I had a shared dream with an ex of mine and I thought it was a quirky rare thing. Now that I've seen Inception I'm wondering if it more common than I thought. Anybody else share a dream with somebody?

Yes! Thank god I'm not alone! My ex and I did that once, where I had a dream that I was dying under a jungle canopy, I was struggling to breathe, and I gradually realized as I died that I had been in a battle. She called me sad the next morning almost in tears because she had a dream that she had been crying on a grass hill with a box of photos, looking at pictures of me in uniform and in the dream knowing that I had been killed in battle......

Oh man. That's scary. My dream was a bit cheerier. We were having a conversation about some unspoken things in our relationship. We spent the day together and ended up on a porch talking about whether we would spend our lives together and making fun of how each of us would look old. I woke up first and he was still talking and waiting for an answer.

I have had this happen to me once, and it was very very weird. But I don't think our dream is ominous or prophetic, i think it's just one of those "Truth-is-stranger-than-fiction" rare occurances, ya know?It DID freak me out for about a month, especially since we both got killed in the end, but i got over it lol
I'm hoping that Zachary Quinto and I have shared dreaming, because I'd be MUCH more likely to get in his pants if he's been having the same steaming hot dreams about me that I've been having about him![]()

I dream really, really vividly - I always have done, and I always thought I was wierd 'cos none of my friends did. However, I've never had a shared dream experience or even heard of it before - despite being married to the same guy for well over 20 years. The spooky thing is that he dreams incredibly detailed dreams too.
So I'd love to have one - if only to find out what we would dream about.......!

I think I had one. I told an ex a dream and she said hers was similar.
But one thing I DO notice in my life that continues, is that when I have a very vivid dream about an ex who was very important to me, apparently they were thinking about me around that time as well.
I've been able to talk to some exes after I had such a dream and they confirmed that they were thinking about me around that same week. I don't know why this happens, and I haven't had one in about a year or so, but when it happens it kinda freaks me out and I wonder why the other person was thinking about me as well. If I don't get to talk to them, I just kinda gotta let it go...which I hate.

No, but it sounds interesting, & I actually didn't know it existed! I have had lucid dreaming, & dreams that happened, 'warning' dreams that were difficult to decipher.

Loved "Inception"....brilliant.
I've never had a shared dream. But it could be possible.
tbh though some people are brilliant liars/manipulators and could easily talk someone into thinking they shared a dream (called "cold reading" using info you draw out of someone to build an uncanny scenario aka fake Psychics.)
