I'd love to hear advice about this, too! I feel the same way...I do think I'm pretty burnt out, though. I definitely wanna be on top of my game when I go back in a few weeks, though!

Newton's law of gravity applies to strippers and earnings as well. We've been doing this for too long. We're getting burnout.

It's kinda like in the Vampire Chronicles when they've been around for so long they start to go mad and go underground. You don't think the same thing happens to us?

Think of it this way if you slack that means you move some other dancer up ahead of you.

That can mean someone more deserving to take your spot and sometimes even a less deserving stripper.

So get your butt out there.

This has been happening to me too. I go into work during the week and if it's dead and full of assholes I just stop giving a fuck. Even if I know I'm gonna leave with $200 I just stop trying to hustle. It's kind of been a pride thing lately... we've had a lot of young guys come in during the week and sit there for 4 hours - turning girls down left n right, being obnoxious. And girls still go over and sit with them stroking their egos despite the fact they aren't spending any money. I just can't even pretend to be nice to guys like that anymore. It's burnout for sure, I took a few days off and am starting fresh again on fri/sat.

It'll come back! End of summer is a slow period but once business picks up you'll be feeling like your old self again

Because the only ITC hooker I know of works days.

Just curious because the last time I was in town the top 2 girls were the same as they've always been... and cleaner dancers than most. Surprised to hear that, is all.

One just got fired, thank god, for meeting up with a customer who had told a few girls he was going home with her. Shale saw him and her hooking up at that 7-eleven.

The other is older, named after a car...known around the club as "hand-job".

I say rest but if you need to work you might need to bring something with you. Now you don't sound like this but when I see girls slowing down but can't take the time off and close to tears. I always tell them to bring something that get your heart racing (not drugs) or to laugh your ass off. I have a very crappy ipod.. it has only one playlist on it and that is campaign and suffering. When I'm to the point of being dragon stripper I just go into the DR and listen to it.

I wish they told us our ranking at my club. They do keep track of dances, but they keep that info private.

I agree with Tempest. But motivation has a lot to do with it. Ever since I paid off everything I needed to I go into a total different mode I used to approach anything that walked. But now, I find one seat in the club and sit and wait for the $ to come to me. I honestly don't see much of a drastic change in moneywise. I do have girls in my club that get annoyed at my "lazy" ways because sometimes I win over the guy they were speaking to for an hour with either a stage performance (I am not amazing on there) or just a hello when they come by. I can't help it, I love my seat in the club and I have made too much being lazy now. Hahaaa

Is is slow in your club and just harder to make the same amount of money? I got like this a couple weeks before I quit. It was mostly because it was so damn dead. The same regulars who never buy dances were in there every night, and, often, they would be the only ones. I would hustle my ass off and be lucky to leave with $100. So I just stopped trying. I was like, the only difference between working and being lazy is like 20 bucks... so why bother. I remember, one night, I made $240 in 2 hours, and I just stopped trying. I was like "This is more than I've made all night for the past month, who cares?" I probably could've left with more than I had ever made if I actually tried, but I just sat in the corner the rest of the night. Never even asked for a single other dance. I knew it was time to leave, at least for the summer.

It is so dead in my club that the owner came nto the dressing room a nd apologized for how slow it has been. yea Ive def lost my motivation except when there are tipping customers nt he building which isnt very often The lack of motivation is due to the huge lack of customers. If there were decent mannered tipping customers n my bars then yes id work harder. Tired of people coming n to hang out or just sit at the bar and drink. I have no motivation when thats the saddening norm.

Also Ive found the customers have become VERY DISRESPECTFUL in this shitty economy. They come in now and talk even more shit about the dancers bc they see us suffering. The "viewed worth" has gone down at times too. Where they think since no one is tipping us that we r deserving of just a measly dollar tip. That makes my motivation go into the toilet.

Thanks Tempest. This approach doesn't always work for everyone. A lot of people tell me I have very mysterious look and wondering why I am sitting alone.

seriously!! I feel like all my earnings are dropping because I still refuse to rub my crotch in a guy's face and finger myself on stage for a DOLLAR.

Exactly this. Happens to me all the time. I usually don't get lazy though just ANNOYED and bitchy and I just know I need time off. Just came back after 2 full weeks off. Much better.

I've taken months off before. I suggest a break until your WANT to go back. It's not worth it if you don't care. IMO.

What about Newton's law of motion? That which is in motion tends to stay in motion until acted upon by an outside force.

If you think about it that way...that the "downward pull" is not gravity, it's not inescapable, but it is just an outside force acting upon you to slow you down...how much you choose to let it is up to you. Think about the aerodynamic shapes of cars today and super-future vehicles. We are just going to have to get more streamlined ladies...

In short: A stripper hustling and making money will tend to keep hustling and making money if she is not affected by forces outside of herself.

Eh, fuck it. We're old farts. Admit it. This industry isn't what it was 5, even 10 years ago. All we can do is go to school (if you choose) save your $$$$$, marry an even older fart, and GTFO.
