or are most bouncers plagued with anger issues, control issues, insecurity issues, inferiority issues and wannabe pimp issues? IDK, just wondering....

i typically don't have a problem with bouncers, but i can think of one who really thought he was more important than he was. but otherwise, they try to date me, and i explain what lesbian means, but they still bring me snacks so it works out alright.

Yep, I think a lot of them have thos 'macho issues' as mentioned! Part of it could be dealing w/lots of drunk rude ppl though?

I've seen a few with obvious issues, but for the most part the ones I know are just relentless with their come-ons. The biggest issue is their gung-ho-ness for throwing out customers. A club I used to work at got shot at because the bouncers were pretty efficient at their jobs, perhaps a little too much.

I've met one really nice bouncer that I like a lot, but he bounces part time and has only been bouncing for 8 months or so. I think strippers tend to drive anyone crazy after a while![]()
i think men who are employed in strip clubs were once losers that were bullied during school years and now that they are working at strip clubs, they are "oh so cool."
power trippers who dont get it anywhere else.
Most bouncers I've met are pumped up on steroids, and think they're in charge of the girls and are determined to control them. And, they looking for any excuse to physically throw out the kind of customers that probably picked on them in school (frat boy, bachelor party types)
I've met a few nice ones, but that's usually because they're new-ish and the wind up getting like the rest.

Yup! Pretty much all of them. Kinda interesting...
Sophia I so adore the bunny! I love to just watch her, she makes my day.![]()
Sorry I missed church. I was too busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian.

I've never witnessed more self-important bouncers than at the Rhino - just about any one but particularly Vegas. They are highly, highly important people in their own estimation. But now that I think about it, lots of dancers think that about themselves too.

Some start very nice and stay nice, those are awesome. But some start nice and then grow a big head and act superiour to everybody there, even dancers, and stop doing their jobs and look for handouts. It all depends on personality.
A little off topic but I just saw a rerun of undercover boss and it was the CEO of Hooters. There was a manager of the highest grossing sales store in Dallas that was a TOTAL strip club manager/bouncer reject. I mean he was mean and degrading to the girls. He made them eat baked beans hands free off of a paper plate for the "privilege" of being cut early. WTF i totally had a dickhead SC manager/bouncer flashback watching it. At the end of the show he did "resign" The CEO was rightfully so mortified. If anyone can watch it on the site or Hulu do so and you will see what I mean.

Yeah, I remember that guy. He was a real piece of shit. That was exactly the type of controlling demeaning nonsense I had in mind.

You (OP) nailed it!

Wow, I was under the impression that bouncers couldn't act like this anymore due to laws being so strict on what they can and can't do. One club I work at has a guy who stands at the door texting mostly lol and then they'll have a barback who's only security responsibilities include walking girls to car and watching the danceroom when they do 2 for 1 promos. And they're all rather small guys. It's so rare for someone to get kicked out and, it's the girl's responsibility to watch out for herself. Then the other, the bouncers watch over stuff but mostly just give girls they don't like a hard time about asinine things and hustle the customers for tips to bring over girls or get them a table etc. and hustle girls by introducing them to potential big spenders. And of course they flirt. It sucks because some of them will sabotage your earnings to give the money to a girl that feeds into them. I've seen a guy who passed out on a table get dragged out by police and bouncers will gently ask if a guy needs a cab but they never remove people.

Girl, Luv your avatars!![]()
*back to thread..this^ reminded me of a club I worked @, when the owner came in, (not often TG) he would basically throw everyone out, mostly b/c "they weren't drinking enough" I mean come on, it was usually an early afternoon shift when he'd come in! I mean, you throw everyone out? Thank you.
We also had cute, well built bouncer, but clueless, his nickname was "Box of Rocks"![]()

Yes they are. The ones on steroids are the worst with everything the thread starter mentioned.

i've known some who were absolutely awesome. but some others are definitely major douchebags.
i think you can tell a lot about the club culture by how the bouncers act. if the owners and managers don't expect the bouncers to act decent, they probably have a really low opinion of the dancers and customers. especially when you consider how many guys want to be strip club bouncers. the assholes are easy to replace, yet they keep them anyways.
-love everyone but keep them far from your soul-

I'm glad that in Canada (at least in the clubs I work at), the clubs don't take a % of the money that we make from lapdances. We pay a fee to work there and that's it. I tip people out (the dj all the time and the bouncers if they help me out) but that's at my discretion. One of the bouncers there told me to NOT tip them unless they do something for me. When they do, I tip them handsomely.
I worked at this Hooters in Dallas. I have to say, Hooters is the most degrading job EVER! More than dancing, you prance around in an unflattering body suit, act like your are giving a hand job to cold mugs before you pour a guy's beer, flirt with and get hit on by nasty rednecks, you have to put on this cheesy act, and all for like $50 a night!!!!! In 8 hours of work! FUCK THAT!
Where I work...the bouncers think they run the show. Well...2 of them do. They have worked there for over 8 years...so they think they are invincible. One comes in as soon as we open, even when hes not scheduled, and just drinks. He constantly tries to steal beer. His sidekick also comes in when hes not working, just to sit around and stare at the girls, and sell drugs to customers who dont even hang around inside long enough to tip the girls.
Oh and they think they are in charge of getting the girls to come out on time. If one doesnt come to stage they say "im gonna go kick her ass" and storm back there to get them to come out. Ohhhh and they also pocket the house fees for the lap dances.... which has gotten some girls in trouble bc they are the ones being accused of sneaking dances.
they also try to run off the nice new young cute bouncers we get, bc they want to get more shifts so they can continue to steal beer, and sell drugs, and get paid for it. Ahhhh i love where I work let me tell ya..

Most bouncers I've worked with have been pretty nice. The only ones I've ever encountered with a PMS attitude or whatever you wanna call it have existed at the rhino. Not all of them but a few of them are very unpleasant.
