The recent "how much experience is really necessary?" thread got me thinking...
I've never lied on a job application, except to say I worked as a housecleaner during all the time I danced, to explain being independent while also having people and communication skills.
Has anyone completely lied on their application? Did it ever bite you in the butt?
I would think unless it was a pretty important job with access to secrets like anything to do with a law office or medical office, it would a) never be discovered, and b) wouldn't be a big deal even if it was discovered so long as you were a good employee.
Just curious--
It's like college applications-- I might want to take some community college classes just for the heck of it (already have a couple of degrees) but you can be damned sure I'm not going to send away to all the many colleges I've attended to for transcripts, so I'll likely lie and say I've never been to school before. As far as I can tell, it's not like it'd matter since I wouldn't be getting state funding or anything, and if they found out and said no, well, I'd know better for the next piddly school application.
