Consistency is key. The only way get more people in your room besides being consistent and doing gold shows is to self promote yourself, a great thread on that.
with a few helps during slow times but sometimes its just dead all around. Some fawn upon multitasking but it helped me and I do whats needs to be done to save/maintain my sanity. I have become the queen of multitasking, lol. When I cammed I'd splitcam and when it got deadly slow I'd watch tv (youtube, netflix, kodi), browse the net....mainly researching other ways to make money, edit videos, etc. When I watched tv I'd either turn the sound down really low and keep my mic on, mute the tv and keep my mic on, or mute my mic and keep the tv sound on....when I'd mute my mic I'd keep the tv remote right next to my keyboard and would just mute the tv and unmute my mic whenever I got a show.
Its sounds like alot but it became a system for me, it become so simple to do all of those things at the same time. The key is though is to still look like you're enthused on a cam and to still pay attention to your rooms. Again for me it was easy. I found that the slightest bit of energy feels really draining when traffic is really slow. So I stopped smile all the time because it took way too much energy. Instead I just kept it neutral with a very slight smile. I got multiple monitors and also utilized windows splitscreen so that I could easily see and get to everything instead of possible loosing a show because of having to tab through tons of tabs on 1 or 2 monitors. I kept my camrooms open on a few screens, browsed the web and edit videos on another screen and watched tv on another screen. I'd also made sure I sat up straight and keep my body facing the direction of the camera and would sexily look at the camera if and when someone cam into my room. Doing all of that allowed me to work more hours without going batshit or feeling completely drained. If I didn't do all of that I probably would've logged off within the first 30min-60mins because it was so painfully slow even with camming on 3+ sites.
