Default Morning After Pill/Birth Control Question

I apologize in advance for the long post, and please, no judgements or scolding. I was stupid (I know), and I thought I fixed it as best I could, but I'm still nervous.

So I've been on birth control for years. This month, I was due to start the placebo weeks the same time I was going to do a cross country move, so I stupidly decided to skip my last two active pills, and took the placebo instead for those two days. I planned to start my next pack two days early as well.

Well during those two placebo days, I had sex with my boyfriend without a condom (also stupid, I'm aware...I just completely forgot about the whole pill thing).

Immediately after sex, I realized my mistake, so we drove to the pharmacy and got the morning after pill, which I took within 2 hours of having had sex.

So I thought I was all good.

I went through the rest of the placebo pills, and started my next pack.

I'm in the second week of the next pack of active pills, and I've been getting period bleeding for the past 3 days. It's heavy, like a normal period. It stopped yesterday, then started again today.

Is it normal for the morning after pill to throw off your cycle, even if you're on BC? I'm just panicking because a friend of mine thought implementation bleeding was her period, so I'm kind of freaked out.

Honey, I've gone through the same exact thing... No one is gonna judge you (I know I certainly wont!) Everyone gets a little distracted when things get hot and heavy, haha.

It IS normal for your period to be irregular after taking plan B.
If you continue to have issues with your menstrual cycle I'd suggest you pay a visit to your gyno or get a blood/serum pregnancy test. Also, Implantation bleeding does NOT look like a regular menstrual cycle... It is light brownish or pinkish spotting.

When I took plan B, my cycle was a little fucked up afterwards but it worked beautifully for me... I was scared because I was ovulating at the time and our condom broke (yikes!) but I took it withing 2 hours of the incident and again later in the evening and I did not get pregnant.

    Hope this helped a bit??

Omg is gonna fuck up your period like crazy. I remember when I took it I got my period 3 times during that month. I don't know why is that, but anyways I would like to read the science behind it.

yeah, I had my period like two and a half times in a month the one time I took planned b.

Basically-- you're good. If you're still having issues after a month, you can take a pregnancy test but you're fine.

It's just it's a LOT of hormones so your body's going to be wtf-ing for a little while.

The package should say that it'll trigger you having your period as that's how it keeps you from getting pregnant. It'll generally happen within a few days of taking the pill, will be heavy than normal, etc.

When I took it, it was heavier than normal, but I also found out that apparently I'm borderline PMDD because the hormones made me CRAZY! (For those of you on low-dose BC, watch out for Plan B, it'll make you a nut job. Just warn your SO.)

The pharmacist also recommended that I use Emitrol (kids anti-nausea syrup) to deal with any nausea that I might have as that's one of the main side effects. I fortunately didn't feel sick after the first pill.

^ I dealt with that by just taking the two-pill version that's 12 hours apart rather than all at once.

That's what I had too, but the pharmcist still recommended anti-nausea stuff because of the high hormone dose that's basically like having super pms (which is why it makes some people wanna yak).
