Default What do you keep in your dancing bag?

Thought it might be fun/informative to list the necessary (and sometimes unique) things we all keep in our bag for dancing.

    1. baby wipes (obviously)
    2. alcohol (for my shoes and feet at the end of the night)
    3. advil

I just started so I only have the basics and the obvious... anyone have any interesting useful items they can't go to work without?

I wrote an article about this on another exotic dancing website recenetly. I guess I'll just copy/paste. I'm going to leave it sounding all instrutional because it makes me feel smart and fancy and sutff :

What to put in your Dancing Bag.

Every dancer, beginner or experienced, needs a well-stocked Dancing Bag. This is what you will take with you as a new dancer when you work your first night at the club, and often what you will use for the first few weeks at a new place until you are provided with a locker.

It’s always best to be as prepared as possible and bring whatever you think you’ll need. Don’t assume that the club will provide much beyond toilet paper and a place to change. There are many things you can take with you to help with the every-day aspects of stripping, as well as things that will help in a rare pinch.

A NEW dancers bag and an experienced dancers bag vary; as you gain experience you will add to your collection of stripping necessities. I’ll outline the basics below.

    The Bag Itself

When I first started I used what I had – which was a small backpack. Small overnight bags, small suitcases, and LARGE tote bags are all fine as well; as long as they can zip up/close completely and lock. It’s important to lock up your belongings, especially initially, until you feel out the club and the girls. I would never feel comfortable leaving my things unlocked in a SC because stealing DOES happen, even at nice clubs. Small luggage locks with a combination are just a nice added protection and ensure everything will still be in your bag at the end of the shift, hopefully.

Try to keep your dancer bag organized as you don’t want used/dirty panties that you’ve already worn rubbing up against your clean outfits/things. I divide my dancer bag into a few main sections and keep everything in clear, gallon sized Ziplock baggies so it’s all easy to find.

    Cosmetics

Makeup – Bring any you might want to apply after you get to the club (remember that exaggerated makeup helps as clubs are often dark) and anything you think you need to make touchups throughout the night. Don’t forget your brushes/sponges/tweezers.

Baby wipes - Great for wiping your cootchie after you use the rest room, for wiping down your body after a particularly vigorous stage show or string of dances. They’re also good for wiping down the pole if the club doesn’t provide sanitizers for you and you’re concerned about cleanliness.

Deodorant/Body Spray – You never know how sweaty you can get dancing until you start. I’ve heard so many customer complain about BO from dancers; no one likes a smelly stripper. Reapply as often as needed to keep smelling fresh but remember that customers do NOT like to go home smelling like heavy perfume.

Tampons and a pair of small scissors – It’s best to carry these around in your bag with you at all times, even if your cycle is regular/you’re on BC/you don’t have periods. You never know when you’re going to start spotting and you don’t want to rely on someone else to back you up in a jam. The scissors are to cut the string of the tampon, but some girls are fine with just tucking the string up inside their vagina, where the muscle hold the string until you fish it out. It’s up to personal preference.

    Costumes

2 Costumes – One that you intend to wear that night, and another in case something gets spilled on you or you feel you need to change for other reasons (doesn't show up well under club lights, some one else has the same outfit, excessive sweat, etc). Dancers who have been working a while will often bring more than 2 costumes with them, and keep some spares in their lockers, but just starting out you want to save room in your bag and not over-pack; two should be plenty.

2 Panties – One to wear, and a spare ‘just in case’ of the same reasons as above. Do some research ahead of time and find out if specific thongs/panties are required at the club you plan to work in. Often times girls need “Legal” thongs in topless clubs that are so many inches across or cover a specific amount of butt-cheek.

Garter/Purse – This varies by area. From what I can tell girls in the US will almost always wear garters, whereas girls in Canada carry little purses around with them. I personally love my little purse, as I can carry a few more things than just money with me. If you are using a garter to collect your money remember to bring some elastic bands to secure your money around the garter well. If you have a purse, remember to NEVER let it out of your sight.

Shoes – Once you’re an established dancer it’s a good idea to bring 2 pairs of shoes with you in case one should break, but just starting out one pair will suffice. If you don’t have real “stripper shoes” try and take in the most comfortable high heels you have, as you’ll be moving around all night in them and callouses are not fun. One of the first things I think a new dancer should invest in is REAL stripper shows – you’ll be doing your feet a big favor.

    Hair

Spare Straitening Iron/Curling iron – Please do NOT bring in your good quality CHI straightening Iron or curling iron on your first shift. Nice things CAN get picked up by girls with sticky fingers. Instead, do your hair at home and spray it over well; and if you have one bring in a second hand or old straightener to do quick fix-ups throughout the night. Once you get a locker you can start to bring in your nicer/fancier things.

Brush- Obviously, for detangling knots. Stripping can wreak havoc on the healthiest hair

Hair Spray/Products/Accessories - Or whatever else you feel you need to look your best. Be conscious of things that will pull or catch on customers clothing if you’re giving contact dances, and of things that will come loose/fall off on stage. Same goes for Jewelry.

    Misc.

Snack/Bottle of Water – This is good for when work is slow and your energy is getting low. I recommend bringing in a protein bar/cereal bar (I love Luna Bars, but whatever is your favorite). Most clubs will give dancers water free of charge, but it’s nice to have access to your own, just in case.

Gum/Breath Mints – This one is of upmost importance if you’re a smoker. Remember that you’re a fantasy and should smell like one too. If a customer can smell the garlic bread you had for dinner that might not be a turn on.

First aid Kit AND Small Bottle of Ibuprofen – These two are very important. Never rely on a club to have basic first aid equipment at the ready. Small cuts and nics happen all the time and you need to deal with them before you can go up to another customer and expose yourself to germs. Keep a little store bought first aid kit on you with some alcohol wipes, Poly or Neosporin, assorted sizes of Band-Aids and a small bottle of ibuprofen or other pain killer for headaches/period cramps/sore muscles etc. You can even add a few blister cushions or extra Band-Aids to put on your feet if your new shoes start to dig in.

Small Mirror – Because you never know how many girls will need to share one mirror in the dressing room, and there may not be room for you to apply your makeup.

Superglue – I always carry a little tube of Crazy glue with me for many “just in case” scenarios. It’s great for fixing shoes in a pinch, fixing jewelry, rhinestones on costumes, putting back on a fake nail that fell off.

Hand Sanitizer – This is good to use at the end of a shift before you put your hands back on your ‘street clothes’. I keep it in my purse and use it before and after every customer I shake hands with. I work in a high contact club, so I put some on my hands and rub it on the customer’s hands before a dance. I’ve only had a few guys complain; I recommend warning them first.

Small Towel – I keep one for standing on while I’m changing in the dressing room, I don’t like putting my feet on the bare floor. They’re also good to keep on your for toweling off sweat after a stage show, or to dampen and wipe a costume with if something gets spill on it.

Legal documents! Don’t forget to bring whatever documents/ID you need to audition at the club. Often times it’s 2 pieces of ID and proof that you’re legal to work in the country you’re dancing in. Sometimes you’re also required to have a Dancer’s License too. Call and check with the club ahead of time.

Some girls will also bring a small book or magazine with them for when they’re bored.

    ****A Note on Glitter/Oils/Lotions/Tanners/Perfume****

Don’t use them! Glitter and strong perfume will rub off onto the customer, who will then have to face his wife when he goes home. MANY men automatically exclude dancers with strong odors and glitter just for those reasons, so you’re shooting yourself in the foot. The Oils, lotions and tanners are a No-no because they grease up the stage and pole (No matter how quickly you think they ‘dry in’ to your skin, they’ll still make the stage slippery when you’re perspiring). A slippery stage is dangerous for all the dancers.

I hope this post managed to help someone. If you have anything to add please post below and I’ll work it into what I already have here; anything more specific about dancing in the US would be super helpful.

Good luck with your Auditions, New Dancers!

Aside from the usual stuff like shoes, outfits, and makeup/hair stuff, I always have a toothbrush, toothpaste, gum, deodorizing foot spray, bottle of water, bandaids, neosporin, and what I call my "blonde emergency wig" to throw on when I'm having a bad night and feel that a change would help me out. I also keep magazines or a book in my locker for when I'm taking a break or am working a super slow day shift.

Dry goods: Snacks, like jerky, popcorn, protein bars, crackers, nuts, etc. one pair of stripper shoes or just cute 3" and up heels that I would already be wearing, jewelry, makeup, hairbrush, styling tools.

Wet goods: gum, toothpaste and toothbrush, deodorant, Water, alcohol, caffeine, sugar,(usually combined!) wipes, lotion, body spray....and My ONE outfit for the night, maybe a second if I'm unsure. Maybe more panties/thongs only if I'm having a ton of wetness for some reason. I try to go bare minimum if I can but always be prepared! You might get really turned on by yourself, the music, the money, and the guys! Lol j/k. on all that. Just being a perv, ha ha.

In the past I used to carry sharp scissors for tags I saw on new girl's cheesy outfits, or my own bangs/layers, lol, I don't usually take them w/ me now though. Also used to carry at one point or another though I do not now: Business cards, charger, camera, lube, baby powder, shower gel and loofah, towel, powder-glide-on feminine chafing gel (mmm it has a a clean sexy scent and so perfect for nude contact dances) Notepad and pen, book to read, Hairspray, rubberbands, bobby pins, safety pins, sewing kit.

And I never forget, even if I'm in heels and lingerie and could techinically just walk into a club off the street and work:
iPhone, Car Keys, and $$ for housefee or $$ that I made, Woot!!!!!! in a cute purse that goes with aforementioned the underlying outfit or jewelry.

All the stuff I will never need unless I don't have it:

    Sewing kit.
    Toothbrush/paste/floss/mouthwash.
    Tampons.
Nail file/clipper, mani set , etc.
    Band aids and Neosporin.

Extras are bottled water and make up remover in case I need to go somewhere where I'm worried about looking like a stripper.

I try and take just the essentials and avoid lugging around stuff I will never actually use.

    My bag includes:
    - outfit
    - spare outfit
    - make up
    - heels
    - garter & elastic bands
    - purse
    - deodorant & perfume
    - redbull, protein bar, apple, large bottle of water
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

LOL at first glance the thread looked like "What do you keep with your douche bag?"

It's also almost 5am here. In all seriousness (besides the usual items), I can't do without bringing my phone charger, aspirin and lucky pair of hoop earrings.

I keep two bags, both about the size of a large purse/small tote. Where I work we don't have lockers or anything, just a giant wrap-around counter with about 5 large cubbys underneath.
In one I keep about 5 outfits. I like to change once or twice throughout the night depending on the clientele. (Old, pervy guys = slutty schoogirl outfit; young, riled up guys = teeny bikini.) I think that you can never have enough spares and I like options. In that bag I also keep a pair of non-stripper (but wearable in case of an incident) heels to fall back on. Also a pair of my regular stripper heels, my clutch (for money and my phone), charger, and car keys. And if you're in a nude club don't forget your lap cloth.

In my other bag, there is always:
    a sewing kit
    wipes
    body spray
    deodorant
    bottle of listerine
    tweezers
small scissors (for anything: threads, tampon string cuttage lol)
hand sanitizer (to put on my boobies and neck so nasty guys don't lick me)
    pepto bismol
gas x (you wouldn't believe the number of girls who eat all kinds of nasty stuff while they're working and then complain that they'll get gas!)
    nail polish
    nail polish remover
    band aids
    tylenol
    makeup
    tampons
    nail file
    flat iron
aloe vera (keeps my nipples hard for a while)
    hairbrush

Hahaha, my dancer bag is so hopeless. Its big, ugly, and horribly chaotic:

    1. Hard apple ciderX2. Just incase I don't feel like drinking tequila as a ladies drink that night.
    2. Usually a tampon or two floating around somewhere in there
    3. Some random change at the bottom
    4. Tea bags? You never know when you might want to make some tea oO
    5. Mouse, deoderant, sunscreen and a hairbrush
    6. Gum and halls<--addicted to them!

At least 3 outfits I may want to wear (1 for old guys 1 for younger guys and 1 in case I really need to switch things up)
    1-2 pairs of shoes
    SUPER GLUE!
Sewing kit if I remember it
Liquid band-aid when to a new club in case their stages are horrid
Hairspray (which is the thing I most often forget though is one of the most important)
    1-2 thongs
    Deodorant
    Light perfume
    Makeup for touchups
    Brush
Small purse for tips on busy nights
    Tylenol
    Sometimes Cigarettes
