Is 27 too old to move to Vegas?
Notice I didn't say, "too old to dance". I have been stripping in LA from age 21-25, I took a year off, thinking I was basically retired and going to marry this guy. Well needless to say things didn't go that way and now I am bored out of my mind in Northern California. Stripping again but it's lackluster because I never expect any real money to walk in the door. I am usually the top earner wherever I work but letely I feel like my face/attitude are putting me in the "older" category. I still got it though and I know if I quit before I'm ready I'll be upset I could have made more $. My dad is like, telling me to get into Real estate, like be his agent as he buys and sells frequently... but I figure with the market down like it is and having waited this long, I might as well truck it out to Vegas where I can give it an honest go! And be able to AFFORD a career change! Basically he is a jerk anyway and never offered to help me until now. I just don't have any other reason to stay here if not to work for/with him. Maybe I should have changed the question to "is it worth it to make shitty stripping money if your dad is dangling a straight-job carrot at you? Lol...Oh and I'm not looking for anyone to tell me "how the money is", I'm just curious if you guys think 27 is a little old to be planning a temporary move to Vegas, say 1-3 years, if I do not intend to buy property there.

Yay!! Every minute that passes I get more excited. I am not a fan of smoking, thats my only worry, BUT I have no friends in this area, and there's no reason to go back to LA because I was never an actress... The ex is telling me I'll regret it, that I should "come home" but after 10 breakups amd nine makeups I am truly done. bahhhh

As long as you look good it's never too old.

I'm 28 and i'm planning on moving to Vegas. My advice is make sure you have a club to work at. As some of the clubs claim to be in a "hiring freeze". I don't know if that's a nice way of rejection or if it's true. I went a month ago to get hired before I jumped into moving. good luck!

^^^ It IS true that a lot of our clubs are in a hiring freeze. With 2 recently shut down, the market is super saturated with girls right now.

If you're still in good shape - 27 is DEFINITELY not too old. At my current club, we have 15 or so girls that are over 30. 2 of them are consistent top earners. A couple of them are some scary broads that have been working there since God was born, so no one fires them. They're kinda like the furniture at this point. Something you see every day, but don't really pay attention to, you know?

The real big clubs are really saturated. Sapphire, Rhino, etc. but it's still possible to get jobs. Especially if you're willing to take off shifts or work a "dive" bar. Actually - I just switched from the big clubs back to dives and I'm consistently making more money.

Age really has nothing to do with it here in Vegas. It's all in how you look and how you present yourself, you know?

I'm going to agree that 27 isn't too old to be there, I have friends who were dancers & moved out there during their mid 30's... yet still do great at SR! However, I personally wouldn't be trucking it out there expecting to make great money. I think the entire market is still down, & Vegas has really been over-worked in the last decade. If you are good at establishing customers, there are smaller areas that are less known with better potential.

I 100% agree with this! Make sure you have a place to work before you move yourself out there.

Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I have danced in Vegas since I was 19 and I just turned 27, not only do I make more money now but my target customer base ( fetish clients, couples with a girl who wants to be there and middle age men in golf shirts) seem to relate to me more. I have a few friends in their mid 30's who make more money than all of us younger gals. Age is a state of mind and ask yourself this if you were a 45 year old man who would you rather talk to a college freshman or a 28 year old?
