    Angry Got SUPER discouraged!

So I called the club that I wanted to work at. They said come at 9. Kewl, so I go up there. Feeling and looking like a million bucks I thought. I get up to the bouncer who can't keep his eyes off me. I tell him I wanted to audition and he says" you know what, to be honest I don't think its a great time but you should try" I get up to the to a woman. And she asks for my I.d I handed it to her and told her I wanted to audition. She didn't even look at me and said "were not hiring any new dancers." What! So I walk out and the bouncer asked how did it go and I said" she said you all weren't hiring but she didn't even look at me" he was like "yeah she a pain in the ass. My advice is coming in the day time, having a few drinks, then try talking to management throught the barteneders" so I said okay and walked the walk of shame back to my car. I know this happens because of the stories I read on hear but I'm not gonna lie, it hurt. It would be one thing if she looked me up and down and said no but to not even look at me?! And the person who was on the phone said they were hiring. Plus I know I looked good since the bouncer and his buddies were trying to get my number. So should I take his advice and come back during the day? My dad says that I shouldn't go back because I place like that are having management problems and he smells drama

If I were in your position, I would take the bouncer's advice.

My current club dicked me around like this for 2 weeks before I was actually hired, but now that I'm "in", it's been fine.

If she didn't even look at you, her reason for sending you away was clearly not personal. You can try to come back when the manager you spoke to on the phone is there, or any manager besides her, really. Even if you do get hired and discover that there is drama there you'd rather not be a part of, you can always just quit and move on.

I'd give it one more shot.

    Good luck!

Summer is pretty slow in many areas, so they could legitimately not be hiring new girls. Another thing to keep in mind is that a lot of clubs have a "cut-off" time at which point girls can't start a shift (or at least not without paying a higher house fee). At my club it's 9pm, so that could have factored in as well. Honestly, I find it a little strange that they told you over the phone to come so late, as clubs tend to be busy that late in the evening.

It would be worth a shot to try again in the daytime though. I find that's the best time to get hired since it's quiet enough that management does't mind taking the time to hire someone (considering they've got to photocopy your ID, explain the rules, show you around, and get you to sign a contract, that can take time) and there aren't often many girls, so they're totally down for adding another to their roster.

Don't give up hope, especially not with that confidence you've got. That's so critical in being a successful stripper!

I would definitely go back, I would maybe wait a few days or a week though, just so it's not like you came back right the next day. You don't want the other manager to get pissy that you ignored her and were back at the club less than 12 hours later.

Don't be discouraged, especially if the lady didn't even look at you!

Waaaay back in 1999 I went to Olympic Gardens in Vegas SIX times before Nick hired me. He was finally like, "You again! You don't give up!"

Years later I ran into him at Treasures and he remembered me and said, "I wanted to hire you the first 5 times you came in, but you didn't have a boob job and back then it was a requirement"

Hold your head high, and don't give up!!

^Why would a boob job be a requirement?!

Let me guess; now they're gonna require ass implants as well, hahahahahahaha.

    Ok, sticking to the subject:
This whole "we're not hiring" line is my least favorite line. After all, is not like the club pays the dancers, right?

lol thats what im saying?! strippers are independent contractors. we go in , bring all are stuff, pay them for their facility, and thats it. so i would guess they would be ecstatic about girls wanting to pay them to use their business to make money FOR THEM.if i was a manager at strip club and i heard any of my staff tell a girl who came in wanting to audition what they told me they would be fired.
