    Default dancing shoes

i'm curious, what type of shoes do you guys dance in? i've seen the girls who dance in heels, boots, and even socks. when you work in bigger clubs (clubs here are really amateur) what is the normal requirement. i personally find boots to be way easier for me to twerk in but, i don't want to get stuck in bad habits as i don't plan on staying in hawaii foever.

It all depends on personal prefference. Our best seller is the 601-Brook by Ellie.

We just posted the same topic 1 minute apart haha. I like dancing in platforms. I posted a pic of the shoes I think I am going to get in the one above you. "Work shoes what do we think".

I don't think there is any general requirement at most clubs other than the footwear have heels with or without platform.
Then there are clubs who don't care what's on your feet and some who insist they be authentic stripper shoes so the stage won't get damaged.

These days dancers are wearing shoes from Bakers/Wild Pair/etc to strip in because they are so high and look like stripper shoes. The choice is really up to you as long as it falls within the rules.

I just remembered I danced in boots for a brief moment when I began, but the heel broke so that was that. It really was easier to dance (especially the way we do to hip-hop) in those over shoes. I was told the wedge heels are easier also and feel way more comfortable but I've never worn a pair.

My only must are ankle straps.

It's true. Many of the girls, especially shot girls, at our club buy shoes at Bakers because they are super hot and look like stripper shoes. But you pay a lot of money at Bakers for shoes that aren't going to last as long as "stripper heels".

As for the boot: A lot of new girls start in boots because they are easier to dance in. There is nothing wrong with that. I think boots are hot and if you look good in them then why not? They even make climbing the pole a cinch. Not so much getting down, though.

If you are looking to venture away from your boots I would recommend:

Were in the hell do they have bakers and wild pair?! I use to love wild pair and get my shoes there but they've been gone in my area for around 10 years. I use to get my thigh highs there too.

When I was dancing in Vegas and making a killing I thought I was really hot stuff so I danced in Roberto cavallis w/ a tiny platform. Those were the days. Now that half of what I sell goes to the house + my house fees & tipouts are about 3x as much, I buy shoes from places like bebe. Le sigh. They sell a lot of strippery shoes and they seem to last longer than real stripper shoes after all the stair climbing I do in them.

There are stores all over the place, I've seen them in every mall from NY to FL. I have only seen Wild Pair in NYC but Bakers is still in many places. I'm sure the site has a store locator.

boots are nice for walking around but i get super sweaty when dancing in boots because i'm used to slipping my shoes off. i understand waitresses wearing platform stilettos from everywhere but pleasers are the most reliable for me.

Stupid question here... what the hell is "twerking"?

Personally, I like clear stripper shoes. Either 8" or 5.5"... The lower heels for dances/walking around, the higher ones for stage.

I wish I could wear my work shoes out when I go dancing (like clubbing). My 7 1/2 inch heels are more comfy than any other 5 or 6 inch heels I own. WTF.

Twerking... is everything I can never be.

Edit: And I'm in five inch heels w/platform now, with little chains on them. People always compliment them. My first pair were 7 or 8 and I almost killed myself a dozen times in them. I still want to wear them on stage sometimes though.

I loved working in pleasers....I still find them the most comfortable shoe to wear for long shifts!!

Before I left the clubs to cam, I had switched to boots, but that was because I was lazy and burnt out, and I didn't want to have to keep my legs shaven!!! My hair grows really quickly, and I loved being able to leave it, and only shave once or twice a week, not every other day (helloooo irritated skin). Ha - I sound so lazy!! But I am....lol

I'm thinking about getting closed toe boots or something just because My nail polish ALWAYS chips on stage. It makes me so sad when I get my pedi and my toesies look so cute and BAM! Lasts me one day.

Me too! I'm trying to figure out how to DIY a pair of my comfy dance shoes to look more "civilian" so I can wear them out. haha

I prefer 7-7.5" with 2 straps over the bridge. Especially the plastic straps. I tried a pair of boots, but they were way too warm and I don't like to cover up my legs if possible. Clear heels match everything! Keep that in mind if you go shoe shopping.

Get a gel overlay on them (you can even do it yourself at home) or wear stockings / knee high socks! I had the same problem and that worked for me

It would work but I don't wear socks or stockings because I do pole tricks and wearing them shortens my legs.

Ok go for the gel overlay then. You could buy the gel and uv light on ebay for pretty cheap I'm sure. Or ask for it at the salon. They'd do it.

I LOVE the gel manicures. They last me almost 3 weeks & a regular manicure always starts chipping on the second day. I used to have to get two a week. Huge waste of time.

I don't care too much if they're sandals or boots; as longs as I'm wearing Ellie or Pleaser, I'm happy.
