the kicker is at the end when he informs us he is a cheap bastard. cheap and stupid. charming.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

Is $1000/week really a lot of money? I've always thought that $48,000/year was kinda "Meh" to average, especially for a large city. Yet this guy insists $1000/week is 'bank'.

Maybe if you don't pay taxes. But even then...not a TON of money by any means.

Edit: Okay, this part was funny:

If someone is stripping full time... shouldn't they be making more than 1000 a week? If I can make over 550 working two day shifts I think the girls who work multiple night shifts should be making a shit ton more, right?
I wouldn't know since I'm not able to do it full time and I'm still a newbie but I think dancers can make that much in a single shift, couldn't they?

^I think it depends on your area and the hours you work, but in the last year, there are only 6 weeks when I made less than 1K, working more than 15 hours. Not trying to brag, but I think most women who work 3-6 shifts a week can break 1K if that's their goal.

    Oh, where to start...
    How 'bout:
"You gain a better body image

    a. You really have no choice because you’re naked all the time"
    kind of goes with:

    "It really isn’t that degrading

    a. People cheer for you and tell you you’re hot. You don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with besides lap dances. Once you get over the naked part you’re good to go. "

Yes, because stripping is exactly like it's portrayed on sitcoms, such as "Married...with Children". All you have to do is come out on stage, shake your booty a little bit, and men are throwing money at you, drooling, and basically fainting over how hot you are.
If you ask one of these enthusiastic gentlemen if he would like a dance, he ALWAYS says yes (strippers never get rejected! that's why it's so good for our body image!) and he will never try to touch you.

Oh, if only. Now, I like my job. But if it was really like this guy's fantasy (I think he did all his research by watching "Married... With Children" reruns), I'd happily go in every night and never get burned out. Especially if I could make "close to $1000/week"!!

P.S. - I don't really know what my obsession w/ "Married..." is. It's just the first sitcom that came to mind that had lots of strippers on it.

It really depends on where you are. I work 18-21 hours a week, and make about a grand/week, sometimes more, sometimes a bit less. But this is at my home club. When I travel, I normally make more, but there have been occasions I've made less.

it's funny how everyone knows that strippers make a lot of money but NONE of them actually know how much.

the guy who wrote that "article" probably works at walmart (since that crap excuse for a blog can't make him much money) and makes $200 a week so "like $1000 a week" is serious dough to him.

one guy was like "you make like $1000 whenever you come in (wrong) and you only work like.... 4 hours (wrong) so why don't you just work 40 hours a week for 2 years and you'll be a millionaire!" lulz

Go do your day job, feel good about yourself
    What?

Sometimes you have to walk around and encourage guys to pay you for a lap dance, but that’s not that hard.
    It is an art.

^oh come onnnn what's hard about sitting with a guy for half an hour, listening to him bitch and whine about his job, wife, and kids, laugh at all his lame jokes, acting interested, being funny and cute, being rejected hundreds of times, and practically dragging a guy to the LD room, and then having to do it all over again for HOURS a night

It's not a whole lot, but is enough to have a decent living (growing up neither of my parents made close to 800 a week, but we lived alright) in a suburban area.

Income definitely depends on area. Right after the economy really tanked, I was pulling in around $200 a night for quite some time. Shit money. And then the other girls started doing extras, and they kept hiring more and more girls to get the house fees, so it just got worse. The good news is, my hustle got AMAZING.

Yeah, but $52,000 a year is just average, definitely not what I'd like to be earning with this kind of job. Minus taxes and shitty nights and time off... it's great when you're in college or if it's just supplemental income, but when it's the only thing you've got going on, it's not that great.

^Agreed. $1000/week is good, but not great when you consider that it's not like we're going to get promoted one day and start making twice that with the same amount of work.

Plus, as much as we'd all like to think we'd work 5 days a week, it rarely happens. I can barely work 10 nights a month....

^ Agreed. I don't think I've ever worked more than four nights in a week, and that was when I was really motivated. Generally I could count on maybe 3 or 4 nights a week.

I kinda like the attitude this article has. I think if you go into work with a happy go lucky outlook you do better overall.

About the 1000/week, well to some people that is a huge difference from their job that is probably way less "fun" and "glamorous" than stripping. Of course only some aspects of the job are these things but from a customer's perspective we're always those things. I remember sitting with this guy on a slow night who's telling me about how educated and good at what he does. And then he tells me that in so many years he will be making 60g a year like I should be impressed. Silly boys.

LOL @ Natalllia, I was SO influenced by "Married With Children". I grew up watching it and always had a fascination with stripping.

The thing I really don't get is the idea that we work a 9-5 before coming in. Like, ok, the customer works a 9-5, comes home and crashes on the couch then falls asleep. Stays up late on the weekends and feels like crap Monday morning. How come we have all this extra energy to work 16 hr days?? I think some guys ask this to get a fantasy going, but then some are seriously asking what we "really" do. The assumption kinda irritates me. The reality that I lounge around, enjoy my hobbies, study for a future career, and enjoy my beautiful home and possessions is a turn off to guys who don't have such luxuries.
