everyone is meant to be a stripper (that is not bs!)-that is very true. But you are still very, very new to this industry so time will tell. I personally couldn't figure out how to get into the higher earnings until i had been doing this for about 6 -7months. So it does take alot of time & practice. Many times you will tweak your look or try a completely different look than before. Trying dif approaches & looks until you find the right fit for you is very important. Now after 6 -9 months, if you still can't get the hang of it then its either time to try a different city/state or make a career change. That amount of time is usually a good amount of time to figure it out in my past experience & many others.

As for escorting & stripping -it's not fair to compare the two. They are completely different beasts. I've known a few escorts/ho's/ prostitutes in my day that def could not make it stripping (or at least not following the rules anyways) -but then I'm sure there are many of us that would not be able to emotionally or professionally be able to handle escorting. Neither one is better or less than the other but very, very different. So please do not compare the two. Thank you.

Watch & study what the other girls do on stage & in dances or hustle -try to pick up tips from them. This is probably the most helpful thing you can do. When I start @ a new club -I like to spend the first hour or two w/ a drink or cocktail studying the girls, the stage & how the club works. It usually will benefit me. Sometimes, you realize a particular club is not for you this way early on & figure out that you need to change clubs. That way you do not waste your valueable time or the clubs.

    Good luck, dear!
