I don't about energy, but people can be positive or negative.

I think people can have positive or negative energy. I guess I might feel negative energy if I go to a place where I had bad memories, but I'm not spiritual at all. It probably has to do with your depression that you talked about in your last thread. I went through a really dark time in my life, and it kind of reminds me of how I felt. Just one day I couldn't take it anymore, and I sobbed and I told my parents I couldn't live another day there, and I moved a few months later. I wasn't being bullied or anything like that; I just felt sad. Then when I moved, I got out of my depression. If the place you're living in gives you a really bad feeling/energy, you probably shouldn't live there anymore.

Yes definitely but I am also very spiritual and into the paranormal. I have a very strong sense of when places have negative and positive energy, it is usually the first thing I notice when I go to a new place, and I judge whether I will return to whatever place based on the energy. I also sense it with people I meet and base whether I will continue socializing with them based on the energy I feel from them. I won't just straight up tell someone hey, you have bad energy get away from me lol, but I will try to excuse myself from them as soon as I could in a polite way. That doesn't mean I will avoid them forever, maybe they were in a place before with strong bad energy or something they did put a bad energy force around them, sometimes they are just negative people and if that's the case we will not be becoming friends.
I was even into creating psi or energy balls for a while, I would get the energy from a very positive place and use the good energy to make the bad go away or to shield myself from all negative energy for the day.

I have the same thing about people!! I never thought of it as "reading their energy" per se, but more like intuition I guess? whenever I got a bad vibe right off the bat about a person they end up being a negative person.
do you think the energy of a place can change? when I first moved into my apartment I didn't feel anything weird, but now I get really bad vibes from it. I don't feel unsafe or anything, it's just a very unpleasant negative energy about certain spaces
well, I believe in both forms, the spiritual and the scientific. I mean, yes, obviously there is positive and negative energy in the cosmos..electrons and all those subatomic particles, etc.
but not getting into nuclear physics, I still believe that we sort of 'sense' these things in the world and it really depends how keen a person is to the changes in the world around them. we translate this into a sort of sprituality. but not debating where the forces come from or if they are controlled, etc.
and last post you said some places made you uneasy? well, take it as you will, but I agree with what was said on one of those ghosthunters shows where they said that sometimes the electrical current of a place, when it runs at odd vibrations or currents, or something, can actually make a person feel 'uneasy' about a certain place. but, if you feel unease where there is no electric current then....well, I've felt uneasy about such places too, and try to think positive (for protection) and avoid until I get an understanding (history, scientific, etc) about the place.
I wish I knew what I was doing...

one of my friends told me to get some sage and burn it in the house? anyone know anything about that? I don't want to piss off any spirits!

I am not sure about a metaphysical spiritual positive and negative energy, but I do believe that thing can produce positive and negative psychological states. Like Sammii said, things can trigger memories, even on a subconconscious level, and affect your mood and emotions. For example, - you see a police car driving behind you and get very nervous - subconsciously this triggers a memory of getting pulled over and getting a ticket.
People in advertising study all sort of things that manipulate a person's emotions - colors, lights, sounds, packaging, etc.
If coming home is making you depressed, you might have to change things at home - buy wild plants (symbols of life), paint rooms in vibrant happy colors, throw away things that evoke sad memories and buy things that remind you of happy memories, etc.
If sage or other "spiritual" things make you happy - then do that, too. I see no harm.
A good book to read on neuro linguistic programming (psychological tools to improve your emotions/attitudes on life) is Get the Life You Want: The Secrets to Quick and Lasting Life Change with Neuro-Linguistic Programming by Richard Bandler

Do I believe in 'positive and negative' energy....?
Yes of course I do.....but then again.....no, maybe I don't....![]()

Sure thing there are positive and negative energy, not just in people but also places! The whole world is moved by those invisible energies.
The thing is, we have the power to create our own energy by the way we live our lives.
Some say that energy is transferrable, that people can pass their energy to you, and I do believe it's true. That's why I always stay away of people that makes me feel bad and/or I'm not comfortable around.
Places can have their own energy as well, but you can manage to control those energies by having positive thoughts and attitude every time you enter those places!

You're talking about a smudging ceremony, seen here:

I say, go for it! Why not? Plus it smells good and sometimes you need to have a little ceremony in one's life![]()

Seriously, over here in the Middle Ages, the Druids used to do everything in accordance with the 'Ley Lines' which are massive invisible lines of mystical and magical power across the countryside, which connect all kinds of spiritual sites - and carry the essential energies of life and the earth.

I had serious negative energy in my house as a kid. We put crosses on the doorways and opened the windows, telling whatever it was that it was not wanted and to go and be with god. It worked. But I am still semi terrified of the house at night.

Yes I believe in positive and negative energy. People have dropped things and glasses break when I walk by certain people at work.....It is the evil seeping out.
I do believe in negative in positive energy. I'm very spiritual and I feel energies are balanced within the universe.
I feel the less authentic you are to yourself and the world, the more negative energy you will feed to the universe. People who constantly dish out negative energy and vibes consistently attract negativity into their lives whether they want to or not. If your mental energy mostly negative, you will get all that negative energy back to you.
Now if you focus on positive energy vibrations (love, giving etc) you will find that your reality is primarily positive. Likes attract! This is why I constantly try to focus on being in a positive loving mood and disposition because it rubs off on the world around me![]()

This is true. I live in the Rockies, myself and friends have noticed certain common experiences due to the natural beauty and power of the landscape here. There are ley lines in the region.
As for the OP question, yes, every day that you deal with others you deal with attempts to sway your path, influence your thought/intentions and possibly sabotage you. "Humans are the most dangerous game." Sometimes you will feel lingering effects from the stress of dealing with others....
I suggest meditation and making your personal space all about you. Use your time at home to focus and center yourself. You are a warrior in yor life and you should spend your time/resources to plan accordingly...

Gigi,
I understand that you are primarily asking about energy as a force or aura; however, consider that our nervous system works via a combination of electrical and chemical processes and it's built on an electrical design.
The basic building block of the nervous system is the nerve cell, called a neuron (of which the human brain primarily consists). Each neuron transmits an electrical impulse to the next neuron and the network of electrical impulses enable us to absorb stimuli and send it to our brains (and vice versa). Without the neuron circuits, our bodies would not function.
Also consider the human heart, a muscle with its own electrical system to regulate the timing of heartbeats. Hearts have both conducting cells (to carry the electrical signal) and muscle cells (to enable your heart's chambers to contract, triggered by the electrical signal). Like our nervous system, the signals travel along the cells by activating the adjacent cell. They all transmit the electrical charge and the entire heart contracts, creating a heartbeat.
There are many things in life which can affect and/or interfere with our electrical circuitry and I personally believe that phenomena such as "women's intuition" are actually perceptions absorbed by the body that we just cannot specifically identify or categorize. I've known many women who have an uncanny ability to get an initial "vibe" off someone or a place and it turns out to be completely accurate... so accurate that it's almost scary.
I've visited places that make me feel sluggish, excited, creeped-out, etc. and I can only explain it as an overall feeling but cannot pinpoint that cause. I suspect it has something to do with energy or electrical charge of the location.
I'm not claiming that this is what you are experiencing at your home, but it's worth exploring. Has anything physical changed there lately that could disrupt an actual electrical charge?
(e.g., power lines, appliances, short-circuit, power surge)

I believe in the energy we create. I believe when a person is negative or acts negatively, that energy exudes from the individual and can cultivate in another person (or animal). Living things are very perceptive and I believe we pick up on energy being emitted by others (positive or negative). Such is the same when someone is happy--when someone is feeling good and has good energy, it sometimes tends to rub off on others.
Think about the workplace: When someone is being a grumpy ass, usually it puts others in a bad mood and makes the whole office pissy. But when there is an individual that's going about the day being spunky/happy-go-lucky, it puts others in a good mood (so long as that person isn't annoying).
I do believe there is a ratio to it though. For example if there are mostly negative nancy's, then that's the direction the energy will flow, but if the energy is mostly positive, then that's what the general outcome will be.

I definitely believe in negative and positive energy. I think positivity leads to productivity.

Yes I can feel energy off certain places and more off people. Simply sitting next to someone with bad energy on the train can ruin my entire day. Its like I absorb other peoples energy. I can usually decide if I like (positive) or dislike (negative) someone without them ever even speaking to me and 9/10 my feelings are correct. I cant think of a lot of examples of places but Ive definitely been in places that just give me a bad feeling and places that give me a good feeling. I actually dislike this about me because it always overrides my actual mood. I feel like my surroundings and other people are in control of my mood which is very difficult.

Definately, I believe in all of that. Karma, gut fellings, 6th sense, Good/bad energy, etc. It just all makes to much sense not to believe at least alittle.

When I was younger I would tend to ignore my gut feelings b/c I thought the best way to navigate was by what I thought about someone or something. Now I realize most of my gut feelings were right on.
Now that I am older I tend to go with my gut, even if it offends people or makes me look bad...I am way better off.
