    Default The Gratitude Thread

These days it's too easy for all of us to get caught up in the stress of everyday life and focus on what we need or want. Sometimes it feels like everyone is always striving for more and more and not taking time to appreciate what we already have. Most of us already have everything we need: health, food, water, shelter, clothes, family, and friends.

Girls (and guys) in the sex industry complain about being underpaid and "ONLY making $200 dollars in a night" when there are entire families in third world countries who have to survive off of LESS THAN TWO DOLLARS A DAY.
    http://www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/20...dollars-a-day/

There are people who don't have clean water, clean clothes, 3 meals a day, or shelters to live in, etc. People are starving everywhere so the next time you want to bitch about the waitress getting your order wrong, remember that there are people starving all over the world who would be jumping for joy to eat it.

So why not be thankful for what you have?
"If you have food in the refrigerator clothes on your back, a roof over head and a place to sleep . . .
you are richer than 70% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace . . .

you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness . . .

you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation . . .
you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death . . .
you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married…
you are very rare, even in Canada.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful . . .
you are blessed because although the majority can, most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder . . .
you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore,
you are more blessed that over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all."

What are you thankful for today? Everybody should have something to be thankful for. Even if you have a crappy apartment, a crappy car, and a crappy job, you're incredibly lucky!!!!

I'm thankful that I have a beautiful apartment to live in that's in a safe and friendly neighborhood and keeps me cool on hot summer days like today and keeps me warm in the freezing winter. I'm thankful that I have a reliable car. I'm thankful for my friends and family who are extremely supportive. I'm thankful that I have a high-paying job that allows me to live extremely comfortably while saving money for my future. I'm thankful for my boyfriend whom I love unconditionally. I'm thankful for my health and the ability to support myself. I'm thankful for my ability to see and hear. I'm thankful for the countless luxuries that I surround myself with each day.

I really like your post. I'm so thankful for everything I have, even the bad things because I know at the end I would learn from them and will make me stronger . Sometimes instead of saying oh I have a crappy car, or a crappy apartment we should say oh I have a car and it takes me wherever I wanna go and oh I have an apartment that provides me shelter.

exactly!! every time I drive past a city bus and see how crowded it is I feel lucky. I haven't had to use public transportation since I was 16 and I remember how it always took SOOOO long to get places and how crowded and smelly it was and when the bus was late I'd be late to work and it sucked! And then you gotta think about all the places that don't even HAVE public transportation! People out there are going through tough times and would love to drive a sputtering rattly little '88 honda civic.

have a positive attitude about your life! it's contagious. the next time someone makes fun of you for having an outdated cell phone or car, makes fun of your job, or whatever! ...just shrug, smile and say "at least I have one!"

I am thankful for the beautiful home I have

I am very thankful for being able to make a significant amount of money when I need- on that note, my flexible income...not having to live paycheck to paycheck and my financial security.

I love my freedom. Being able to do what I want when I want and not tied down to a 9 to 5.

    My looks.

^that's a good one. I've definitely taken my looks for granted you forget how pretty you are when you're constantly being rejected at the club, but if you weren't pretty you wouldn't be able to strip at all so might as well be thankful!

hehe on that note my bf the other day was telling me about how his coworker was congratulating him on how hot I am hahahahaha definitely made me smile

I'm grateful for a great job, my faith, my physical, mental, and emotional health, a loving family, my dog, her good behavior and good health--I consider myself to be a very fortunate person, and I'm grateful for my good fortune!

    This is a terrific thread!

And I'm very grateful for this forum--I have seen so much kindness and goodness here; I also learn so much and I enjoy sharing ideas!

I love this thread!! I've been so focused lately on how stressed I am over everything that's going wrong in my life, and feeling snowed under with all the things I need to fix. But no matter how bad things are, I try to always take a minute to think about how grateful I am for the little things.

I'm so grateful I have a beautiful apartment to live in, in a nice neighborhood with things like walking trails and pools.

I'm grateful that I live by the beach and can enjoy the outdoors and the ocean whenever I want.

I'm glad I live in a country where I have the freedom to be myself.

I'm glad I have the opportunity of having a job where I can earn a lot of money, and do it almost anywhere in the US.

I'm grateful for my cat, who loves me unconditionally and can't wait to see me every time I walk in the door

I'm glad I have a car, even if it is temperamental at times

I'm glad I have nice food and can afford to cook nice things

I'm greatful for my husband. No really, I just love him so much today.

For the realization and acceptance that I love being a dancer. Not gonna apologize to anyone for a job that gives me a really good life.

    Stripperweb!

Health, family, my dogs, all that good stuff.

My comfy bed, where I am going now. Goodnight!

I am grateful that some people love this country and its inhabitants so much that they risked their lives for it.

I am grateful for all the women who have allowed me to love them and to fuck and suck them and those who have done the same for me.

And I am grateful for those strippers who have put up with bad customers and still have stripped and danced for me (a good customer).

And a lot more that may not be relevant here.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

today I'm REALLY grateful for my car...even if it it does have a lot of expensive repairs..lol there was this girl wandering around the club after close asking EVERYBODY for a ride home.

also grateful for the fact that I don't have a drug addiction and can manage money well enough to never have to ask people for anything

I'm grateful my little monster is okay. Over $3k later, she's no longer in pain and will be able to walk again. I'm grateful I have the opportunity to pay this debt off. I'm grateful I have a home, and that I can wake up next to the person I love. I'm grateful for a good cup of coffee in all of this stress. I'm grateful for writing and knowing what I want most, even if it's a difficult goal.

I am thankful for my cat, he is the sweetest, most affectionate fuzzy thing you will ever meet.

I am thankful for my man who spoils me.

I am thankful that I have so much potential to do better and I am thankful because I know someday I will be at my full potential.

Whee! I'm so pleased that I found this thread. It looks a little lonely, at that. Glad I searched for something like it instead of making a new one.

Things I'm grateful for (in no particular order!):

Having a roof over my head.

    Being able to eat everyday.

Having electricity and internet access, and by extension, access to this cool forum!

My fiancé, who is the most supportive person I've ever met, and has more patience than you'd think possible for a human being.

The ladies in chat who hang out and give great lessons about life and camming in general.

The fact that I can learn something new every day.

That I have a (mostly!) functional family that I can talk to when I'm having an issue.

That I've finally found the power and energy to change the things about my life that I feel could be improved.

Believe in your own capability to accomplish whatever you set out to do.
