Hi ya ladies!
I know it's summer, not the best time, although I know lots of you are still great
Should I wait a bit, to apply, or just forge on?
I'm in the Midwest, thinking of WI/IN or possibly way out IL.
Thanks!

IMO, there's always money to be made in strip clubs. Maybe not as much as during "season", or before the economy crapped out, but there's still money out there for those who want to work to get it, and definitely more than if you were working at plenty other jobs.

It's not the best time, imo. A bunch of girls auditions at my club last wednesday and most of my fellow dancers bitched/chased them away from the club. Idk if it's that way everywhere tho

There is no time like the present! Who cares what other girls think, if they'll be upset at another dancer? Use these slower months to get good on stage, learn the hustle, and get your body perfect (dancing almost always makes people tone up at first) for when the busy season comes back.
Let me tell you, as someone who used to be the worst procrastinator EVER that if things can be done today, DO THEM today. You'll be fabulous. Go, dance!

Mia, I wasn't one of the girls who did that, but yes, it is that hard. Except on Friday and Saturday nights, our ratio of dancers to customers is 3:1 on a good night. Sometimes, we'll only have 8 customers all night with 15 dancers. There are waaayyy too many dancers. And yes, it's management who hires girls, but other dangers can make new dancer's lives miserable at work. While I'm not one to participate in such behavior, I'm not going to help the new girls out either.
Right now, all three clubs where I live are like this. It sucks. :-(

^^^ You are leaving out a club - we've got 4.
Whirlez, right now isn't a great time because there is such an influx from the recession. However, if it's what you want to do then go for it. Maybe you'll end up being a lucky one who can say you started when money was down & see it go up after the recession!
(Veterans, no laughing ;-) Someone has to have some hope!)
MiaStarr, while management can hire whomever they want, it's very common for new dancers to get a lot of slack from the club's established girls. Most of the time management either doesn't here about it or doesn't care. In most clubs its a lot like "survival of the fittest", where management believes girls who either aren't emotionally strong enough to keep pushing through the slack from the other dancers or good enough to make decent money, will quit on their own. The "survival of the fittest" doesn't always work though & often chases off girls who probably would be not only good entertainers, but entertainers who follow the rules. If you see girls doing this to someone just try to talk to her which no one is around & tell her this "hazing" phase is common, it makes the newbies feel better if they know many others go through it. If they are harassing her though, try not to be seen with her so the mean dancers don't turn their attentions towards you as well... & if necessary - report it to management!

Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Try it. You will get alot of crap from the other dancers but don't let it bother you. I say its a good way to start if you want to work up and hone your skills. When it get cold again you will be ready.

Wow, thank you ladies!
