    Default Budgeting tools

I'm saving for a vacation and paying off my credit card, and I'm looking for a website or software that can help me budget.

A friend recommended mint.com to me, and I played around with it a little, but it wants me to put in a fixed monthly income. Now I do have weekly and monthly goals that I try to hit but you know how these things fluctuate.

I'd like a tool that will allow me to input how much I make per day, and also show how much I invest back into the business with toys/outfits/etc. I have spreadsheets for now, but it would be cool to have it all calculated for me and show my savings progress.

Does anyone use any budgeting tools that they would recommend?
(Maybe this is better suited to Dollar Den, but thought I'd ask here.)

As for budgeting, I'd go with a spreadsheet because then you can customize it to what you actually have to pay each month. I'd go with this one: http://www.vertex42.com/ExcelTemplat...ly-budget.html because you can put in your "anticipated" pay and then put in your actual pay as you go.

As for savings and debt payoff, check out these two tools:
    http://www.feedthepig.org/
    https://www.mytotalmoneymakeover.com...d=mytmmo.pdslp

Feed the pig helps you get in the mindset of saving based on giving up a few vices such as lattes or going out to eat. My hubby and I shaved $60 PER WEEK off of our budget using Feed the Pig.

The 2nd link is to Dave Ramsey's debt snowball tool. You input your debts, how much you can afford to go above and beyond the minimum payments and then be amazed at how quickly you can pay off your debt. I input my credit card debt which my statements say will take me anywhere from 7-15 years to pay off using the minimum payment only (which I sometimes have to do) and the debt snowball says it will take 3 years and I didn't even add that much "extra" to the minimum payments.

    openoffice.org

You could make a Excel Spreadsheet in there and use that...it's pretty easy.

it's the microsoft office suite except it's the free version basically.

I have a few e-books on it if you need them....

There is also some templates on microsoft's website itself....

I have heard good things about this site too.

Did a search on download.com and found 146 items in the free section....copy and paste this link.

If it doesnt work....go to download.com, right hand corner - search - type budget - hit search - then on the left youll see where it says by license type - hit free - then read through and pick one

I created a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel 2010 where you enter all your transactions and put them in categories (you do this as soon as you do the transaction or later in the day or something). It's great and it has helped my boyfriend and I both know what we are "wasting" money on and stuff. I'm not sure if it is exactly what you need but it keeps track of what you spend your money on as well as monthly totals. You can also give yourself an estimate (ex. rent: 600, groceries: 150, etc.) and then it will tell you if you have gone over or under your estimate. Let me know if you have MS Excel 2010 and if you want the spreadsheet :p

i am wondering if they are able to keep your info prvt while sharing your smarty pig goals on fb, twitter and even your blog with a widget. this would be great to collect donations from custies who are wanting to contribute to your goals. if they do, then this would wrk great instead of chipin and work better. something to check into

That's pretty much what I have been doing in OpenOffice, but thank you for offering to upload it!
