    Duh Help please

    HI!!

I want to become a stripper but have some worries. First, I want to keep my family from knowing. I live in Orlando, Florida and wouldn’t want to strip near home. I’m wondering if working 3 hours away (in another city) is a good idea?? Is 3 hours away to close? I'm thinking somewhere north of Orlando. I don’t want to take the risk of anyone finding out! Second, will I make enough cash to make up for all the gas I'll be using? A reason I want to become a dancer is for the cash! I just love the thought of making a lot of money.
Also, I don’t want anyone in the club knowing my real name. If possible not even the managers, but I know they ask for ID's. Are managers usually aware of privacy and don’t share your name or personal information with others in the club?

First up, usually the managers couldn't even tell you your real name unless they went to look it up. I had one of my managers write me a letter for renting a new apartment, and he came out onto the floor to find me and ask me my real name because he didn't know it and he couldn't even find the photocopy of my ID. In all three clubs I've worked at, they've photocopied my driver's license and then it's been shoved in a drawer among the masses lol. If you want to be really inconspicuous, when you leave the club for good you can ask for your photocopy back, and they'll have no record of you. I'm not sure how Florida is in terms of permits or whatever - in some towns/states dancers need to get a permit from the sheriff's department, and it usually requires fingerprinting, a fee and an official record of it. Make sure you're not going to one of those places.

Secondly, a three hour drive both ways is MUCH too far. I drive 2.5 hours for mine for the same reason, but I stay in town for 4-7 days at a time and work every night. Driving 3 hours home after being on your feet and working for 6-8 hours is asking for a car wreck, not to mention the crazy gas money and mileage on your car. Remember that you'll have bad nights as well as good. Driving that far for big $$$ is great, but what if you work all night and only make $50, and then you've spent more than that just to get there? If you're going to drive like that, you'd be cheaper to get a motel and just work like crazy for a set amount of days, then go home for a few days, etc. Honestly, you really don't need to go that far away to not be seen anyway, unless there are no decent clubs in between. No guy is going to drive more than a hour for any club, especially if he's driving past other clubs to get there. Skip your local clubs and go a few towns over, and you'll be good.

The poster above is exactly right. When I had my first ever interview to dance, the manager told me to pick a stage name, and then he said 'Pretty soon I'll forget you ever had a real name, and you will too!'

Sometimes licencing comes in to check ID's etc, and then girls always have to go home and find theirs because the photocopies the club makes never seem to be around any more. When guys ask me if a girl they know is dancing, I'm like '...is that her stage name? Oh.. yea we only know stage names!'. So don't stress too much about that.

And also 3 hrs is wayy to far away to be driving... just the fact that you could possible fall asleep on the wheel after working all night is a reason not to do it. Stay the night somewhere cheap if you're going to be working that far away, but honestly the chances of someone you know coming in a really minimal!! Like 45 mins away would probably be my upper limit, if you're really worried
