    Search Costumes?

I am going into my second week of dancing, and I like it.

I've already found that accessorizing and giving custies some pretty things on you to look at is never a bad idea. I keep thinking about what outfits I want to buy when I'm finally out of the red and can spend!

My mind keeps going to costumes I want to buy online (or from thrift stores). A sexy Cleopatra (people keep saying I look Egyptian). A police officer gone rogue. A librarian!

But I don't really see anyone gushing about costumes on this site. Right now I have a couple of lingerie outfits, and some clubwear/party outfits. I have not yet broken $100/night (this will be my 3rd night though). Other potential factors aside, might costumes help?

Does anyone wear costumes sometimes, all the time? Do you bank betterer?

"betterer" that made me lol because it sounds cute! Honestly, try something different. There was one girl who wore an orange, two piece jail bird outfit for her first night and she banked. It also has to do with how you carry yourself, your confidence level IN the costume, your hustle, and whether you can deal with other girls giggling and giving you shit about it. Girls tend to not be very receptive to other girls trying something different, from what I have experienced. Some girls just don't give a fuck. It all has to do with the club. Some clubs are not used to costumes, yet some girls don't give a shit and just do their thing. I would at least TRY it...see what kind of response you get from customers. Try it at least two or three times because you might not have a change in money made the first time. It just might be an off night.

It sounds like you're a little bummed out that you aren't making money. Hey, there were days I walked with $2.00! No lie. Slow days happen. Money is definitely unpredictable in the stripping industry. Have you thought about getting a part time regular job so you can have for sure steady income and just strip part time on your days off? That's what I plan to do when I go back since I already work a normal job. Look, in my opinion, from what I have gathered after reading multiple posts on SW, if you notice that you aren't making money at this club even if there are a lot of customers, it might be your lack of confidence in your hustle (fake it until you make it! wing it girl! just go with the moment *unless the moment is a hand job, BJ, or sex. THAT can get you thrown in jail! Don't go with THAT moment!!*), there are a lot of custies yet they are regulars and your club is a regulars based club, there are a lot of custies but they aren't buying or tipping, you are not aggressive enough (but not TOO aggressive to the point where you piss other girls off!). Men (and dancers) can spot a scared or inconfident newbie from across the club. Some men take advantage of that and talk your ear off & waste your time and some girls get really territorial and overtly aggressive to intimidate you. This is all what I have read and also experienced. You have to go in there with an attitude of okay, "Unless today is catastrophically slow and guys are not tipping and/or buying, I AM going to break $100." and "I am not scared of the girls. Girls will be catty and bitchy and they will try to break me. I am a strong, money making woman!" *roars* lol

But in all seriousness, it's been two WEEKS and you STILL haven't broke $100?! You might want to consider trying a different club...unless you have the "endeavor to perservere" attitude. Just keep working at it and don't worry about the costume. The Cleopatra outfit sounds uber hot! I think guys would find that really sexy!!

Ehh... every now and again I'll see dancers who wear costumers... but I've only really known 1 in like 5 years who did them even semi-regularly.
If you like costumes, give one a try and see if you like it... but it won't boost your income any better than just getting better at hustling.

OP, many costumes aren't appropriate for dancing because they can be hard to get out of or just not really sewn well. I'd suggest actually buying from a store where you can try the costume on before purchasing.

Usually the club owners & managers love when entertainers use costumes, but often customers are the ones who aren't so into it. If you want to play up with costumes you ought to look into burlesque. It's worth trying though.

Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Costumes are OK every once in a while, like for Halloween or if your club is having some kind of event but I don't suggest them for everyday wear. Like kylea said they are usually tricky to get on and off, generally they are a pain in the ass, why I never wear them. I think costumes are more suited for bachelor parties and theme nights, that's all. They are usually more expensive too, I suggest you take the money you would spend on a costume and get more actual stripping outfits instead.

Costumes are good for more private events (bachelor parties, birthday parties, strip-o-grams, etc)
We get a lot of request for that when we do our shows. Many people request the cop out fit.
