I had this problem a lot. My biggest issue was that, at my club, girls would often make just as much, if not more, off tips than dances. And most of the customers were townies who came in regularly. Every girl I saw employing bitchy "You're not gonna spend on me? Well, fuck you then" attitudes were always going home with nothing because customers would remember and not only not buy dances, but also wouldn't tip, so they made zilch. As much as I wanted to employ this tactic and act like it wouldn't affect my money at all, the reality was that it would for a small club like that. If I saw some other customer I knew, even if I knew that customer also wouldn't spend, I'd say "Do you mind if I go say hi to my other friend over there?" Then say a quick hi, how are you to the other guy, then go about my business. Or, if it was close enough to my time to go onstage, I'd say I needed to use the bathroom/go to the DR to freshen up for stage, then go onstage, and then avoid his table when I got off.
The "fine for being lazy" thing worked for me a couple times though. We actually were fined if he didn't sell a certain number of dances throughout the night, so if I asked for a dance, and the guy got all uppity because I wouldn't just sit and listen, I could say "Sorry, it's not that I don't like talking to you, but we get charged a "lazy bitch fee" (what they actually called it) if we don't sell a certain number of dances, so I really need to go do some. If I sell enough while you're still here, I'll come back and see you." Then just never go back over...
