My club (Deja Vu in Ypsilanti, MI) is going to be participating in our annual melonfest contest with other area Deja Vu. It will take place every Saturday from July 23rd to August 20th. They need 5 girls from our club to do the contest and so far I'm the only one this year that has volunteered. I did it because my manager is extremely understanding of my personal circumstances and really helps me out when I need it (i.e. letting me go home/take time off/go freelance when my son was diagnosed with a brain tumor, non-cancerous). I want to show my support to my club and my fiance supported my decision before I committed to it.
I know it will affect my ability to make money, but to be honest Saturdays have been shitty for me anyway...Fridays and Sundays have been my money making nights.
So the point of melonfest is to get the most points by selling the most lap dances. Each Saturday there is a team that wins by having the most overall points in that club. Then there is a girl from each team that wins that night from having the most individual points. Then there is a team that wins the overall competition by having the most points from all 5 clubs over the 5 Saturdays. And lastly there is the overall contest winner who has the most points from the club with the highest overall score, she is crowned Queen of the Couches.
I really don't care about the title, and I want to make money but I also want to try to do decent for the contest. Since we pay out $7 from every $20 dance normally, most girls sell dances for $7 to add up points from dances the easiest. I really don't feel like making no money for 5 Saturdays of work. I did the math, and if I can sell 50 dances at $10/piece, then I'll take home roughly $150 which is fine with me. I know the contest isn't a place to make bank and it's more of a way to show your support for the club.
The upside is that while you are sacrificing profit (as stated previously, Saturdays have been kinda shitty at my home club anyway) last year's contestants had a lot of guys travel from the other area clubs after the contest to see them because they met them through melonfest. My friend made some good money after the contest ended because she got publicity from the contest.
So, has anyone ever participated in the contest or something similar in their area? How did you make money? Am I missing an idea?
Thanks!
