    Default Wearing a Gown

I work in a rather sleazy strip club where the girls are getting bigger and the outfits are getting trashier. I want to start wearing gowns to add some class to the place.
How do I dance in a gown, though?

It can take a little getting used to. If you're an energetic dancer or like pole tricks at all, you'll have to make some changes. I generally like having on a sparkly bikini set underneath a gown, so I can shimmy out of the gown before the end of the set and still have something on.

This is my area of expertise! I am planning to create some instructional dance vids ... This question has inspired one of the themes I will first choose. Thanks!

First off, I've never liked the way it looks when a girl with a gown starts crawling around on stage. I suppose it can work if it's done right ... Maybe guys like it, but I just don't think it looks sexy, personally, so I just don't think you should.

My favorite gown... I used to have this awesome gown by Jessica McClintock. It was a quality, sparkly, magenta, tube, strapless thing with a long zipper in the back. Very Jessica Rabbit. Nobody in my club wore real gowns, just the rare, but trite sheer stripper dress or robe. Anyways, I made triple the amount of money I'd been used to before the one crazy day I decided to wear that thing and I ended up wearing it out after about 3 or 4 months. I banked in it!

We only did one song sets and I am very good at belly/hula type moves and studied ballet and developed the habit of walking like a ballet dancer which looks great in a gown ... the trick is to drag your toes, keep them pointed and out away from your body, it starts with the way you hold your legs from the top, with a slight turnout. Anyways do a lot of sexy walking, run your hands up and down your body ... hold your finger in your mouth, look over your shoulder and do a bootie wave with slightly bent knees (not bootie bouncing!... look at some burlesque routines on youtube, they do have some really cute little moves and it will really make you stand out) then, if you have a zipper in the back, like mine, you can have a guy at the stage undo you from behind. They loved it! If you are only doing one song sets, then you don't need to spend much time staying in your dress anyways, so just a few elegant and playful burlesque-ie moves are all you need. Once you get down to the next level, you can resume your normal pole or bootie bouncing if you want, but I am a little old school and like to actually use different styles for different costumes and music, so I would stay in that striptease/burlesque style of dance, personally.

I think you should go for it! If it doesn't pay off the first time, try it at least 9 times. If it never goes over after that, then ditch the idea and at least try to have fun with it. But, really, stages at most clubs across the board nowadays are rarely about making money, they are about getting noticed by the guys and to inspire them to get a dance from you, and I'm sure this will get you noticed. I've always found that, if I do stages for myself mostly, then I enjoy it more and the guys sense it, you just are not always aware of it.

Good gown songs ... I'm old school and I'm sure there are some really great new songs, but I know of some oldies that might go over well...

No matter what type of club I worked I always wore a gown. It makes you stand out and gives off an air of expensive. While I do realise that it wouldn't work in every club, there are always exceptions to that but in my experience i always had a good result from wearing them.

I love love love gowns and often get compliments that I have that classic sorta look. N I also attract the older guys who remember when lots of clubs required them. My favorite I actually got at the mall lol. It's a tube top with a long slit goin up mid thigh on one side. I'm actually going to have a couple made for me in this style. I have a few that have more strappy tops n bling and slits in different places but you can still do same moves usually. Why not pull the back of the dress up so they can see the bottom of your bum, look over your shoulder with fuck me eyes. Or get in a squat position with the edge of the dress draping over your butt. Or leg hooked on the pole. You can always build the anticipation up n slowly popping your boobs out one at a time tugging the dress down over them. I think anticipation n timing is key with a gown. You can't just pull it off the way you can with a short dress. Once your boobs are out pull it down to your waist with your butt crack hanging out, go back to ppl that tipped you n get more tips, go to those that haven't n get tipped now that you're more nude so hopefully they're not super cheap lol. If your dress is really satin-y or heavy you can have it fall right to the ground if you push it n jiggle your legs, then step one leg out and lean into pole with legs in a stradle. Like you are so liberated now that it finally fell off lol. Haha, so cheezy, but it's the drama that makes it looks like you're having fun. It's a plus when you slowly strip that you can go back to the guys for a tip every time a new bit of flesh is showing. Instead of getting nude quickly n then trying to come up with a new move every time. I think if the club is more divey stick to simple dresses, not too bright of colors or lots of rhinestones. Otherwise you risk looking too overdone or too unattainable to your clientele.

Some guys hate my technique, but they are the ones that want to get as much as they can for as little as possible n frankly I value my state of mind too much to try to please them. My club seems to have a rash of younger dancers who are willing to allow inappropriate things during dances, cut deals, give lap dances on stage, take dollars out of ears etc. It sucks. So disheartening. But boy does it feel great when that one gem picks you to spend serious money on while the other girls are putting their vag in someone's face for a dollar.

Try to find something that can easily be converted when you go on stage.
I like dresses with triangle or bikini tops so it can easily be pulled to the side. Tube tops work too!
I personally think it's cool to watch a girl on stage wearing a gown. It looks flow-y and pretty.

Here's a couple that I've worn and have worked out pretty well.
