    Default Coach bag

My gf wants me to list her coach bag on craigslist. She bought it last year for $240. How much do you think we should ask for it?

Go on there, check out the other listings..click on completed listings to see what prices it/similar items have sold for..also check out bonanza.com, & there's a couple others, I've read about in Lucky mag. I believe there's some places that just sell bags, or bags/shoes.

That's good advice; prices are all over the map though, so it's hard to tell. For now I posted it for $100 obo.

I'd need better pics than that. Seams, back, corners, shoulder strap and the inside tags/plaque (for lack of a better word). Does she have the certificates and the original dust bag?

Thanks for responding. I took some more pics, not sure how well they came out, I tried to take extreme close ups of whatever wear and tear I could see. Certificates and dust bag? no.

The first is the worst spot, there is some slight fraying in the back left bottom corner.... you have to look at it closeup in good light to see it.

The second is the back right bottom corner, there is some visible wear ... closeup in very bright light.

Strap... in the second strap pic you can see were the stiching is starting to come loose on one side.

Other than that it looks perfect.

Without proof or some kind of verification that it's authentic it's not going to be worth much, regardless of the original price tag.

well frankly I didnt think it was worth much either, she's better off just keeping it, but she thought it'd be worth a bundle.

But me saying no to her? Ain't gonna happen anytime soon, lol.

Tbh that's a lot of wear and tear on a bag only about a year old too.

Alot of people don't have original dust bag or certificate of authenticy cards but you can post pics on purse forum and they can tell if you post enough pics. Fake coach are easy to spot as well as jimmy choos and louis if you know your purses but best bet is to sell on ebay with a reserve or take it to a high end consignment shop.

Yes people will know it's a fake if they know their stuff, but I have every coach dust bag and certificate to every single one I own as do many people who treat it as a designer type purchase.

Portero Luxury is a high end consignment-you can buy or sell through them. They have a team to authenticate items so you KNOW you aren't buying a fake and for those who wish to sell througgh them I'm pretty sure THEY set the price-no bidding, just the price of what it is genuinley worth. And yes, you ladies will get ADDICTED to this site-I bought teal suede Manolo Blaniks in unscuffed sole condition (excellent) for $50! Brand new Jimmy Choos for $250! But don't be fooled;they sell for what something is worth-my Manolo's were SO many seasons ago trendy...and they have Hermes bags for $105,000 so yes, I shop for the cheapest deals!

^ you would be surprised how many people don't have dust bags and cards especially on coach bags..... they're not that high end I have three in my closet my ex bought be still figuring what to do with them. I see tons of jimmy choos, gucci and other high end purses on ebay probably half have authenticy cards. Alot of these women who sell on there get a new purse every season or have wealthy husbands who buy them a 3,000 bag a few times a year so I can see why alot don't have receipts, cards etc.
