Default Hanging with customers before your shift?

I've seen girls do this. They sit at the bar with street clothes on, have drinks, and chit chat with customers before their shift. Sometimes for even an hour or two! Do any of you do this or have seen it done at your club? Is it an effective way to hustle for dances later? I don't think I would have the patience. I'm the type that gets ready at home and gets to the club ready to work on the floor immediately.

Girls do that at my club, which is a popular bar in addition to being a SC. Many of the regulars come several times a week and often before or after a shift some of the girls will sit and hang out with the patrons, who for all accounts have become their friends over the years. More of the day-girls do it than night and it's totally acceptable. Sometimes girls will come in off-shift as customers too, bringing friends or other dancers from work who are not working.

At most clubs I worked we were not allowed to be on the floor unless we were working or right before and after a shift. A few clubs dancers would come in on off times but were usually treated as customers.

I'm pretty sure those girls are getting compensated for that, and/or they will do a multiple hour room with a fat tip.

ugh no. my street clothes represent my non-stripper self and I refuse to interact with those assholes when I'm not in my stripper garb.

This shit would not fly at any club I've ever worked at.

I've seen girls walk onto the floor in street clothes to talk to customers that they knew.

    Frustrating.

Yeah, at my club, girls who weren't working would come in all the time with their guy friends. I honestly found it rather frustrating, because those guys would never spend money on any of the other girls. I never understood why they would rather hang out there when they don't have to be there for work than go to any of the other 30 bars in the area. To me, while working, it was just aggravating to have to avoid an entire table of customers because there was a fellow co-worker, sitting there off-the-clock, basically making sure that these guys didn't spend money on anyone at the club but her...

As far as doing it before my shift, I would also consider that a no-no. It's pretty much the same thing - you're taking customers away from girls who are currently working. Plus, I just wouldn't want to get too buddy-buddy with someone while in my "regular" persona. They would probably pull that "Oh, well, we're friends now - I can't get a lapdance from you!" bullshit once I got changed.

HA yeah I would likely call these guys "freeloaders" and the girls "cock-blockers"...

Occasionally on slow shifts I'll text one of my regulars and ask them to come visit me, but hanging out for an hour unpaid? Nope. Perhaps the girls are seeing it as more of an investment-- such as the customer will end up giving them good money when they are later working. At some of the alcohol clubs I've worked at, management specifically referred to it as a 'no no' to engage in customer interaction while not on the clock. Do the girls that are working get pissed when girls off the clock interact with the customers? Seems like it'd be taking money out of their pockets..
I think the girls see it as an investment. And as mentioned before, perhaps "cock-blocking" some of the girls already working before their shift. I don't really see as fair but whatever. We have a high turnover so most of the girls are naive and don't get it enough to be pissed. I'm not a vet but not new either so I know how shit flies. The girls at the bar have been working at the club a looong time though and happen to be serious hustlers. No doubt they are friends with a lot of the guys at the bar already. BUT STILL nevertheless irritating. Management and esp. bartenders do not care as long as drink sales continue.

I don't have the patience , but I've seen this done frequently at one place I go ( WY ) . I don't think it's strategy though. Haha. I think it's just girls getting their buzz on before they get stripper ready.

I agree, I think it's a good way for girls to get some free booze before they get their sexy on.

Its a strategy for regulars type of clubs. The Lodge in Dallas is a very good example of this. Many of the big spending customers NEVER get dances....but they will slip you $700+ if you have the patience to sit and chat for the entire evening and "trust" that they will take care of you.

Most clubs in the US...this is not a good strategy.

Wow... I think I said this already in another thread but, I think I'm in the wrong club!

I would never do this, but then I like to keep stripper me and real me completely seperate... Plus like someone else says I hate the thought that I'm not getting paid for my time.

I'll be polite and cheery if I bump into a customer outside the club, and had a few dances as a result of being recognised like that, but I'll never make conversation.
