So I just started dancing at this smaller club in CT last night. It was just a Wednesday night there and was pretty slow (maybe about 50 people or so throughout the night with about 10 girls working) I've never danced before and was only a shotgirl at another club for a week (long story) but for whatever reason I made $200 last night which I was told was incredible for a slow night like that. My only question is whether or not this is a good sign of how I'll do there or just because I'm a new face and the novelty of me will eventually wear out?

Congrats on a successful first shift!

It is pretty difficult to tell how much money you'll be making in the furure based on one night.

I would expect that you will make more money over time as you become more experienced, because you will become more skilled at learning how to weed throught the crowd to find the good customers, closing the sale, etc. - plus, the longer you dance, the greater the potential to build up a regular clientel. The advantages of developing your hustle and becoming more experienced far outweigh any benefit/novelty of the being the "new girl" in my opinion.

As far as that particular club, if you liked it and felt comfortable there I say give it a couple of weeks to see if the opportunity to make money is there. There will always be good nights and bad nights. If you work a few shifts and look at the average of how you did over those shifts, it will give you a better idea of the earning potential at that club.

x2 on what Natallia said. Your first few shifts at a club aren't the best indicator of how you're doing because you'll get club regulars who are just interested in you as a new face, and you likely won't keep them as customers in the long run. As you become more experienced and develop your hustle, you'll attract a different customer. It may be fewer customers that are big spenders, many customers that buy only a handful of dances, or a mix, so it's hard to say how you'll do long-term at the club. But it sounds like you had a good shift and you're at a good club, so may as well stick it out for a while and see how it goes!

Thanks girls for the advice. I've been lurking this site for about a couple weeks or so to help me prepare for when I started so I didn't look like a total newbie and its really been a huge help. Luckily I also chose a club where there are is a great group of girls who have welcomed me very warmly. Because of this my other question lies here: if a girl has helped me out in such things as bringing custies to the stage for me, helping me get dances, or directing me to regulars, should I tip them as a thank you? There were a couple of them who were really hooking me up last night and I probably would not have made some of the money I did without them. I'd like to think that its only because they're really nice and want to see me do well or maybe they were expecting me to tip for their help. I figure in doing this, I could expect to be helped again in the future which I could benefit from....
