Default Weird TV shows that you likely never would have gravitated towards except by chance

Falling Skies is a great tv show but it's not something that I would naturally seek out based on the previews. It's turned out to be really good, but

the tv show that has caught me by surprise (and was recommended by sidereel while I was watching something else) is a dark british comedy called Misfits
about....well, if you like superhero stories, dark comedy, and british accents and don't mind some gruesome blood-- this one's for you.

    Maybe.

    I really like it

I watched a British version of Jersey Shore called Geordie Shore from MTV Europe I happened to read about. It's funny because the housemates are British working class versions of their Jersey counterparts. Google their photo. They have a short drunken slutty big breasted girl, a JWoww trashy dressing slutty type, and the guys are big muscular stupid egotistical jocks who call girls "birds." It's every bit as entertaing as Jersey Shore, but the accents might as well be a foreign language (serious!) I can probably understand half of what they say. Still very entertaining. It's worth looking for on the internet.

Let me start this by stating I generally hate cop shows with a passion. I avoid them all but one night back in 2003 I noticed there was nothing on and I start flipping the dials. I came across this one show about crime but it went back and forth from current to past. I was intrigued. This was Cold Case which ended last year. If there hadn't been anything else on I never would have found it, but became a fan of the show. I know it's not a weird show but this was one of the few times I found a show by surfing the dial.

Most shows I check out when people recommend them. Some I end up liking a lot and others bore me.

I watched last night: "monsters inside me" on Animal Planet. Nothing else on, eek, a show about people getting/getting rid of parasites.
Also Allure mag ran an article awhile back about this, I literally did not eat for a day & 1/2 after reading it..

I have to say Red Dwarf, it's a British space comedy. If it weren't for the events that lead me to watch WPT, I would have never discovered it.

United States of Tara on showtime. Just happened to watch one day and then I got hooked. There were only three seasons but definitely worth watching! Sooo good

This sounds so intriguing even though I'm not a fan of the Jersey Shore! I'd watch it just for the accents, lol

As for wierd programmes you come across by chance - it happened to me with 'Twin Peaks'...and I was hooked after 30 minutes.

I tried watching Dr. Who a few times but couldn't really get into it, the spin off Torchwood though really grabbed me for some reason.

I'm going to have to check out Red Dwarf.

I've started the second season of Misfits, and ohmigosh, SO much better than the first and the first was pretty decent.
I laughed my ass off when one of the characters is talking about having Ikea Swedish Meatballs with a pedophile when they were 8.

If you do, I'd actually recomend starting with the second season. The chemistry between the cast members really started to gel by then.
