    Default Garters vs. Clutches?

Which do you prefer? I think a clutch bag is a little more secure, but garters seem less cumbersome (and so hot! )....

I wear a garter around my ankle. If I wear it somewhere else -it just feels awkward. Plus, I sit things down & lose them all the time -so a clutch prob would not be a good idea for me. Plus, I feel like someone could go through that clutch while doing a dance. I'd rather keep my money on my actual person.

Yeah, that's how I feel. I could see myself forgetting a clutch somewhere reeeally easily. There's some that have little rings that you can hook around the wrist, but that might be kind of weird still...

2 hair ties around the ankle, keep your bills organized and 2 rubber bands around the bills. put your dollars on the outside, bigger bills on the inside. If your really busy, bundle the dollar bills separately from the rest so you have two wads in your anklet.

Never misplaced a dollar in 6 years once i figured this out, and it's a damn sexy accessory!

I always carried a little Coach wristlet. I never had a problem with leaving it somewhere...I'm just not the type to misplace purses. I don't think I've ever misplaced a purse in my life. And with a wristlet or small evening bag, I could keep not only my money, but a lipstick or lipgloss and tampons in there, just in case.

i used a garter on stage and wore one every time i worked, but, the money always came out and went in a little purse as soon as i was off stage. money from dances went directly in the purse as well. that purse never left my sight.

i found it made me feel more secure, plus, i hated how it looked when girls would leave money in their garter and just rubber band it there. to me, that was tacky.

I prefer a clutch. I like to carry my phone when its quiet, my cigarettes when I can smoke inside, but mostly it's for my locker key and my drink receipts.

I've always kept my money on an ankle garter, because no-one should ever be down there beside my foot and if they are, my stiletto heel is nice and handy I've never lost money in 3 years of dancing.

I am thinking of carrying a clutch too though, my last two clubs never had that but at my current club most girls carry a clutch. I think I'm just going to use the purse for my lipgloss, gum etc, and maybe for my dollars if I get too many of them. I hate having a huge wad of cash on my ankle when a lot of it is actually ones!

Neither. I have this small bag that is made with a valcro strap so that u can strap it to ur ankle or wirst. its way more secure than a garter and no one can see your money because its hidden away in the bag. its better than a clutch cause u dont have to cary it around everywhere and theres no chance of forgettig it cause its strapped to ur body

These girls were carrying it for fun, and it was the clear style. It was this trend, it was the cool thing to carry one of those for some reason. I never joined in that one.....

Well call ME tacky a garter, for me. I am a dumb ass and would leave the clutch somewhere. However i would like to be able to keep gum and gloss on me..Ive never lost any money that was tucked in a garter with a rubber band. And frankly i don't give a shit how it looks, esp when i have a $50 on the outside. Have lost it when i left some in my locker however..

When was this? Years ago Deja Vu used to issue those to us with an open slit in the top & a zip tie on them, which they clipped off at the end of each night. I kept mine, & so did many other girls. There's a good chance a few were just used to doing it from other clubs they had worked. I agree though, it was a HORRIBLE idea... anything that shows off the money but can be easily snatch away or hidden, really makes you a target.

BTW, I've known MULTIPLE girls now that have had their money or money & garters stolen right off they leg! One of my best friends had this happen.

As of right now I still carry a small purse... the key being small. When I dance if there is a wall at the back of the stage I put it there or in the center of the stage where no one can reach it. Customers will steal, don't fool yourselves! I know girls who have had their purses stolen too. My money isn't being waved around though & because my purse is so small, I think people assume that I don't have much in it, which works in my favour. Other than a very small purse I'd consider using a pair of tipping shoes, but if you go that route get the types with straps & use something (foil paper maybe?) to block out from people being able to see inside the shoes... that way they don't see your money. I had a customer last year during a hunting season (those guys get really rambunctious) that thought it would be funny to steel my shoe right off my foot! Then he thought he's play games trying to hide it. My lesson from that was don't wear mules (strapless) during hunting season. I was majorly PMSing & had already demanded a guy give me $60 for spilling beer on me... so he's lucky I didn't have these on!
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I use a butterfly bag. I never worked at a true nude club before now so I never really figured out what the purpose of a garter was except for those girls using two to create an ass illusion. It finally dawned on me that it's how you take your tips when you are nude. Nights when I forget my bag I feel weird walking around with my money on a garter doing the rubber band thing. Butterfly bags look similar to this:http://bodyzoneapparel.com/index.php...=1&keyword=bag

I've never used their brand, but in my previous town the costumers made and sold them with a thicker elastic cinch and tighter close. You take it and slide it all the way up your arm to your shoulder and just forget about it.
Thank Goodness I smartened up! The old me is dead and gone.

I use this 5 dollar faux snakeskin bag with metal rings i can hold on. I find that it's easier for me to store my money in something that has a zipper. I see the garter thing and it hurts my thighs, and imo, I feel like someone could ninja jack my money if i were to be in plain sight. If I make a substantial amount of money I stash it in my bag when no one is looking.

When I'm in the club, I prefer tennis wristlets:

I can wear them on my ankles or my wrists, and for big bills I cut a small slit on the inside and slip my money into it. Otherwise my change-money I keep tucked in there and it doesn't fall out.

Occasionally I've gotten some "is your wrist broken?" comments, but that's only when I have a huge gob o' money I need to change for bigger bills. But it's rarely hanging out, and I won't leave it anywhere.

@FiendishGyrator - i guess that depends on what you're wearing though - I've worn these with a certain 'look' but can't really see them looking okay with a gown...

I'm a clutch girl - i like to carry gum and lipgloss and my phone and money on me. That way my valuables are all with me at all times. The bag would either come with me on stage or be left behind the bar whilst i was up. I liked having cute little bags that i'd change to match my outfits too - so silver/ black/ gold/ white depending on what i wore

I choose clutches. I don't like the way I look in garters and am not very good with rubberbanding money. I have had my purse stolen once (literally right from under my feet) and it sucked ass but I still always carry one. I also like to have my lipgloss, small hairbrush and cell phone at my disposal.

Both. I wear a garter around my right foot to collect stage tips. Of course this is only at clubs where the guys are "garter trained." And I carry a clutch. Walking around with money, especially a lot, of your leg/ankle/wrist is tacky looking IMO. Plus a clutch is safer and I can carry my phone, lipgloss, etc.
