I'm the opposite -- I can't stand typing (well, not on a social/chat platform like this, that is. I used to be a professional transcriber, so I technically love typing, but I hate it in a communicative sense.)
I individually greet everyone that comes in my room. I start with typical small talk (hey, what's up, how are you, etc.) and usually they reciprocate. I rarely do the fake/cliche "I'm so horny right now" bit when they ask me how I'm doing. Instead I genuinely tell them about my actual day/mood, or talk about whatever is on my mind; in my experience giving the guys a less contrived experience and being more authentic is a lot more appealing to most of them than trying to push privates in a really obvious way. I tend to snag a lot of cool new custies based on actual shared interests.
One of the most valuable things camming has taught me is how to initiate conversation and be more confident with the way I speak -- before this I was super introverted and shy. I still am in many ways, but I've gotten a lot more comfortable with general socializing. Although I still greatly prefer to talk to anonymous/virtual names on a screen than an actual face in real life.![]()
