    Default Lefty or righty?

For some reason I am always curious to know this with people, just something I am interested in and like to study. I am a lefty. I do things like cutting with scissors, opening cans, etc. right handed because most of those things are made for right handed people, so I just adjust to using them. For those lucky enough to be ambidextrous I include you as well

ambi-- i swing both ways .
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I learned how to eat, write (still write left handed) and some other stuff when my arm was broken so I voted ambidextrous to be cool.

Ambi. I can write with both and pretty equal with both, though I tend to write more with my left hand.

Same here. I broke my right wrist aged 12 and had a plaster on it for 5 months. I do most ordinary things right handed but I still write left-handed a lot, and I always brush my hair and clean my teeth left handed.....go figure..?

I was born using my left hand, wrote and ate with it. In kindergarten they beat me to use my right hand, so over the years I became a righty! Now I dont feel comfortable using my left hand

I really hate this, I don't understand it. It isn't as bad now as it was years ago but I know in places like Asia this is mostly done when a child is born left handed, also some religions as well. I know some Christian people that think left handed people are "with the devil" over some bullshit that God casts people to hell with his left hand so there for it is evil People don't see the harm it does to the children, I have read some horror stories over this causing serious issues with things like speech, dyslexia, stuttering and all kinds of other problems, it really just pisses me off.

I wasn't sure if you meant which side it hangs on.

Cool facts, I knew some of them and others I didn't. I am definitely outside the odds for being a lefty, I am the only one in my immediate family. My grandpa is the only other person in my entire family that was a lefty so I am guessing I had to have gotten it from him.

Spiral notebooks are the devil!! Writing for extended periods in general sucks. I would always get made fun of in school after writing a long time because the side of my hand would be black and it would smudge everywhere, and the writers cramp, ouch.

The puberty thing is true with me too, I was a late bloomer.

When I'm using my laptop I use the touchpad with my left hand, but on a desktop I use my right hand, usually cause that is where the mouse is placed. Most of the time I use a knife with my left hand.

    things I do left handed:
    write
    brush teeth and hair
    vacuum
smoke (when I have occasional cigarettes)

    things I do right handed:
draw (I have NO idea why it just feels more comfortable)
    bowl/swing a bat/anything to do with sports
    eat and drink
    use scissors and can openers

I do not write with my left hand though because ( like others posted ) my parents did not allow it when I was growing up..

Ambi, but I tend to write with my right. I used to practice using both hands (& toes) a lot when I was younger. I suspect if I had not done that I might have been a righty, but as it is I'm comfortable using both. I think I tend to write with my right hand though because I don't have to worry so much about dragging the side of my hand over what I've written & smearing it or getting ink on my hand.

Didn't that come about with the myth that the devil's children were left handed? A lot of parents I believe tried to break their children into writing right handed even if it weren't natural for them.
