Default wedding ring stolen from locker

I left it wrapped up, hidden. I forgot I put it there (I NEVER bring expensive jewelry to work. It was a fluke) Someone must've saw me put it in there and bided their time to steal it. Nothing else was taken.

Yes I was an idiot let's move on now. I'm devastated enough I don't need to be berated about my stupidity.

I've called the sheriff's department and am waiting for a call back. I spoke with the managers. Not much they can do. I am going to scope out pawn shops tomorrow when they open, with flyers with photo of the ring and a number to call if they see it. I am putting up flyers at work, with a photo of it, phrased " If you have seen my wedding ring, please let me know so I can get it back. It is my wedding ring. It is priceless to me. I will pay to have it back. If it has been pawned and you know where, plase let me know which pawn shop it is at so I can buy it back. Leave a note in my locker, with a manager, or wherever". It wasn't individually insured against loss or theft.

Is there anything else I can do? Or is that about it and just hope for the best? I am so so so sad. I've been crying for about three hours.

some fliers with" Lost Wedding band- will compensate $whatever..".. this way whoever stole it might bring it back and say they "found it"...I think this might be the best ideea.... was it a plain gold ring or did it have diamonds? I dont think police will do anything about it...
I once lost my wedding band too.. walking the dogs.. it was at night time... I went back with a flashlight and found it! Lucky me..

Make a report with both the Sheriffs Dept and the City PD the both should have separate stolen property sections.

Obtain a copy of your receipt from the Jewelry store where it was purchased. If the jewelry store can provide a photo of that ring style this will help.

Inscription? If so get that in the report, this makes your ring unique and easier to return.

All the information about the stone 9carats, color, clarity, cut), and provide the number for the jeweler to the detectives. Some diamonds are serialized to prove origin on the world market.

    Ring size and gold content.

Get a report number with the code for the NCIC entry. This may take some days for them to enter it.

Hit up the big chain Pawns in town first. These can communicate between each other.

    Good Luck.

    The National Crime Information Computer.

This is a Nation wide data base maintained by the FBI.

Commonly used by Law Enforcement to check drivers licenses and vehicle registrations; in addition stolen items are entered into this system too. This way if you ring turns up in say Albuquerque or Seattle it can be returned to you.

No advice, just sending virtual hugs. Fuck that must have stung. My wedding ring isn't super valuable, but I would feel the same way if mine was taken.

    I hope you find it.

Oh babe - that really sucks. I feel for you, truly I do. I lost my hand-made Wedding Ring on my honeymoon..(!!) - and had to have another one made and then Blessed again. I had a terrible feeling in my tummy when I found it had gone. I sincerely hope yours is found.

    Big hugs from the UK.......

Oh babe, I'm so sorry. How terrible. You must just be aching right now from the bottom of your heart.

For what it's worth - I don't think you're stupid. Sometimes you forget, everyone does, it happens. You did what you could to be safe about it; you wrapped it up and put it in your locker. It should not have been taken from you at all. From time to time I've let my mind slip and brought valuable things to work (Expensive Purses, iPhone's, jewelry) and all you can do it hide it away. It's just bad luck that someone spied you out this one time that you had it with you.

Hope it gets returned. Make sure you stress that you're willing to pay to have it back, or for any info that leads to you finding it. Hopefully that'll pull at someones heartstrings.

    Sending hugs!

Jessie, it was the upgraded version. It's why I'm so heartbroken.

Thanks for all the support. I, too, hope the heartless bitch gets what's coming to her. I sincerely hope Karma gets her bigtime.

Do you have home insurance? Have you checked to make sure they won't cover it?

Are you absolutely positive you left it in the locker?

I have crappy home insurance. They only cover up to $1000, of which I get $750 after deductible.

Yes, I'm sure. The thief left me my band, took the expensive diamond engagement ring.

I could read it Papi - not much information in the text but it potentially sounds like a good idea.

Ugh, so sorry! I've definitely brought valuable things to places where they might get stolen before, I think we all do that unless we're perfect, and it's just bad luck that one asshole was in the wrong place at the wrong time and saw you.

    No cameras?

    Best of luck!

No cameras... I was so mad when I found that out. They just installed a shit ton in all the other places, but not where it could really matter. aarrgghh!! and I just spent all day yesterday and today canvassing all the pawn shops and used jewelry stores in town handing out photos of my ring along with the police report number. sigh...

I'm so sorry to read this. I really hope you find it. I almost had all of my belongings stolen about a month ago. I say almost because I acted on my suspicion.

What happened was... I came to my locker mid-shift to find another lock on there! I work at the Spearmint Rhino in Vegas and it's always a hectic place to work. I asked the manager to review the cameras for me (luckily they did) and I got everything back.

Does your place have cameras? Maybe you can ask to do the same?
Wish you the best and hope you get it back!
