Eventually, Paxum got back to me saying it was their processor rejecting the transaction because they deemed it too high risk (I guess because I'm in the UK?). Anyway, I tried it again a few days ago and it worked! It costs $6.50 plus 3%. I tested it with $50 (therefore cost me $57.50 from my Paxum e-wallet). It landed in my account a couple of days later as £40. My statement just lists it as a series of numbers and "Belfast". My bank (HSBC) hasn't charged me a currency conversion fee, so that's good. Maybe the conversion is done on their end before they transfer it, hence the 3%. So anyway, if you have to use Paxum and you're in the UK, you can withdraw money via WIRE for $50, apply for one of their pre-paid Mastercards for $44.95 (plus loading and ATM fees), or withdraw onto your own debit/credit card for $6.50 plus 3%. Unless your bank account was previously verified before Sept, you still can't do an EFT withdrawal directly into your bank account.
