    Default Anyone else use Aveda?

I just started using it again, I forgot how much I love the smell!

I am using Shampure, but I don't like the Shampure conditioner, so I need a good conditioner to go with this. I used Smooth Infusion, but didn't like how it relaxed my curl pattern so much, so that's getting returned. I am thinking about the Blue Malva conditioner, or Black Malva, maybe even the Brilliant conditioner. I think one is for enhancing blonde high lights and the other for enhancing black or dark brown tones, I have both. I already use a purple shampoo (Joico Color Endure Violet shampoo) twice a week or so to bring out the blonde.

Any suggestions for a good Aveda conditioner? Also that Caribbean therapy body lotion smells divine!

I don't have any suggestions but Aveda products smell so good!! I used to strictly go to Aveda concept salons just because everything they ever used on my hair smelled wonderful!

    Good luck finding a conditioner!

I go to an Aveda salon, and I use the Blue Malva conditioner. I have platinum hair though, so I only use it once a week at most, it's super strong stuff.

Allure recommends the Color Conserve shampoo, maybe the matching conditioner? I used to use, but haven't for awhile. I like how they have little mini sizes.
Also, L'oreal has a similar line, Pureology. Smells great, like Aveada. I can tell you I used the serum, it helped my hair a lot & wasn't greasy at all, made natural like Aveda.

Thanks, Whirlerz! I love aveda products, but the price gets to me sometimes. I do use them as my salon most of the time, though. Worth it then, after trying some different places and getting my hair screwed up.

I use the color conserve mostly, and Brilliant when my hair needs some sprucing up.

They have lots of informative reviews on their site, I've stayed away from the blue line since a lot of people claim it is very harsh. I've used the reconstruct conditioner, it was a little too heavy for my thin hair - I prefer the protein rx one from fekkai. The volumizing clay line looks tempting though...

    You're so welcome hun!
I've been wanting to try Carol's Daughter products, they're on hsn, their own site, & sephora.
They are also all natural & smell great.

I want to try Carol's Daughter too! They have amazing reviews but I've been putting off trying them until I'm done with what I have now (Pureology, actually). I have JASON products here too, but they're so crappy I'm not going to bother finishing them off.

    JASON hair products suck, IMO.

I used to love Pureology.... until I discovered the Alterna caviar line. To this day, I haven't found anything that can come close to how good that stuff is. It's sooo expensive though, and the Aveda smells better!

JASON Hair AND soap products - I have their apricot body wash and it leaves a weird film. Too bad, they're all natural and at my local supermarket.

I like Aveda, but I'm such a product junkie I can't settle on one thing. Is the Alterna line the blue/purple bottles?

I love the smell of aveda but the black malva shampoo dried my hair out so bad i got flakes! I stopped using it and it stopped so I dont know if it was just me or this happened to other people. I find synthetic shampoos work better than organic for me

Their volumizing tonic is the best I've ever used! Sadly I can't say I've tried many other of their products, but at their stores they treat you like an absolute queen!

I'm going to retry the Alterna! I had purchased something awhile back, it was kinda, eh. I've heard great things about the cavair line, & anti-aging.
Check out aquage.com - you can only buy it a salon though. It smells pretty good. You can search the site for a nearby salon that has it. I love their strengthing shampoo, sufate-free, with sea silk proteins, & it's color safe. I used it when my hair got ruined/color corrected, & my mini bottle is almost emplty. Their leave in detangler used to sell out very fast at my former salon

I already use some Aquage products! I use the Beyond Shine for when I'm flat ironing my hair and extensions, and also the silkening oil from time to time when my hair gets crispy and coarse, or I'm letting it air dry, and on my extensions.

I LOVE the Brilliant shampoo and conditioner from Aveda! They are not as good as Alterna caviar moisturizing shampoo/conditioner, but cheaper and smell better anyways..... I also bought Confixor (bought it just for the smell) and Be Curly curl enhancer. I already love everything!

By the way, I've used other lines from Alterna and they were not all that, but that Caviar line.... wow, it's amazing!

Sorry I have no advice on the Aveda but may I recommend this line. I won't be trying the leave in cream because it's got parabens but the healing oil and masque are DIVINE. I'll be picking up the shampoo asap which I've heard great things about. Sulfate free so it won't strip your color.

    Ok I'm done thread jacking.

    Carry on.

I just tested out the Be Curly + Confixor... WOW!!!

My hair is a wavy/curly hot mess, but now it's defined ringlets! and TONS of volume, and looks like I have ZERO product in it! Amazing!
