awesome! do you wrk SM? if you do, how well does it handle with the encoder? i am still waiting for approval w/SM. i have the logitech quick cam pro 9000, i luv that lil cam![]()
^^^yea i never had any issues with it at all w/camming but i just never used it w/an encoder before. i am sure it will wrk fine. i will have to come back here and post on how it wrks when i start up w/SM. but yea the 9000 is a really cool cam and it is very clear. it's pretty popular w/the cam girls which is why i bought it in the first place and i totally luv it! it's nothing fancy, but i think it's neat and nifty and easy to wrk with..Lol.![]()
I cam on a Dell. Not sure of the specs but it's at least 5 yrs old, maybe more. Works great though. I've never had a problem with it.

The technology for streaming is not very demanding on a PC, any recent dual-core system with a GPU made to display HD video (recent Intel HD, ATI, nVidia) will do.
For camming I have a business quality internet connection from my ISP, who will sell badass upload speeds to business clients. Legally I'm a sole proprietor of my freelance business in webcam performance, which gives me other tax breaks, and qualification for those business-to-business promotions.
I then bought my laptop from Dell. It's a Vostro, their professional quality line, these are very durable, well-cooled, aluminum case, comes with a few bells and whistles, overall this is a reliable and well done machine with no shitty hardware glitches. I will never get a cheap laptop brand again, it's just not worth it when so many are lemons.

I have an HP Pavilion dv6000
works great for camming but I have never splitcammed so I dunno how well it would do
it's three and a half years old and it has been through a lot - lol!
I'm surprised at so many HP haters - I love my HP! And I just ordered another one ... so excited to get a new one![]()

I currently cam on Macbook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of ram. I have the logitech C910 and use the hd encoder. I brought it new in 2008. I have no problems with it using the encoder. Every once in a while it (the encoder) will act funny but I think its more on my part, cause the longer I do this cam thing the more Im understanding the encoder and rooms etc. Oh Im on sm by the way

When I was on MFC I cammed using an ASUS eee PC (netbook) and it worked just fine. I also use a desktop computer. I'm gonna be starting with SM as soon as I'm approved there, does the encoder there require better computer specs? Do you think my netbook will be able to handle it alright?
I"m looking at an " ASUS N56VJ-DH71 15.6-Inch Full-HD 1080P Laptop, but it has Windows 8".....Anyone have experience with Windows 8 and what do you think?

I spent some time comparing the ASUS entertainment model and an HP DV6-7014nr (someone else on this board, I can't remember who, said she had this one and loved it). I decided on getting the HP before it sold out in the windows 7. I spend an hour watching vids on how to use Windows 8, and since I don't want a pc with a touchscreen, it just seemed kind of pointless. I'll report back. Amazon had really good reviews on the HP.
My last laptop was a Dell Inspiron, i5 with a 1G dedicated graphics card. I think the graphics card on the HP is 2G dedicated Nvidia. Not sure if any of that makes a difference.
