    Default Software/PC Help Thread

    Hey Ladies....

I know that some of you ladies have PC issues as well as software issues.

I am here to offer my help when it comes to these things because I want to be able to help you guys. I know some people are not as brainsmart in the ways of computers - so here is the thread for it.

I know that you girls can't afford the cost of software where as I cannot either. I know that it SUCKS because there are some things that we do need to use in the business to watermark or what not and with the COST of it - it gets very discouraging.

However, I do know where you can attain the programs with license keys - YES it's pirated keys and stuff but they are fully functional for use. It is what it is though. I am not telling you guys this for malicious reasons - I am telling you guys this because it's a resource you guys do not have available it seems.

I can get anyone almost anything they need BUT I stay away from the larger things like Adobe and all that. The only larger one I use is Microsoft Office. Reason being is because I have to put the files on Mediafire for you to get access to. If I were to take Adobe Creative Suite and upload it - it wouldn't only take me days, but take up a shitload of space at 5 GB. LOL.

There is an alternative to Microsoft Office. It is called OpenOffice.org. It is a free open productivity suite and it's basically Microsoft Office. - They even have plug-ins and such for more functionality and what not. be sure to check that out.

I am talking about any type of software you might need for your cam business whether it be web page design to a cam program of some sort.

Please keep in mind that I will TRY to get it - it doesn't mean that I can. I know I know some people are gonna get pissed because it's promoting piracy or what not - but I am not stealing anyone's cam names or making money off them. I am just helping my fellow cam girls IF they need it. I sure as hell do not have thousands of dollars to get this stuff - do you?

Like I said, I am offering a helping hand to any girl that needs one when it comes to a PC problem or a SOFTWARE issue.

I want this thread to be where you can post if you have a problem with your PC or a software issue. For example...

    - Can't get your cam to work?
    - recommendations on a new cam?
    - software to edit pix & videos
    - drivers and general PC issues for viruses and what not...
    - help obtaining a program or help with working a program you might not be familiar with.
    - ANYTHING PC or SOFTWARE related.
    - What type of PC should I buy to cam with?
    - What type of webcam should I cam with?

Another example is this - Here is what I use for my business as a cam girl.

    1. Quicken & Quickbooks - This is my main financial software. I use this to help find out how my sales are doing and how much money I am making. I use this to keep track of my money, personal and business wise. It integrates with my bank account online. It has completely capability to do graphs and forecasting. It can also tell me what products are doing the best/worst, etc.

    2. Wondershare Video Converter Platinum Edition - I use this to edit my videos. I use this to put in watermarks, crop my videos, clip my videos and convert them into other file formats such as AVi.

    3. PDF2IMAGE - You ladies know how whenever you sign up for a cam site and it's in a PDF file and you have to print it and then send it back...it's a hassle. Instead of taking pictures of the file, here you can just open the PDF and change it to a PICTURE after you have filled it out. I haven't had much play with this software yet - but other people have told me it is kick ass.

    4. PDF Password - This helps me unlock PDF files that are locked by someone else if I have downloaded it off the Internet. You know, you get a PDF file that is locked and you cannot edit it? This program gets around it.

    5. SlimDrivers - This keeps my PC up to date. It is free. It scans all the drivers in your system and keeps them up to date at all times.

    6. LegalZoom - handy program for legal documents.

    7. Pidgin - Handy multi-messenger that I use.

    8. Skype - you get it. LOL.

    9. Artisteer - Blog & template design.

    10. Serif WebPlus X5 and Serif PagePlus X5 - this is HANDY for Web Site Design and Web Site creation. I just got it so I will keep you posted.

    11. BitTorrent - If you are familiar with downloading programs - then you know what a torrent file is. For example, you know how when you searched limewire for a song and you just clicked to download it - this works almost the same way. When you are on a site that is predominately torrent based, you download the torrent then plug it into this program and it downloads the content for you.
I know that many of you are looking for programs and editing software for videos and pix to edit or do whatever it is that you do. Even other software as well...

    12. WebcamMax - It is a a good program for effects while being on cam.

    13. TeamViewer - I SUGGEST EVERYONE DOWNLOADS THIS. This is like a buddy system. It enables you and a person to work together. You can see each other's desktops and see what the other is doing. So - say you had a problem and you couldn't explain it. Many people would rather SHOW than explain because it is easy for them. This is the program that does it. The full detailed description is below. I use it ALOT to help my friends across the world with issues on their PCs. It's a FREE PROGRAM.

Again - This is something I am offering to help you ladies. I am not charging anything for it either. The only thing I will ask is that you follow my blog. That's all. LOL.

I hope in time this thread will answer MANY questions for the PC and software challenged.

    thanks for posting this thread!

if you could get license keys for adobe photoshop and/or creative suite that would be amazing. i've bought and paid for two versions of photoshop (after pirating it for years when i was younger) but neither of them work with windows 7 64-bit, and i can't afford to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars AGAIN. but photoshop has become much less piratable since the last time i pirated it and i haven't had any luck

here are some tools i love:

workflowy.com - it's a free to-do list tool. i actually keep most of my life there now, lol, including a lot of my online work and writing (in notes). i keep track of business expenses and things like that in it as well.

piratepad.net - collaborative writing tool, sort of like google docs but i find it much easier to work with, and it has a chatbox.

pinnacle videospin - free video editing tool. i use it for my videos - you can watermark in it as well as add transitions, credits, etc.

gimp - free image editing tool. it's what i've been using to get by now that i don't have photoshop - it's very feature-rich.

vuze - the torrenting program i use. it searches several torrent sites in one tool and i've had great experiences with it over the last few years.

sent ya the information I found love. Keep in mind - normally what I find are cracks that you install along with the programs. I do not know if the serials do work. Please let me know if they do.

I'm joining this thread. I might be able to give a help here and there lol.

Remember, though, that piracy discussions are not allowed (as in, sharing software illegaly).

I want to recommend some software:

    * Microsoft Security Essentials: Great Anti Virus, doesn't really consumes resources and it hasn't given any false positive so far in my experience, and best of all: it's free.

    * MalwareBytes anti malware: Another great free anti virus suite, it's free, you can combine it with any other anti virus and use it as a malware removal tool.

    * Splitcam: The freeware alternative to WebcamMax, they say it works wonders, haven't tried it yet. It supports HD video.

I though they were not allowed here...

Anyway, just to be careful, I'd advise to either keep it on PM's or not discuss it at all, just in case.

I am not worried about it. I read the Forum rules before I posted anything and it didn't say anything about piracy. It only said about underage and obscene material. Software piracy is accessible to anyone as well as kiddie porn - it's just a matter of what is more offensive I guess. My intention is not malicious - it is to help the girls.

That's all. If the government wants to collar my ass for it - they can collar the rest of the millions of people who do it as well. It's something that happens and just won't change. I understand what you are saying though by the CYA rule - but in order for us to be successful in the cam world - we can't spend our hard earned money on the thousands dollars of software that we need in order to make ourselves look good...

So I thank the geeky lil network hackers that do it for us. It's kinda like - the guy who looks at porn all day from his Mom's basement. It's the same thing...except swap the porn for a PC.

i found a bunch of free business/organize software tools. it seems to have everything you need to keep your home based business organized.

i have countless folders and papers and note books coming out of my ears and i need it all in one place to stay on top of things. it even has different types of alarm clock/reminder tools to keep you on your feet if you need help to stop procrastinating.

i think this will help alot.

Hey Bubble - I was looking at that site...

The bad news is, many of the things that are on there aren't compatible with Windows 7....

it's ok for me because I know where to get my stuff elsewhere but that sucks because that's alot of great things for free.

Thanks so much for all of these! You guys are AWESOME! I am totally clueless when it comes to techy stuff lol! So all this stuff in one place is so relieving to me cuz I get frustrated and confused even with just with the search of this kind of stuff!
So I am wondering if if there's any stuff for Mac? I've been trying to figure out how to get and run Windows on my Mac so I can start to cam. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
Oh and if its post it somewhere else please excuse me cuz I'm just really bad at searching like I said!

Bettie - you are very welcome.

There is stuff out there for Mac. Unfortunately - I do not use Mac. I never did and I am not good with it. I am sure there are some girls here who are good with it that will chime in eventually that will be able to help with it. However, I am sure the programs and installations and tweaks or what not are pretty much the same.

No worries hun - this is why I started the thread. I know that some are not PC blessed like me and need the help! That's why I am here - to help!

To run windows on your Mac you first definitely need a copy of the software for Windows, Windows 7 is a great OS and runs well. You can either partition your hard drive through Bootcamp so that you can turn off your computer and then boot it up with the new OS or you can use a program such as Parallels for Mac that you install first that allows you to run both OSs at the same time. I personally love Parallels, it was a little expensive at the Apple store but it lets me run Windows without having to reboot my computer and has all my docs, apps, etc still available with having to email them to myself to redownload. You can literally have your windows desktop running in a window on your Mac desktop...confusing, but if you look up the program it'll definitely explain it better lol. So far I haven't experienced any lag using it on my Macbook Pro.

So since I don't have much to offer I'll just post a site that I use for streaming music cuz that's all I got! Don't know if anyone uses GrooveShark but since I've been using it I barely ever listen to my own music library! You can listen to practically any artist/album/song! I love it! If I find more stuff i'll be sure to post it here! Lets get this sticky!!
