Default Smaller club with less competition or bigger club with more?

I work at a small club located in a college town. Because of summer, there are hardly any customers, yet more girls that ever. I get frustrated coming in at 8 and waiting around for hours for the place to get busy. I am the top earner at my club right now.

I was wondering if it is better to move to a bigger city with more competition yet more customers and probably more big spenders, or stay at a small club with practically no competition but a lot less customers. Three different customers told me last night that I should move on to the bigger clubs. Also, I do not do extras, and was wondering if this would affect my earnings in the bigger clubs.

I love the hustle and do well with businessmen, but there are just not enough people right now to work my magic. This is why I'm leaning heavily towards new club in a bigger city. I'm just worried this could backfire because I would not stand out.

When I say lots of girls, I mean that they will sit with the same customer all night but not get dances from him. They will only get drinks or stage tips. Sometimes there are 2 or 3 girls sitting with one customer. So it's hurting my hustle because I can sell dances while a lot of girls are happy making $100 a night. So competition, but not? Haha

I am going to give the other clubs a try I think. :-)

I think it can be really beneficial to your hustle to use the slow months in your regular club to try a different club. I do this and always bring back different skills.

If you're making enough money (this is terribly subjective because as you say, some girls are happy with $100/shift) then why leave? If you're getting bored there though, by all means, try out another club - like BOTM said, you don't have to quit your club, and you certainly don't have to stick with the new club if it doesn't work out. That's the great thing about this industry! Just know that a new/big club doesn't =/= big money. It's likely going to require a different hustle than you're used to, and it could have more partying customers who aren't spenders. But give it a shot, you never know!

I am looking at going to a much bigger club than my last club and I really intimidated by all the girls there. I don't know what the girls look like, but the club has a rep for having really striking girls. I am not ugly, but I know there will be some perfect tens in there...and it's a biiig club in an area where rich businessmen from all walks of life come in there ready to drop some cash in the CR. I am really nervous but I think I want to make the change. Thanks all for helping me make the final decision on whether or not I should try a bigger club with more girls and more competition!

So, is it better to be a big fish in a little sea, or a small fish in a big sea.

Personally, I'd rather be small fish in a big sea, because at least there is room to grow. A bigger club has more potential, and there's no reason you can't learn to be a top earner at a new club, with a higher earning ceiling.

Try some place new a few nights a week, and compare your earnings.

    Good luck!

I go through this debate with myself pretty much weekly. I work at two clubs, one smallish club outside of Philadelphia and one large club in the city. I sort of move back and forth between them to have the best of both worlds.

Stay at ur current club while venturing out a day or two to the bigger club. That way no bridges rnt burnt and u can safely test the water.

Give the bigger club a shot. You'll always wonder "what if" if you don't! And if you don't feel as though you'll "stand out," perhaps try to step up your look a bit before you audition -- try some clip-in extensions or a hot new outfit -- just a little something to boost your confidence a bit.

    !
I really like how you put this! I think I'm ready to grow, especially after tonight. Hardly any customers, tons of girls, girls starting drama with me and smack talking to customers about me, DJ being annoying, etc. I'm just fed up.

I checked out other clubs and I really liked the supposed "top" club in the biggest city in my state. Good vibe, good location, club is more flexible, and takes less money from me! It also upped my confidence as a dancer because I think I could fit in there. Management told me to come in and audition any weekday when they open, so hopefully I'll get hired, and be a richer, happier stripper!

    Thanks all!

I just made this transition myself and I've found the larger club to be more profitable. Although, I do miss the laid back, easy-going vibe of the smaller club.

Good Luck trying out the big club! I like mixing it up, I like working really small clubs once in a while because being the big fish really boosts my confidence when I return to the big clubs.

I've tried big clubs and small clubs; I'd stick with the smaller ones 'cause they're more fun; I rather go home with barely 300 bucks made in a small club, and have fun doing it than making 600 in a larger club and being miserable (bitchy dancers, terrible managers, customers insisting on extras, etc).

In other words, if I have to choose between "quantity of life" versus quality of life; I'd stick with the second.

I wouldn't mind that either if I was actually making $300 consistently. Try more like $150-200 and hated for it when girls are crying in the DR because they're taking home $20. I used to make $350-550 a night before summer hit and there were less girls. Lots of our girls soley rely on stage tips which is impossible to make any money off of on only a handful of customers. It's a low hustle (or no hustle) environment when I am hustling my ass off all night...
