    Default What brand of webcam?

I have gone through three webcams recently. Some are good with smooth motion, but the most recent was terrible! Choppy, laggy... altogether a waste of money. I'm looking into HD webcams on ebay that are compatible with my mac, does anyone have a good review of a webcam with a clear, crisp image? I'm desperate here! I thought my image quality was good, but after spying on myself while I was working the other day i realized that it's pretty pixelated.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm using a Mac as you can tell from my icon

I have Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro (Mac compatible only) and I recently upgrade to Logitech c910 (Mac & Windows compatible). I upgraded since it's supports both platforms although I mostly use Mac platform if I ever want to use Windows I don't have to get separate webcam to use Windows. I would recommend getting Logitech c910 HD verse Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro the reason because it offers out dated features. Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro it's a plug and play cam with no software supported by Logitech to take snapshots, record videos it requires to use additional third party software to do snapshots and record videos. Snapshot quality for high resolutions make photos look slight blurry and limit to only 2 megapixels. Live Video quality decent just it looks way better in Logitech c910 as it improve to 10 megapixels. The Logitech c910 offers software for Mac not all the features supports on Mac. They added features for Mac to do photos, HD video calling, and HD video recording the other features for Windows users only Motion Detection and Zoom/Pan/Tilt software.

If you do Indy cam shows, using Skype under 5.0 the quality looks grainy maybe over the lower version of Skype don't support HD in 5.0 the quality appears good clear. Yahoo looks grainy not sure yet on MSN.

What cam brand and model did you buy ?

I hope the two I mention didn't give you any problems if so sorry if these models didn't work out.

Right now I have an Ice Cam made by Macally.

Could a slow connection have anything to do with quality? I've seen some cams on there where it looks like they are filming with a video camera. =/

I never bought Macally to review the quality. When I was searching for cams that supports for Mac, I read lot of reviews about the quality not good. I saw some videos on Youtube people using the cam and it looked not clear sharp. So, I avoided buying and stick with Logitech they include Carl Zeiss lens built and that's top of line len's maker.

If you want to know more about using Video camera on Mac, BellaBellini wrote in another topic about it can be done from Mac and offers advice about it.

I have this cam for my mac and it works great. Great live cam plus it records full HD video (using photo booth), which is handy for shooting POV fetish clips.

Also, best thing you can do to improve your live streaming is get upgraded internet. I have the fastest home internet option available from cox, 50mbps, and it's fucking AWESOME. I get up to 1mbps upload speeds (usually around 6-700kbps but that's still fkn great). My stream is clear and reliable. Even with a lower quality cam, good internet makes a huge difference in your stream quality.

I hear on a regular basis how much better my stream is than most
