Mind Blowing How do I dance?

A few weeks ago I finally decided that I was going to get into dancing however, I dont exactly know how to dance. lol

I want to start dancing asap but I dont know any of the moves. I've been on youtube and i've learned some moves on there but I feel like I need more help than just Youtube.

I have no money to go take classes, so I must do this on my own.

Does anyone know of any good sites or where I can find some material to learn some killer moves FAST?

It isn't all housewife stripper class either. You don't need the stripper class.

The best way to learn is to just go do it, you will catch on. A lot of clubs will let you get on stage and practice if you go in early or before opening. Maybe if the girls are friendly they will come up and help you. My first time dancing a few girls saw me making a complete fool of myself and they came and helped me.

Have you ever been to a strip club? It sounds like you haven't. I would pay one a visit (if you go during the day, most don't have cover charges) and just watch (maybe tip) the stage for a bit. You'll quickly learn that it doesn't take much to put on a good stage show - move slow, make eye contact, don't look bored. As for moves? Lots of posing, stretching, running your hands over certain parts of your body (legs, boobs, ass, etc. your good features). You really don't need an arsenal of fancy moves to be a stripper, trust me.

Besides, EVERY girl goes through that awkward baby stripper phase where your movements will look a bit awkward and you try and figure out your dance style. But don't sweat it, it's practically impossible to "blow it".

just go and watch. if you can go one night to a club your not auditioning at as a custy and watch, buy yourself a dance or two and tell the girl your thinking of dancing and maybe she'll show u a move or two while dancing for you... ive done that for chicks that have come in..

I totally remember going home the day I was hired at a club thinking, "Okay now what? What do I do on stage?" That seemed scarier to me than actually getting the job!

The other girls are right, you don't need classes. Just watch the others, copy what you like, leave the rest. Obviously don't hijack some girl's signature move but aside from that we are all basically doing much of the same things with our own twist. My advice, move slow, point your toes, and make eye contact with the customer. Don't appear vacant and don't be so serious. You would be surprised the difference in money you make if you engage the customers with a bit of a smile and eye contact held for a few seconds. I don't just mean in stage tips, I mean they will be much more likely to want to buy dances from you. So many dancers don't understand that it benefits you to make the customers feel welcome to be at the club. They are there for you, not the other way around.

Thats all. Have fun up there! Don't worry about looking new - you are! Lots of customers like that because they assume you are not yet jaded and full of tricks to rip them off.

Everything Tempest said ... notice all the comments about moving slowly. A lot of new girls try to go all Flashdance and Hip Hop or whatever, and it often does not work well. And even if you look a little awkward moving slow... a lot of guys will immediately recognize your newness and seek you out. Work that while you can! And when pointing your toes, they need to be straight in line with your leg or push them outward ... it looks funny if they point inward. But again, not a big deal in the beginning.

As much as I looove the actual dancing part. It's really overrated. I've always been an exceptional dancer, but that's because I got into the biz to be a dance performer for myself. As long as you figure out a few things that really work for you, and you maintain your looks enough, it's your sales/closing/shmoozing/funness that will make the money and that's what you are there for. The choreography can come after you master the sales/closing/shmoozing/funness foundation, if that's what gets you through. Many of the biggest money makers I've known over the years were simple posers on stage and did very little on stage.

    Good luck sistah!

I'm really nervous about the dancing too, just because of the audition, and that I want to work topless for a while first. But moving slow shouldn't be too hard for me

i don't really think it's all about certain moves or techniques when it comes to dancing on stage...just focus on moving your hips and making your body look really fluid

i've never taken any dance classes and no one taught me how to dance but i get a lot of compliments on my dancing mainly because of the way i move my hips

customers always ask how i learned to dance and they ask if i practice in the mirror and i just say 'no i guess it just comes naturally for me!!' when i really do practice in the mirror at home! lol

a good thing to practice to get used to moving really fluidly and sensually is by practicing the body roll...i used to do that all the time and would record myself doing it so i could watch myself and see how i looked and it's really helped! (i recently watched one of my older videos and i looked so retarded!! haha practice definitely has helped!) good luck!

Don't dance like you're in the club, please it's painful to watch newbs attempt this. -_-

And don't try to booty pop. It looks like you're straining the toilet trying to pass a huge turd.

Always point your toes, move slowly until you're more comfortable (if it's a fast song, move half-time), sway your hips, smile.

Remember that squatting rarely looks sexy. Especially if you lean back holding the pole, bend at the knees, and thrust your vagina at the pole. I don't know why, but I see new girls do this sometimes. One of them has been doing it for a month now because she won't listen to any advice. It's painful. Anyway...

Arch your back - good posture makes you look fit. Run your hands over your curves.

Until you've got some practice on the pole, use it for balance instead of for tricks.

Also: DON'T HUMP THE STAGE. It's worth saying again. Don't try anything fancy, including booty popping.

Hon, none of us took classes. We just started. Watch the other girls. Feel the music. Keep it simple. You'll learn. Just remember to move slowly. Even if you think you already are, and smile. You'll be fine.
