Lots of girls in Toronto. My advice if you don't already have a license: Don't bother.

^ hey I have a question about that... can you work illegally in TO?? Im a canadian citizen but who the hell knows if my SIN is still current. Probably not since Im a perm res in Australia now but I was thinking do you think any clubs there would let me work? Here girls can work in kings cross with literally no paperwork at all... they dont even check your ID. Anywhere similar in TO? Im gonna be there for a short period and wouldnt mind some play money.

I'll PM you later today when I'm fully awake and thinking straight.
i thought it would be better to get accepted to club where i can work and then get a license

They won't speak to you without a license honey. That's the first thing they ask for.
"Do you have a license?".
They won't even show your around the club or let you past the check-in. There was a club, about a year ago, that offered assistance with getting a license, basically the club pays for your license and you work it off over the course of 8 shifts to pay them back. I've heard they've stopped doing that as too many new dancers were letting the club pay for a license, working one shift, decided they didn't like dancing, and bolted without paying the club back. The license will run you about $325ish, and the police clearance you need to get the license is about $100.
You don't need a license to work outside of Toronto, so you might be able to try Missassauga. Landing Strip would be a good first club to start with out there, there's money and they're very 'high end'. It's known to be VERY dirty and very competitive in Missassauga though, so I'd be wary.
Dancing in the GTA is tough, and not always very profitable. This summer has been a lean one for strip clubs (More than one has closed down in the Toronto area since May), so management is moody and girls are catty and more competitive than ever.
I would say Toronto is one of the worst areas for dancing simply because of the amount of girls. 50 girls on the floor, at even a Divey club, is a small amount. The only areas I've heard that are also this bad are Montreal and maybe Ottawa (because all the Quebec girls flood in in the summers).
I wish you all the best, but if you can dance outside of Toronto it would probably be better.
P.S. Now that I think about it, one girl mentioned Zanzibar can be pretty shady about letting girls work without a license...maybe try there for one night? I didn't like the management there though, REALLY unprofessional.
If I had my time back, I would never have moved to Toronto for dancing. Srs.
^I think me and 4ever were chatting about zanzibar awhile back. we heard from the grapevine that, yeah they're shady about letting you work there, underage, and without a liscense, but it's because the girls that do this have a "man" who is "in" with the management if you catch my drift....
You know what, toronto is gross sometimes yes, but if you really want to dance and make money it is possible, just harder than in other areas of the country. It NOT a good place to start dancing though, because like the other girls mentioned, it is super cutthroat, lots of extras, etc. To be honest, it would probably really turn you off of dancing, you are a lot better to dance in TO once you know how to hustle WELL. Is there a reason that you wanted to start in TO specifically? I know lots of girls think bigger city=bigger money, which is true some nights, but it is not consistent at all. There are also plenty of $100 nights for many girls that dance clean. I have no choice but to dance there during the school year, because I don't have a car, but if I did, I would try Whiskey, in Vaughn, and probably clubs in Oakville, Oshawa, Whitby, Barrie/Richmond Hill, Burlington, Hamilton, and maybe even as far as Ste. Catherine/Niagra Falls. Bottom line: TORONTO sucks a lot more than the GTA in general, and the GTA is effing huge, if you have a car, start in one of the burbs or nearby cities that you don't need a liscense for, you'll probably make more money and keep your sanity anyway!!
PS if you want someone to go splitsies with on gas, I'd be sooooo down to come check out some GTA clubs when I return in the fall![]()
More and more dancers in Toronto are working in massage parlours, and more and more massage girls are working as escorts... I've been in the escorting industry in Toronto for 5 years; the first 3 years I worked I knew 4 (5?) ex-dancers at escorting agencies. Now, I know 25+ former dancers. It seems a lot of people made the move last summer.
Along the same vein, the favourite strip clubs on TERB (the local Toronto board) are in Mississauga and heavy on the extras. The extra prices there are low - lower than a low/mid-range escort. If that's something you're comfortable doing you might as well apply at escort agencies and make more money.
Maybe try an outskirt club that's NOT Mississauga - there's one in Burlington I think, one in Hamilton, one in Oshawa... I don't know if you'd make enough to make it worth it, but competing in an already-crowded environment full of old pros is difficult.
Also, be aware that there is always some form of contact during dances in Toronto, even at the high-end, visible places.
I wouldn't ever want to be a dancer in Toronto, they've got a pretty tough job.
PS. Zanzibar used to "help" with "licenses", in the words of a co-worker. It sounds really shady because it IS really shady. I've heard from many dancers that they dislike the management there.
Toronto-based, very rough draft, constantly asking for input!
Our bodies, our rules.
Stand together or fall apart.
St. Catherines/Niagara Falls is a really busy SC area because of all the tourism, but aren't there a huge whack of American girls that come up on the weekend?
Also, Hamilton is supposed to be pretty decent. Blue collar town but there's only one strip club there and Hamilton is a big city. Need a license for an interview in Hamilton as well.

^ I don't get how there would be a whole whack of american girls working...unless they're doing it illegally. Because you need a liscense there too, only 125 though...I think? Anyways, I don't know how they would get the liscense without canadian ID. Nice to know about hamilton, I may check that out at some point!
I've heard that niagra falls is supposed to be good because that's where all the pimps that try to get me want to take me LOL. But, hey, they must know their own business right? They also say Windsor is good too![]()
hell no!they actually asked me about licence i said that i dont have it yet so manager offered me to pay for my license (of course i will pay back)
anyway i decided to work at Filmores the club looks VERY nice but small and the girls and stuff are great...so yep i thinking about to start working there)

BAHHAHA! I've heard that line too! "I take you too Niagara and u can make some real cash dere girrrrlllll". Right on. Lol.
I heard last summer (from the girls in the dressing rooms in Toronto, mind you, so take with salt) that Niagara has started getting strict on the "must have license" thing. They really don't "need" to take American girls anymore as all the best and the hottest from Toronto + all over are going to The Sundowner, and Penthouse I think? Why take on a liability like an unlicensed American when you have 150+ HOT girls to work the floor with licenses already?
I've also heard this summer that the money isn't good there on weekends anymore because of the sheer AMOUNT of girls travelling in.
Yep, that was the one that was doing the licensing thing last year. I lived in the Hotel ABOVE that club for 6 months last year, when I first landed in Toronto. I only worked at Fillys for 6 weeks. Good luck there dear, but be careful. It's a brothel.
Be careful of the hring manager (The Friendly Ghost). He gets.....Handsy.
Start your shifts early for the first week or two (@4:00 pm instead of 7:00pm) so you can get the hang of it. There's also less competition from 4 to 8, so you'll have an easier time in the beginning.
HAHHAH! I remember one night in the smoke room, me you and Sugar bitching about all the nastiness we saw. Comparing notes on who did what, etc. I think we were pretty drunk/high because we all found it absolutely hilarious rather than depressing and upsetting. And I remember showing you my boobs in the hallway I think.....???
D'awww......Come back to Toronto Sadie! Don'tcha miss the Nipple-Lickers and Pussy Intruders?![]()
^LMAO. One word of advice to stave off the nipple lickers: purrell. The disgusting face they make is PRICELESS (mix of sourface and lip smacking in distaste)
As for filmores, never made decent money there, too many girls imo, never SAW nastiness, but heard lots about it! Mind you, there's nastiness at every club in t-dot and sometimes it's good to work in a nasty bar because then you get all the men that walk in and just want to have a good time and not a $50 blow...
ok, how about "for your eyes only"?
classier club, has a better rep than other places, and attracts more wealthy clientele. $80 COVER (for the guy) just to get into a booth though. That doesn't include what they pay you, and for $80 just to get up to the private dance area...the guys are going to expect one hell of a dance. Just because the guys wear suits doesn't mean they don't know how much things cost, and they won't bitch and moan: "I can get a massage with a happy ending over at massage parlour X, and you're telling me I've gotta drop $80 just to get upstairs? Beat it lady!" I've heard that you can bank there because of all the wealthy clients, but also that it's uber competitive. 4ever can probably elaborate.

My home club. Not newbie friendly, but they'll take if you're hot and have a license. Dj Cliffe is a dick. Girls are catty and steal. There's NO LOCKERS for new girls, so bring a bag with a LOCK and expect to hustle your ass off. Lots of Romanian girls who know how to work and are vicious. Bounces won't help you with the exception of one - Ryan. You'll do 2-3 stage shows a night, and they don't have to be great. Stage fee before 6 is $25, after 6 it's 45. You'll have to tip the DJ if you don't want a hard time of it. After about 3-4 months the DJ will assign you a locker if he likes you. You'll have to do 2 days a week starting off on shift -which means 5pm to midnight - but you can stay till 2:00am. Shift work pays $75, but they take a $15 'fee' or something, so it works out to $60. You get paid on Friday or Saturday.
When you go in, ask for Paul. He's the manager. A very scary, tall, bald Romanian in a suit.
The hustle there is to sell "booths"; which are $80/hour for just the room, and an additional $300/hour for you (or $150/half hour or $20/song, but most girls try to sell the hour). There's booths on the lower level with a glass front, and more private booths in the VIP upstaires - if you want to sell an upsaitrs booth it's an additional $20 cover for the VIP area. That's where the extras will happen. Not all the guys who want a booth upstairs are looking for extras, but keep in mind that's where the shit goes down.
You can sell dances without selling booths - dances on the downstairs floor are $20 each, LOW contact. Upstairs in the VIP there's a little couch area you can dance in, but still open for anyone with a VIP bracellete to see, and they're $20/song and $20 for cover (of course). Have fun explaining all that to a drunk guy. It's pure hell. I wish the club had an easier pricing system. Dancings are SUPER OMG FUCKING high contact.
They have the chip system at FYEO - if a guy buys chips or pays in credit card, the club will take 15 to 25%, EVEN OFF YOUR TIP. So if a customer buys an hour with you, pays you 300 for your time, and tips 200 for an even 500 in total, you'll lose up to 25% of that to the club. You pick up your chips the following weekday. FYEO is closed on Sundays, which means if you make money in chips on Friday, you don't get your cash until Monday evening.
Keep your eye on the waitresses. They can be your biggest help or worst enemy. They will KEEP your chips if you let them, so if some guy pays you for your time on a credit card, and the waitress can't get your chips right away, make SURE you go see her when the lights come on at 2am and get your money.
Honestly, if you start there you'll be eaten alive. That club is high pressure and very dog-eat-dog.
If you have your license a great starting club might be Paradise?

Wanted to add, I realize we're coming off as kinda territorial, but that's not my intention. If you do end up working in Toronto, whatever club you get hired at, let us know and we'll give you tips. Between myself, Sadie, Odette and 2 other Toronto girls on here we have almost all the downtown clubs covered (and many around Ontario).
I'm not trying to scare off Newbies, just trying to give a realistic picture. I don't want to tell you how great a club is when the reality is it's really hard to work here. But I will help out a fellow SW'er as much as I can.
I wish you all the best though!!!

Oshawa club sucks. There are many guys that go there just for a drink and to hang out with friends. I dont know why the club lets that happen. There are at least a dozen guys that go there regularly and never buy dances. People just use it as a hang out place, it's rude I think.

It's called hotel royal in whitby.
Where I am the clubs are pretty much empty in January and February. Does anyone know if it's the same in Toronto? I know I want to go away for at least a few of those brutal weeks.

Brass Rail and FYEO are business as usual - not busy, not dead. All the men are back to work on Bay St. and on King, and want something to take their minds off the cold, winter blues.
I heard that 'smaller' clubs aren't as busy during that time - everyone is still tight from Christmas and the New Year; but I don't know first hand.
Might be worth travelling for if the clubs you're working at are REALLY lousy.
yeah!today is my first day as a stripper in Toronto ) wish me luck

^Good luck babe!
