@Ruby This has happened to me several times. I usually verify them by temporarily blocking them in e-mail settings, then checking their payment history in my block list. If they actually bought the vid, then I unblock them and send the video link. If they're trying to scam me I report and ban them. It takes a few extra minutes, but it's worth it to avoid giving scammers free vids. Some ladies give out passwords during their goldshows to avoid that issue, which would work great if you give out vids to everyone in the show (I only send vids to people who tip over X amount).

I'm pretty sure that there's a way to sign up and get a screen name without providing a credit card. That's the difference between the guys in "Guest Chat" (the middle box) and "Free Chat" (the 3rd box). Guys in "Guest Chat" are logged in and have a card on file. Guys in "Free Chat" are logged in without a credit card. If a guy or perving model isn't logged in at all or has never signed up for a customer account, you will have no way of knowing that s/he's there. Those are the people that won't be able to find you if you have geoblocking and they don't know your name.
What I don't know is... If you go to Start My Show>Settings>Allow Free Chat (no credit card), and you choose "no", it gets rid of the "Free Chat" third box on your screen. But can no-credit-card-guys still enter your room and watch you?
I've had some guys in the "Free Chat" box type things like "Can you see me? Can you see what I'm typing?" If it's slow, I might respond that I can see them, and then they ask why other models don't see them. That makes me think that with Free Chat disabled, the guys can still watch you in free chat and type things to you, and they're only "blocked" in the sense that you don't ever see them or what they say.
I've also always wondered, if you perv on a model without logging in as a customer, why is there a box for you to type to the model? I just tested this, and you can type stuff there AND send it, and what you wrote shows up on the chat log as "Guest: [whatever you said]." As a model, I have never seen anything from "Guest" appear in my chat log, so I assume models don't see anything written by guys that aren't logged in at all (thank god!). So why does SM lead people (guys that aren't logged in, guys that have no credit card listed) to believe that they're chatting to the model if the model can't even see them? Why isn't the "Enter Text Here" area blocked out with a note to sign up or enter a card if they want to chat with the model?

Anyway, I have a question. I followed the link and instructions to download the HD encoder. I installed it. I checked the settings. SM wouldn't start a show until I'd closed that, so I did. I started a show and top left of my streaming pic it said "HD". Does this mean I am definitely streaming my shows in HD?
No, if the encoder is working correctly there will be a whole separate window with your stream, and you will not see yourself in the window to the left of the chat on SM.

that thread should help.

Am I not allowed to view any other ladies? Keeps just taking me back to my dashboard whenever I try to look at anyone's feed!
Indeed very good points Magical, i wanted to ask further more about all these details myself but did not wanted to clog the thread with my questions, also kinda difficult for me to get the right phrasing in english, very little people understood what i asked anyway (thank you to the ones that gave valuable input xoxo).

No one can hear my audio! I've done all the troubleshooting, all seems to be OK, but still no one can hear meWhat am I doing wrong please?

Here's what I can tell you about geoblocking.
White labels and the main SM site generally respect it and pull any model with a geoblock restriction OFF of the main page listings IF the person viewing them isn't logged into a customer account (customer account meaning registered CC guy who would appear under the 'guest' tab in your chat). However, if the person who isn't logged in has your direct room link they can still view your feed. Yes, these free chat guys CAN send messages, but those messages aren't going to show up unless the model has the 'free chat' tab enabled.
White labels and the main SM site will show a model in the listings if the person viewing is logged into a customer account AND they are not in the restricted region. If the customer is logged in and from the restricted area (ex. New York), then the model does not appear AND typing a direct link for her room into the URL will not allow them to access the model's feed.
Cammodel directory generally doesn't list models who have geoblock in place in the main listings, but a direct link (your cammodels link, specifically) will allow anyone to view the feed (geoblocked region or no). However, the rules for who gets to send messages are the same in that the model will only see 'guest chat' messages. If she has 'free chat' enabled then she will also see the free chat customer messages, regardless of geoblock.
Overall, geoblocking cuts down on the number of non-registered customers who can view your room greatly, but if they have a direct link they can still view you. As for registered customers, geoblocking still leaves you on the 'main page' of models and allows them access to your room so long as they are not part of your geoblocked region.
That help any?

OK, here's my screengrabs...
Note that I close the encoder when opening SM otherwise I get an error message about something already being in use, or similar (will post if important)

I don't know why I can't get the second attachment to workIt's not like I'm pc illiterate! GRRRRRRRRR

catSM.jpg
why won't this work??

The encoder needs to stay open for it to work. Are you selecting the 'external encoding' option when you're on the SM streaming page? If you are, when you click 'start my show' on that page, you should get a pop up with two strings of information that you put into the encoder under the 'FMS URL' and 'stream' options.

Walking through it...
I open the encoder.
I open the SM Dash, and then click "start my show" which opens the chat window.
I see a black square where my pic should be on the "start my show". There are two pics of me on the encoder.
I click "start my show" under the black square. Someone comes in. They complain they can't see me and leave.

Let's start all over because there are several options. When you are using encoder you will not see yourself in the chatroom window, you will only see yourself on the encoder. The reason you are "starting your show" and seeing yourself is because you are choosing another option from the dropdown menu or it is choosing one for you.
When you go onto "start my show" from the streammatemodels dashboard (the big green button that says start my show) it will take you to the launch page. At the top of the page it will say My Cam and Quality. From that drop down menu you will be able to select "external encoding" at the very bottom.
Under the black box that says "external encoder" in red there is a large green button that also says "start my show". Once you click that you will get a pop up of 2 links. You will only get the pop ups if you've selected "external encoder".
The first link replaces the link on the encoder FMS URL and the 2nd link is to be replace the STREAM link. Once this has been done, press "start" and you will be live. Once you are done streaming for the day, hit stop on the encoder to stop streaming.

Kortney is correct. When using the encoder, you'll hit start on that as well and that's how you start streaming. Otherwise, you're just using the SM website and not the encoder. Your mic is likely still locked in for use on the encoder, which is why you aren't streaming with audio. As Anonymous just said, you need to select the proper microphone for streaming. If you aren't using the encoder and the mic is set to that instead of to use on the SM site, then no audio. Just gotta get all of that sorted out.
The perfect answer Issabelle, that's what i figured myself from all the talking & facts i knew but u just added the last piece of soo much needed information, thank you soo much!! Yes, very little users actually know 'our special link' so that's not an issue for me, who knows that is my model friends because i gave it to them (or they know how to use it) or members who registered thru it & i receive my 'special commission' from *wink*.
Thank you again for taking the time to explain these all!! Much love, Hugs!
