epsom salt baths
herbs in tea or in the bath - milky oats & lemon balm are great for tea. lavender, chamomile, and rosehips are great for tea or bath. homemade herbal tinctures are awesome for health too.
my favorite skin/face scrub is finely ground rice (i use my blender to grind it) mixed with water, lemon juice, and/or olive oil. rub everywhere - it makes your skin insanely soft.
my favorite skin/face mask is mashed avocado with honey, yogurt, lemon juice, and olive oil.
i use an oil blend as a face treatment a few times a week...castor oil mixed with olive oil. olive oil nourishes and castor oil pulls out impurities - rub it on liberally, massage your face, and use a hot wet rag over your face as a steaming treatment afterward, then scrub clean. i prefer a 50/50 mix but some people do 80 olive/20 castor or other mixes.
organic coconut oil all over - lube, hair moisturizer, skin moisturizer. plus you can cook with it.
i use body art quality henna on my hair and nails (for color and because it is a healthy treatment for your hair and nails), as well as do henna tattoos on myself regularly. i never use heat (like a blowdryer) on my hair - i just wash it before bed and let it dry naturally. also i don't use any kind of harsh chemical treatments, like chemical hair coloring or perms.
i second whoever mentioned baking soda for everything. i use it for shampoo sometimes (heavily diluted) as well as for other things...since i use henna regularly and coconut oil to condition my hair now i don't need to pay out the ass for fancy shampoo to keep my hair healthy anymore.
i'm a broke bitch and i hate spending money on beauty products so i love having my own spa in my kitchen
