Default How Many Times Do You Have to Go on Stage?

I know that every club is different but I've never been to a club where girls had to go on stage every hour even if the same "patrons" were just sitting there taking up space instead of buying dances or tipping girls on stage.

I left one club and never returned when they put me on stage every fucking hour one night.

So, I'm curious to know how other clubs are about running stage especially if there aren't many girls working. Lots of us need money but this particular club isn't gonna be able to draw girls in if they continue to put the same girls on stage every hour and expect them to work 5 days/nights a week. As "INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS" we're supposed to be able to come and go as we please.

In every club I've worked in, there's a rotation. So, the number of times each girl goes on stage depends on how many girls are there that night. Usually if a dancer is doing a private dance or a CR, she is skipped in rotation or just goes on stage as soon as she's back from her dances.

On nights when there was only a handful of dancers in the club, I've gone on stage almost every hour. Other nights, I'm only on stage 2 or 3 times all night. From what I understand, this is how most clubs work. Some clubs have multiple stages, so the dancers in those clubs will spend more time on stage than dancers in a club with only one stage.

If you don't like being on stage, you can use that as an extra incentive to sell private dances (unless your club pulls you out of a private dance to put you on stage).
It sucks when there aren't any good tipping or dance-buying custies, but that's just how it goes sometimes.

There's always been a rotation at every club (7 or 8 ) that I've worked at. It was only a problem when I did some dayshifts at a Deja Vu-owned club where there would be three girls working, and where I believe you had to still go on stage even if busy doing dances with a customer. Typical Deja Vu style. They also made us keep going up, over and over again, as long as there was even one guy sitting in the club nursing his drink. I stopped coming in after a month. Basically, it's a problem that happens when you're working a bad shift that doesn't attract enough dancers to pad out the rotation and/or where customers don't spend enough money to justify the effort of doing multiple stage dances for them.

My main club we usually only get like 5-10 girls during day shift... so we're up once or twice an hour unless we're doing dances. I lovvve it. Stage is the easiest way to sell dances EVER. When you're busy doing dances... they just call you up whenever they see you're done/available to give the other girls a break.

At night at that club... I MAYBE go up twice. I hates it.

My club does a rotation as well. We've had a lot of girls recently, so I've only been getting up once or twice a night. Last time I was only on stage twice, while they were doing the 2-for-1 feature dances. And those weren't even full sets.

We've got the rotation as well, so how often you go up depends on how many girls there are. There've been shifts where I've gone up every hour and shifts where I've only gone up once. I would never quit over having to go up often though, going on stage is a great way of marketing yourself. My club is quite good about having break songs between girls when there aren't many of us so that we're still able to make money, but they won't just stop the rotation if there aren't customers. They tend to wait until there are 3-4 customers in the club before starting the rotation when we open though.

It varies depending on how many girls happen to be working but it usually works out to be once an hour on the weekdays.

I make about 90 percent of my income on stage so going up all the time really works for me. I'd rather get paid to whip somebody than have to sit with them or do a lapdance for the same amount.

It depends on which dj is working and what shift/time. Sun-Tue nite regularly because rotation is followed and the dj works for us so avg once an hour or less. Wed-Sat once a night unless all the dj's fav girls are busy then whenever he can't find someone else to go onstage. No matter how much I tip him he doesn't put me up because he boosts his favs all nite because they give $40-100 every nite even if they aren't making money. We fell out when I first started because he thought because I'm not white I shouldn't dance to rock I should dance to rap. He kept putting me up to it. I kept not making any money. The other djs put me up to rock and I banked. He finally witnessed it and got with the program but was not happy. The doorgirls and waittresses, when I was new, were all telling me they thought it was stupid he wouldn't play rock for me when I requested it just because I'm not white. He finally got with the program after several nites of neither of us making money, but now he plays the same weak songs repeatedly. I just tip him between nothing and $20. If I give you $30 for going up once when I make $50 it's not bad, but if you continue to only put me up when your favs are busy I'm not gonna keep putting up with it. I don't tip to be treated like crap. He's "forgotten I was here" several times and I gave him a thanks or a five. He makes $10/hr plus gets $10 for every girl added to his check who works his shift. And you still want me to break my back when you only rely on me when you feel like you can't do better. Fuck friday/saturday nite stage. I make my money putting myself on our ministages or charging at tables for company on weekends instead of begging or bribing to go onstage.

The good thing is at my club if you are dancing they take you off rotation. So if the dj wasn't listening when they announced the "down list" if your name is called you will hear security that monitors room say "Divyne is down, repeat Divyne unavailable."

Our stages are rotation based too but generally we have to go up 3 or 4 times in an 8-10 hour shift. If we miss a stage or are late we owe $50 to the girl who stayed up there..

Depends on how many girls are on but could be anywhere from 3 - 10... sometimes Ill do every other 15 mins if the tipping is good (ie. more than $60/stage = more than what I can make in the same time in a private) In that case all do as many as possible.

I usually pay to be off stage for the entire night.

The club that I'm working at now requires you to go on stage on a rotation and your frequency depends on the number of girls working that night. You can get off stage by selling VIP rooms. I usually end up skipping stage entirely because I sell a lot of VIP but when I do, I usually only go up once or twice a night.

I've worked at clubs with a rotation that includes all of the girls, and ones that have girls scheduled for each shift, and only THOSE girls are in the stage rotation. The clubs that have girls scheduled have also offered shift pay, in exchange for being on schedule, and therefore, going on stage a few times over the night, which I think is very fair. Most clubs that have all the girls on rotation and don't offer shift pay will 1) not start the rotation until there is customers there, 2) will have more or less break songs in between sets if there is more or less girls, and 3) will alter the rotation if girls are in the VIP.

I agree that going on stage is a good way to promote yourself. However, I also agree with the OP, I would be pissed if I had to go up every hour, if I wasn't getting paid for it. This is why I like the idea of paying the girls something to be there, and therefore do more frequent stage shows, it's fine if you're being compensated for being up there all the time, but otherwise it would just be annoying.

It would be great if clubs out here paid girls to go on stage but unfortunately they don't. I agree that being on stage is a great way to promote yourself but it really isn't worth it if guys aren't tipping or worse, if you have to go up for the same group of none tippers that are just sitting around taking up space.

Every club I've ever worked at has done stage by rotation but, most managers and DJs at the clubs (except the most recent one I just quit) seem to understand that one's body needs ample time to recuperate between sets. They're also aware of the fact that over exertion can lead to injury. Most DJs and mgrs. won't insist on putting someone on stage if they're injured or something. They'll usually just allow you to continue working but off stage. The place I quit didn't even have girls pay an off stage fee because they're so determined to keep everyone up every hour.

Some ways to be on stage less often:

Unless you have a situation like Divyne's, try to befriend your dj. Tip very well, make polite slightly flirty small talk, offer him leftover champagne, etc.

Keep track of when you're up next and go into sale-closing mode when the girl before you is about to go up.

    Work on your VIP-extension skills.

    Change clubs.

My club is identical to this. Our stages are 15mins each and depending on how much you miss, you have to pay the girl you left up there. I've gone up anything from hourly (on nights with almost no girls) to maybe three times in 8hrs?

My club was rotation and you usually ended up there once per hour. So, 5-6 times in a 6 hour shift. They just skip you if you're doing private dances and usually don't even make you go up after you're done with them - they just wait until it's your turn again. Whenever I would work Sundays, the first 3 hours, there were only 3-5 girls, so we would go up over and over and over again. I agree it was bullshit to go up and dance constantly for the same 2 non-tipping guys who just wanted to play free pool. But at least it's something to do instead of just sitting there, looking bored... also a good time to practice tricks.

It sucks if the DJ is an asshole. But that wasn't the case for me at the last club. I tried like hell to work on my VIP extension skills but those people were so desperate to keep girls on stage, that they would send in a waitress or even management to come into VIP and get you when they knew your turn on stage was about to come up. This was a very bad idea on their behalf because in some cases, guys may decide to do only 1 set at first but then they decide to remain in VIP for half an hour or longer. Sending someone back to get a girl interrupts the whole plan. At the same time, since it was mainly a locals club, chances for extending time in VIP were slim to none.
