I started saving up for one. No idea where I want to go yet though. Any suggestions ladies?

I'm saving up for Cambodia/Laos over Christmas, Bali in the summer, and Burning Man 2012. Southeast Asia is worth exploring as is Europe and South America. Go to a bookstore and check out some Lonely Planet guides.

why not see a travel agent? just think about what you like and throw some ideas at them. do you like mountains? trees? beaches? cold? hot? snow? sand?

Im saving for a trip to Venice, hopefully to also include Rome and Pompeii.

in southeast asia now. thailand actually, headed to Cambodia in a few days then to Vietnam, laos, and hopefully myanmar.
didnt save much for this trip. but i travel dirty, im not a high maitenence princess. a lot of couchsurfing, shitty hostels, hitchhiking etc etc over here.
i should be gone till october. over the next yr i plan to take vacations to south africa, syria, and india.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.
I'm definitely going somewhere soon just haven't found the spot.
saving up for a trip to rome. will probably be in the next few years cuz i have to save slow as its my least big priority right now. i can't wait tho!![]()
Chicago (horse racing and debauchery) in mid-September and Lexington, Kentucky (horse racing and debauchery) in the second weekend of October.

Come to Guam. It's an American territory in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, but a hop skip & jump from many awsome Asian cities. I am using it as my home base for now. PS- it is tropical w awsome beaches.
Eh, I'm thinking Germany, maybe Holland. I was just wondering if you guys had any plans for one and what they were.

I used to take one mini vacation a month, like 3-5 days to just get the hell out of dodge for a minute. I've travelled all over Canada and the USA. I have a lil' kiwi buddy who I told I'd love to join the next time she goes to New Zealand. Due to crazy circumstances and luck, I have a sick amount of citizenships, and am planning on using them next year once hubzilla and I have time off.
Good suggestions in Canada:
Victoria, BC: Beautiful, good nightlife, close to USA and it's on the island! Take the ferry, it's worth it.
Quebec City, QC: The poor man's France. It's like 90% francophone, has gorgeous European-esque architecture, the same crime level as Disney World (look it up!) and the food is killer.
Montreal, QC: Canada's New Orleans. 'Nuff said. Check out the Montreal style smoked deli meats and poutine. Yum.
Charlottetown, PEI: Anne of Green Gables' home turf. Quaint, and the best seafood maybe EVER. Cabins are cheap to rent, the seaside is epic. Definitely go Sept-Oct during the down season. You'll need a hoodie, but it's worth it.
Halifax, NS: If QC is the poor man's France, this is the poor man's Norway. Fjords, GORGEOUS scenery, cool bars (more than any city per capita in Canada!), laid back locals. Go to the docks in the morning to get under the table prices from the fishermen.
Notable USA cities I love which need no summary:
San Francisco, CA
Santa Cruz, CA
Monterey, CA
Santa Barbara, CA
Portland, OR
Eugene, OR
Seattle, WA
Denver, CO
Not a city, but drive through Montana. It's epic.
Chicago,IL
Austin, TX
New Orleans, LA
St Augustine, FL
Santa Rosa, NM
Flagstaff, AZ
Myrtle Beach, SC
Reno, NV
Dinosaur, CO
Atlanta, GA
Athens, GA
Ashville, SC
I could go on and on, I've been to all these places and more, and adore them all!

^I'm going on a little road trip in late Sept with my boyfriend, and we will be visiting three of the places on this list (flying to Seattle, then driving to Portland, San Fran), stopping at Yosemite before ending up in Vegas for a wedding!
I'm so excited as I've not been to the West Coast ever...less than 6 weeks to go now![]()

Hopefully head to Bali, Malaysia or Thailand before the end of the year. Never been on a true vacation with my husband, not even a honeymoon so that's my priority in savings for the next couple months.
Possibly going to Keeneland racecourse near Lexington, KY in early October. Technologically, Keeneland is the most advanced racing facility in the country and the fans treat racing like a major league sport, and it is surrounded by the world's leading horse breeding farms. If I do not go to Keeneland I will go to Louisville and Churchill Downs over Thanksgiving Weekend for fantastic racing. Churchill Downs is the home track for the Kentucky Derby.
