Default making money off of stage tips

i've noticed that some girls are able to make 30+ dollars off of a customer coming up the the tip rail. me on the other hand once in awhile i can do that but i feel like at most i'm making 10 to 15. i don't exactly know what to do. i know my stage show isn't that good yet, but i know there has to be away to make more money while i'm up there.

Make eye contact, smile, chit chat with them a bit, etc. A little attention can go a long way!

Depending on the type of club and customers, you can always learn and do some Cirque Du Soleil style tricks on stage. I knew a girl at Shotgun Willie's in Denver (I think she's still there) who literally did a TON of crazy tricks like doing the booty popping thing while standing on her head. Her stage show is just that: A SHOW that is very acrobatic and entertaining. She clearly banks especially off groups of guys, like bachelor parties who make it rain.

These girls are probably veterans which means 2 things: 1) More customers know and like her, and 2) She has more moves on stage. If you just started at this club, don't beat yourself up. You'll start to develop rapport with the regulars soon enough and get better at stage dancing and tricks over time with practice. Don't beat yourself up comparing yourself to someone who's probably been there or at least been in the business much longer than you. Just make sure you don't look bored on stage. Make eye contact with guys in the crowd; smile; if a guy comes up to the tip rail flirt with him and tell him how happy you are that he came up to visit you. It'll attract more guys and make the guys who do come up want to come up again because you engaged them.

make sure that the customers know they have to tip you in order to keep you there. talk to them when you're off stage, don't talk on stage unless there's only ONE tipping customer there.

if there's 2 guys at the stage go back and forth between them and make flirty eye contact and don't walk up to them unless they have money out. make them want you to come over to them. if you walk back and forth in front of them on stage with dead eyes they're gonna get bored before you even approach them.

if there's a bunch of customers on stage, only approach the ones with money. move to the beat of the music while you're waiting for them to tip you. if only one customer tips you, don't sit around with him for your whole set and look around if anyone else is tipping it looks SOOO tacky. when you're on stage you want to look like you're available to have a good time with anyone who's willing to tip you. dance for him, ask how he's doing, ask his name, and then say "thank you! I'll come find you when I get off stage" and walk over to the pole. the second you spot a tip from another guy, walk up to him, dance a bit, then return to the pole.

don't spend too little or too much time with a customer. if you dance for 10 seconds the guy won't want to tip you again. if you spend too long he won't want to tip you again. give them enough time but leave them wanting more. if he gives you 2 dollars and you dance for him for 2 songs why would he want to tip you again? he already got more than his money's worth.

The eye contact is basic to bank on stage.

    Smiling is also really useful.

No.... You just need to get better. And get some confidence. Not to be harsh but there's no secret to it. Those girls are good on stage and probably feel good about themselves in the process..... that's all there is to it.

Smile, make eye contact, get better on stage.
Don't spend too long dancing for one guy if other people have money, too. I'll literally spend 5 seconds or less on a guy before I move to the next if they're all tipping the same amount.
After you're finished dancing for them, take the tip, drop it in the middle of the stage to establish the idea that you've done all you're going to do for that dollar, and they need to put another one down if they want you back over there.

honestly, the thing that gave me more confidence on stage was taking pole classes. not only do you feel like a rockstar doing cool tricks, they attract attention. I'm not saying you should spend all your time on the pole or anything because that is boring. you definitely need to engage with customers at the tip rail and do some sexy floorwork. however, going to pole class has really helped me. i've noticed that i'm even comfortable dancing when i'm not doing any tricks because i know i look good when i'm dancing sexy... if you can't take pole class or buy a pole, i would suggest just dancing in front of the mirror. i feel like in between practicing tricks at the pole studio, i would just twirl or walk around the pole and watch myself in the mirror and instantly feel more confident/sexy because i could see what i was doing. it doesn't take much to gain the confidence. just a few simple spins and twirls were very helpful for me in the beginning, when i was still gaining my confidence and was a newbie

Energy. All about how much fun you look like you're having while being unbelievably sexy and alluring. Make people want to join you!

i have found that being incredibly good looking is really effective. i see all these women hanging upside down from the ceiling rafters and that's lovely and all that but i do very well on stage circling the pole for the six minutes or however long.

confidence goes a long way. and so does not-comparing yourself to other people. worry about your money and whether it's what you are worth. not what stripper sally hanging upside is worth.

u guys are all right. for me its a confidence thing by far. i think maybe i'm putting way more thought into everything than i should be thas just the type of person i am. example right before i get on stage i have to feed the jukebox (ya i know) and i get kind of frustrated by it because what i'm comfortable listening to and dancing to kills the mood that everyone else has set. couple times i was like hell its my show i'm gonna do me. lets just say i totally killed the mood of the club and the damn customers made sure i knew it too. fuckn pricks... so i started having one of the waitress pick my music and things seem to go way better. but the samething happens when shes not there
L A M E. its not that my music sucks its just not urban enough. it is just me or does anyone else have a hard time getting tips for black men? hell i can't seem to get many of them to do anything. the clientele kinda drags me down to. like i know i'm differenet ok and what.. but they always seem to kind away to let me know it to. now when we have older business type of white men customers they love me. i get praised and applauded left and right i make money off of them.

...why are you pursuing customers who aren't interested in you? how does this happen?

if their body language says no, don't waste your time. go to where you are appreciated.

this reminds me of a time i watched a black dancer try to convince this skinhead to get a dance from her. WHY ARE YOU WASTING YOUR TIME. there are so many dudes in the world. stop barking up trees that aren't interested! it's not good for your confidence, and it, frankly, doesn't fucking make sense.

are you new to dancing? the "i-give-a-shit" phase wears off, so be patient. before you know it, you'll be not giving a shit and making lots of money.

Oh, I find that having a good attitude and looking like you LIKE your job helps... you know... as opposed to acting like a stuck up bitch or looking like you're going to walk off stage, behind the curtain and shoot yourself in the head.

^So true. I don't think it really matters what you do on stage. It is about having great energy and looking put together. Customers are there to have fun and escape from it all. What better way to provide that than to look like you are having a great time

ask for tips when you get off stage if they are chatty afterward then. you may look uncomfortable on stage and more "normal" when you get offstage, so just hustle for tips when you get off stage then.

girl, don't complicate life! these men want to give you their money. please let them.

and stop letting anyone give you wide eyes when drinks are $20. any cocktail at a decent restaurant starts at like...$15. so they know what time it is. they are playing on naivety and acting like this is a high price for drinks. don't let that bullshit seep into your consciousness. they know what time it is.

depends a lot on the club, but i always found that GOOD eye contact (finding that line between staring to the point of making them uncomfortable and looking long enough that they feel a need to come up) and a smile (not a toothy grin, a seductive smile) did wonders.

i rarely did tricks, and often was one of the better stage earners.
